Pro-tip: parking is tricky. Anti-gridlock on sunset from 7-9! Am, so park on the side street. If you want to take a small risk park at the Bristol farms. Yes, you're unauthorized , but there's like a 99 chance nothing will happen as the lot is empty mostly -- especially in the morning.Highly recommend their everything bagel and cream cheese. Their best Bag by far. When you need it the most, Sam is consistent to get your American Morning a jumpstart with a cup of Joe and a New York, LA bagel .I've spent many a mornings at 6:00 am to snag an everything bagel and cream cheese.Everything bagel is everything you need. The seasoning is extremely pronounced and slightly bitter when the crust toasts. Some might find that off-putting, but that's the way ya I like it.Bagel and cream cheese under $5.

A client of mine recommended Sam's on Sunset as a place to get a good bagel and egg sandwich. I do have a good working relationship with my client, however, with all due respect, my bagel sandwich palate is out of his league. Sam's is a small little shop on busy Sunset and Fairfax (adjacent to the Bristol Farms). No parking lot, very minimal street parking, no frills, no fuss, no flavor. The selection of bagels is average, with less than a dozen options at any given time. The prices are decent, with bagels running a bit under $2 each, and the breakfast bagel sandwiches between $5-8 depending on toppings. On this midweek occasion, I stopped by around 11am and there was nobody inside, including the staff. Finally, after tentatively asking, "Hello?" a gentleman came to the counter to help me didn't that didn't speak English. I asked for an Egg and Cheese Bagel Sandwich (on an Egg Bagel) and he kept insisting I just wanted an Egg Bagel. After several attempts, I had to use my not-so-fluent Spanglish to translate my order. Needless to say, after a few minutes of back and forth, I eventually got what I ordered (or so I thought). While I was waiting on the side countertop for my order, another customer came in and by that time, another employee (who spoke English) came from the back and helped him with his order. A few minutes later, the employee that took my order rudely shouted "Bagel," in my direction and shoved a small paper bag in my direction. I opened the bag and undid the sandwich lining to find a Bagel Sandwich. The egg and cheese were hot, however, the bagel was not. It was not even toasted. Literally taken from the front counter basket, cut and served. The bagel was completely dry and had no type of condiment (butter?) on it to help with the flavor at all. It was, as advertised, a $5.95 Egg and Cheese Bagel. Nothing more, and lots less. Sure, the egg and Cheddar Cheese were tasty, but with a dry bagel vessel, this sandwich experience was sunk from the beginning. Not sure what the other bagels are like, but I'm willing to bet that "Average" is about the highest marks one can expect from good ol' Sam's on Sunset. Given LA's incredible food scene, you just have to scour the Yelp reviews and ask your bagel-loving foodie friends where to score a great bagel with a great attitude and they can point you in many different directions beyond Sunset.

Sam's on Sunset is easily the best bagels in West Hollywood bar none. Everyone else plays for second. From the quick service, to the easy parking, plus they have a cute patio put back if needed. Pairs well with their OJ or Starbucks across the street.

I was there at 9am on a Thursday to pick up plain, everything and cheese plain bagels. The plain bagel tasted the freshest but I was not impressed. Do not recommend.

Fresh back from a week in New York City, I needed to know what LA spot had the best bagel. I got some friends together, all of whom visit NYC often and one who is actually from NYC. We are tough critics. We tried Hank's, Sam's, and Belle's, some with cream cheese and others with eggs, sausage, and cheese. You know, for science. We picked up from all three spots. Hank's had a very easy ordering process - I just placed my order online and popped in to pick up. Sam's was the same. Belle's required standing in line and placing an order in person (demerits!). Our finds on the best bagel:Belle's for everything bagelSam's for onion bagelSam's for salt bagelHank's for cinnamon raisinHank's and Belle's both had great sesame bagelsBased on this, I'm actually a little surprised that Sam's doesn't have a higher score overall on Yelp, but if you're looking for an onion bagel or a salt bagel, know that Sam's is your spot! There was just no contest. The others didn't even come close. Sam's was the hands-down winner for an onion bagel, and it's ruined me for others.

love swinging by here for a bacon, egg, cheese bagel sandwich on everything bagel. it's everything a bagel should be. i'm not a harsh bagel critic or anything, nor have i been to new york. but one thing i surely know is i'm obsessed with the bagel sandwich here. the bagels are made fresh daily and you can even see racks of them in the hallway.

Been stopping through Sam's for bagel-fixes for yearsssss! Love the quality and freshness of the ingredients here, the Everything Bagel being my fave with the Onion Bagel a close second and what I get when they run out of the Everything. I usually get it toasted well with salmon shmear which, for all of $5, suits me as I'm usually on the go. But sometimes I splurge the $12 for the real deal salmon sando with tomatoes and red onions and capers-- the fish is always fresh and soft, the flavors always what you want from such a classic pairing of ingredients-- good lox should always be like it is at Sam's and it's often not at other places. The service at this Sam's is always terrific and the team genuinely seem to be happy and like working together which is nice to see. It all adds to the overall experience here which is a fun one. The place isn't much by way of design, rather industrial and functional in nature, really just a glass counter display of bagels to go but they do have a nice patio out back they added on a decade or so ago that many are unaware of... it's a pleasant enough place to enjoy your newspaper or book, bagels and coffee (which is just so so but affordable).

No matter what I know that I can be able to grab a bagel and locks here and it will hit every time, but the food is always fresh, which is important for fish and overflowing, which is important to my budget. Their seating in the back which is cool but I usually just take it to go since the seating is also the Bristol Farms parking lot. Services is super friendly and fast.
