We stayed in the hotel and had our breakfast/brunch here and I'm so impressed with the food here. The restaurant/bar lounge and patio has a chic Mediterranean (Spain, Italy) style interior. And they got loads of cushions lol. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The food is superb! Everything was delicious and make you feel like you are on a vacation kinda of delicious. I particularly love the house made yogurt with musli and fresh fruits. It doesn't only look pretty but also it tastes absolutely amazing! My guess is they added vanilla seeds instead of the essence and cream to the yogurt to create a rich and luxurious texture. I guest they must carefully select the fruits too because all of them taste great! I'll definitely come back again for the fabulous dining experience!

Upscale restaurant from Chef Jose Andres. Came here for dinner prior to watching a show at the Mark Taper Forum with my family, and we made a reservation online in advance. There were a few issues we had at dinner (i.e., they sat us late for our reservation, they forgot a coaster for my mom, they gave our jamon to another table that was seated after us even though we told them that we had a show to catch, etc.). However, I must give a shout out to our waiter Kevin. He's a top notch guy. Even with the issues, he was proactive in communication and checked in on our table the right amount. He was accountable and that helped make the meal still enjoyable. In terms of the food, these are my quick thoughts. - I really liked the jamon and pa amb tomaquet. Get these for the starters. - Scallops were good but small. - Duck was cold and also small. I did like the sweet potato that accompanied it. - Lubina was good and I liked the cut lines of the skin. - Tarte de queso - very savory and not what we were expecting. Honestly, I didn't love this dessert. Overall, the place is classy and was clearly very popular. It's in a convenient location to catch a show but I would recommend giving yourself extra time if you plan to eat there.

Went right as they opened for lunch and it was convenient since we stayed at the Conrad LA. It was pretty empty so the service was relatively quick.Atmosphere is definitely good and I can tell it would be lively in the evenings. Most importantly the food - it was impressively good. Crudo had a nice citrus flavor with hints of coconut. Scallops were fresh and the sauce was vibrant. Octopus is on the heavy side so I recommend sharing! Bold in flavor and octopus sooo soft..everything 5 stars. Highly recommend if you're staying at the Conrad!

We ordered a variety of of foods, some 2 orders because it looked so good. Plus we had 6 people so some needed 2 orders. Description of the food will be in the photos. Service was great. Our server was very knowledgeable about the type of food to order and how many to order. The setting of the restaurant was very elegant. The main reason we went was to support the chef who sets up "world kitchens" on the most stricken areas.

During a staycation at the Conrad Los Angeles, my boyfriend and I decided to make the most of our trip by trying San Laurel for brunch. We'd heard great things about this spot, so we were excited to check it out.Our reservation was at 10 am and the restaurant had a vibrant, lively energy. The doors to the outdoor patio were open, allowing some fresh air.We started with a latte and for food, we got the congee and steak. The congee was comforting, with a subtle richness that made every spoonful a delight. The steak was tender and melt-in-your-mouth type of delicious. While the food was memorable, the service was okay. The restaurant was quite busy, so the staff wasn't as attentive as we would have liked, but it was understandable given the busy atmosphere.Overall, we enjoyed our experience and left feeling satisfied. I'd love to come back and explore their dinner menu sometime!

Sad to say that their brunch is vastly disappointing compared to their dinner. The items are bland and extremely limited. They should be ashamed charging 18$ for a basket of MINI pastries the size of an infants palm. The amount of ingredients they put in their dishes is minimal. The service was also horrible and no one seemed like they wanted to work. I'd say stick to what you know and only come for dinner.

The food was okay. Do not order the black truffles that were on the menu. Not sure if they were doing this as non-seasonal item but black truffles lack flavor did not taste good at all. The place had a nice ambience. Great for a date and drinks. The lamb was the best. I would go back for drinks but I'm not sure for anything else off the menu. Service was great but the food was not very tasty.

If you're staying at the Conrad, then you'll most likely head to San Laurel for breakfast or brunch at some point. Being in downtown LA and a part of a 5-star hotel makes everything here pretty expensive so save this for a special celebration or the occasional treat! If you're not a guest at the hotel, parking is only available through valet and I don't think the restaurants validate parking. Take the elevator to the 10th floor where you'll find a small counter and the hostess. Even at 9:30AM on a Friday, we had to wait a bit for a table to open up. But if you need a quick caffeine fix, there was a cart near the elevators with free coffee and tea bags. I ordered the Avocado Eggs Benedict and added smoked salmon for an additional charge. It comes with a side of salad but not very much. The benedict itself was actually really good! As you can see from the pictures, they were pretty generous with the salmon and you can't even see the English muffin underneath it all. The salmon was very light, not fishy at all. The muffin was a little crunchy and the hollandaise sauce was very light, just as advertised. As I said earlier, the prices are steep here and normally I wouldn't be paying almost $40 for some smoked salmon Benedict. But I really enjoyed the meal, I enjoyed the vibes...I'd like to come back one day!

Wow, wow, wow is all I can say! I have been eager to try a Jose Andres restaurant for a long time. San Laurel exceeded my expectations in every way. The ambience was impeccable - clean, spacious and airy with an elegant modern decor. The food presentation was exquisite but more importantly, the taste matched the presentation. The fennel soup was so velvety and smooth. It was filling but not heavy at all. I also had the Lubina which was exquisitely presented with a silky sauce and a fennel salad on top. Finally, I had the Tres Leches dessert. It was the most amazing Tres Leches that I've ever had - so light yet distinctively a Tres Leches cake. Let's not forget the impeccable service with attentive yet non overbearing waiters. I will be back for sure
