Shiso Sushi Bar

Started 2025 with a great Japanese lunch!I had the Gindara combo and Negima (chicken yakitori). I personally think the Gindara combo is the best selection they have. My wife got agedashi tofu and a tempura combo. We each had a scallop roll as well. Left satisfied and full.The staff are all really nice and we spent time admiring their classical murals on the walls.This is our favorite Japanese go-to restaurant in the valley.

Don't let the outside deceive you! This sushi restaurant had amazing fresh fish and the cutest fish tank! I came here on a Sunday at 4pm and there were a few tables taken. It's small inside and fills up fast (by 5pm all tables were nearly taken). The waitress was very nice and prompt and came over quickly to take our order. The menu was small but it made it easy to order. All the fish was fresh and tasted amazing. The miso ginger dressing on the salad was one of the best I have had and the soup came out hot! The edamame and cucumber salad wasn't amazing but that was ok. It is small inside with limited tables but a pretty big bar. The parking lot is small but I was able to find a spot. If I'm ever in the area again I will definitely be back!

Stopped by for dinner. Service was quick!It looked dark from the outside but where were many tables and booth seating plus at the sushi counter. The Dodgers were playing so almost every table was occupied. We saw the menu online but they had some specials new items not on the menu as well. We got pork chasu ramen, an assortment of sushi nigiri, a cut roll, some hot appetizers and a sushi bowl. The sushi bowl was fresh and rice was perfect! The eel was little overcooked though but still tasty. The ramen had juicy pork and creamy broth but the egg was a little hard boiled instead of soft boiled. All still good. There's parking in the strip mall lot. The area can be a little iffy so just be aware of surroundings.

Outside is not that appealing but the inside is aesthetic and clean. Service was nice. The food was so good! Especially the fish belly items! My favorite was the toro and the yellowtail belly!! It absolutely melts in your mouth and is so fresh! The roll I got was okay but I think I'd try a different one next time. I personally like the small shishito peppers but these big ones were pretty yummy too I think I'd ask for them more crispy next time! Overall great experience and yummy fish belly

As a NoHo local, this is our go to sushi spot! The most accommodating service and freshness you can taste! They have either a sushi bar or tables to dine at. Our favorites are the Shops house roll and the spicy crunchy shrimp roll.

Here is an honest review...Food is good, I really wanted this to be a new favorite spot. Service was good the first 15 minutes. A "regular" family showed up and was seated right next to us and we were pretty much ignored the rest of the time. They forgot one of our rolls and then when the check came I questioned it on the bill, she took back the bill to "double check" and then when she came back our bill was MORE!If anything when forgetting our order it should have been less. The ambiance is your traditional sushi place. It definitely looks better inside then from the outside. Went here because of the high yelp reviews but unfortunately it was not all that great.

I had to take my car nearby and this place was around the corner. I was so impressed with the food! The waitresses were so sweet and the lunch specials were fresh and filling. Ty !

Faves are the Lemon Roll and Spicy Scallop hand roll.This place is currently my go to sushi spot near work. I usually order online and pickup or have occasionally dined in solo. The lemon roll is a spicy tuna inside topped with salmon and a sliver of lemon smothered in sauce (albeit a bit too drenched). A good balance of tangy and sweet. The spicy scallop is also delish with a little kick and a generous portion of creamy scallop. I've also tried their spicy tuna on crispy rice which was average. Prices are reasonable and satisfies the craving without breaking the bank. Service is also very attentive, quick, and very polite.Located in a small plaza with limited parking.

Service is always exceptional and they have some of the freshest and quality sushi I've had. Parking lot can be sketch but once you're inside, you are greeted by the wonderful staff. Highly recommend the salmon belly sushi and the spicy salmon hand roll on soy paper. This is a must try for all sushi lovers!
