Well-rounded Korean tofu place but with a bit steeper price tag compared to a few years ago. We stick to soong tofu (tofu soup with the protein of your choice or veggie) and it tastes decent when served with rice. We ordered the mixed version (seafood, pork and beef) combo, which comes with grilled bulgogi beef as a side entree. The side dish (banchan) comes with 6 mini plates with fish cake, pickled daikon, kimchi, broccoli, mashed potato and bean sprouts. Make sure you ask them to refill!

TLDR: Not what it used to be :( Bulgogi was loose bits of meat but too sweet, whereas their Tofu Soup was light on ingredients and flavor but too heavy on water... Never have I ever seen a Tofu Soup this transparent.Parking in Sawtelle is always difficult, so you may try your luck on the streets or the Marshall's lot (at your own risk). The kitchen / dishwashing was also quite noisy on a Saturday night, so if you're looking for a quiet spot, this might not be it.- - - - - -I visited Seoul House of Tofu after another disappointing dinner in Sawtelle, and I have to be honest in my review that much has changed in nearly a decade. I used to love Seoul House of Tofu, but I was surprisingly disappointed in a recent visit, where I ordered their Bulgogi + Assorted Tofu Soup Combo. The bulgogi was loose bits of meat, marinated in KBBQ sauce though way too sweet. The assorted tofu soup had a light amount of ingredients, and the soup was particularly disappointing, almost like it was a spoonful of chili oil atop water. Never in my time eating Korean Tofu Soup has the stew ever been as clear as this...I had visited on a Saturday night, and the sides were also not that great. Usually I'd want more, but I didn't even consider it this time. To make the experience less enjoyable, my friend and I were seated in front of the kitchen. Though there is a small barricade, the consistent noise from the dishwasher and staff made it difficult to have conversation or enjoy dinner, so keep this in mind if visiting with friends.

Came here while visiting LA for some refreshing sundubu jjigae (soft tofu soup). LA Korean food truly is next level, because this soup was incredible.I ordered medium spicy with beef, and I thought it was the perfect balance of flavorful but not overly spicy. I'd maybe do one level higher next time. The tofu is super rich, silky, and soft, and the broth is aromatic and flavorful. They had all the classic banchan as well, including my favorite- fish cakes.Service was also incredible. We were seated quickly, and our order was taken quite fast. Our waiter came by to check in on us frequently during the meal and refilled our banchan. They even dropped the check off really quickly once we were done, which is helpful given the 2 hour parking spot we had to get back to.Superb K food spot overall, definitely recommend.

Wow wow wow! I enjoyed every second of this place! The food is absolutely delicious. The staff is incredibly nice. No wonder they are busy! This place usually has a wait to I suggest arriving earlier than you want to eat to get your name on the list. They have menus posted around so also take a look before being sat. I got the hot stone bibimbap combo. You get your moneys worth. You get your choice on soon tofu, I chose miso with pork. Very subtle flavors which is a great contrast with the hot stone bibimbap. So much flavor and so many vegetables mixed in. This place has a lively atmosphere but also feels like home at the same time. Highly recommend eating here.

One of my favorite comfort food spots in Sawtelle. My go-to order is the assorted soondubu with an egg, at medium spice level. It always hits the spot, especially on a cold or rainy day! I've tried the high spice level, and it definitely packs a punch. The stew is served piping hot and boiling, causing the chili flakes to move around, so the first few spoonfuls of broth always catch me off guard. On that note, be careful not to burn yourself! They also offer an even higher spice level, which I would never dare try. If you go around dinner time, it's normally packed and there's a line. You add your name to the waitlist placed near the entrance and check with one of the servers on the estimated wait time. You can explore the nearby stores if there's a long wait time to help time pass by quickly. As for parking, there's rarely any parking spots available outside that shopping strip, however, you can park by Marshalls or find street parking nearby. The service is always great, and the servers are attentive, especially considering how busy they get. There's K-pop songs playing at a comfortable volume, making it easy to carry on a conversation. Other tips: They'll substitute the spicy soondubu broth with water broth, and they will remove the meat if you want just the soft tofu. They'll also skip the green onions if you're not a fan. As you can see, they're quite accommodating, so feel free to check with the servers if you have any restrictions. But please be mindful and understanding if they're unable to accommodate a specific request.

We arrived at 6 PM on a weekday and was immediately seated. When we were almost done eating there was a huge line out the door around 7:30 PM, highly recommend going earlier or during off hours if you don't want to wait. There's a parking lot in the plaza and many spaces available when we arrived. The side dishes weren't my favorite, it wasn't special in any way but they did provide a variety. We ordered the seafood soondubu and galbi combo. The soondubu was enjoyable, with a comforting flavor, but it didn't quite stand out compared to other Korea restaurants I've been to. Galbi was very flavorful and chewy! Service was very quick and they made the effort to check in on us frequently throughout our meal to ensure we had everything we needed.

It's a gloomy day in LA, best time for hot tofu soup. We got here about 2 and still quite busy but got a table right away. Ordered a galbi tofu combo and a regular tofu soup. The tofu soup was flavorful but the seafood inside was very tiny. The short ribs were good and decent portion.

This place is a must on Sawtelle! I was so happy to see a ton of vegan/vegetarian options here. I got the vegetable dumpling soon tofu and it was soo good! I loved the flavor the dumplings added over just getting a veggie/tofu soup. It was semi easy to get a table for 2 on a Saturday night around 6pm. 10/10 recommend!

I've been to seoul house of tofu twice, once while I was in college as most UCLA students do - and again just last week.Surprise when I went this last time it was during the holidays so it was not a long wait as we also beat the normal dinner rush getting there around 5:30. My party of four was seated immediately And was attended to fairly quickly. Only one person in our party bought tofu soup, lol, another, but the hot stone Bibibop, the next person bought the seafood pancake, and I bought the short ribsEverybody loved their meal. The only comment that was received was that the seafood pancake was a lot more pancake this time than the last time the person had it meaning there was less seafood and veggies and much more dough as it was definitely really thick and not thin as it normally is .The galbi ribs or flavored well cooked super perfection and sizzling hot when they came to the table. The Banchan was also very good offering a variety of the following.Broccoli, fish, cakes, potato, salad, beans, kimchi, pickles, etc For a Thursday night it progressively got busier as a night went on but all in all it was a great meal
