Sakana Sushi Lounge DTLA

A couple of friends brought me here for my birthday and it did not disappoint! I'm a huge sushi lover! This place was 10/10Service was fast, food was delicious, drinks were yummy! The ambiance is very nice!Will definitely come back. Plus it's only 5 mins away from my house, a win win!

Cute spot - has indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor is enclosed with lights! Service was great, food was fresh, drinks are cute. Pricier than I'm used to but this is probably standard in DTLA.

Sakana is the Beyoncé of sushi spots; flawless, stylish, and leaving you craving for more. The tempura melts like butter, the spicy tuna roll is a flavor explosion, and the teriyaki ribeye? Pure perfection.The vibe is immaculate for date night spot, and the service is so good, so good I almost invited my server Mary to my birthday party. Don't sleep on the sake pairings they're smoother than Ryan Gosling in The Notebook.I considered applying as a dishwasher just to stick around. If you love good food and good vibes, this is the place!

The vibe of this place was perfect - great ambiance, music, etc. Super quick service, our servers were very attentive and kind. We came for happy hour (5-7pm) and we got all this food for around $50 excluding tip. The fish was extremely fresh, perfect texture of rice, good ginger, loved it all. The salmon was definitely my favorite and this is my favorite spicy tuna roll I've had. I usually love yellowtail (theirs was still really good) but the salmon was just unmatched. I would pass on the negi toro, not a lot of flavor imo. Definitely recommend for happy hour!!

This place is excellent. Just amazing quality fish. High-quality food overall.Cocktails ordered off the menu are great, those not on the menu, not so much. It's just not a place with super talented mixologists.They have outdoor patio seating next to the fire(s) that makes for great ambiance.Place is a bit pricey, so try to go during their happy hour to shave off a few bucks.

I've been here at least 27 times lol hands-down my favorite sushi restaurant in Los Angeles. Is the consistency for me. Everything is delicious.

I can't get over how amazing the sashimi and nigiri were. The sashimi slices were so thick and buttery, every bite was heavenly. The sashimi appetizer was one of my favorite dishes since it came with salmon, tuna, and yellowtail. They were also very fresh and tender. The same goes for all the nigiri we ordered: scallop, sweet shrimp, yellowtail, akamutsu, and salmon belly. The rice-to-fish ratio was incredibly generous and the cuts of sashimi were very fresh. We also ordered a rainbow roll which was presented beautifully with fresh, thick cuts of an assortment of sashimi on a California roll.I can't recommend this place enough since it has great food, beautiful interior design, and great service too. There's a valet parking in the back I believe but I opted for street parking a couple blocks down the street.

Wishing SALMON told me about @sakanadtla sooner! It's truthfully hard for me to find a sushi spot that I love, but Sakana definitely checks my boxes with their incredibly fresh sashimi and sushi, beautifully crafted Japanese-inspired dishes and cocktails, elegant interiors, and city views of DTLA from their outdoor patio. Literally every dish we ordered was a hit, with fresh, well-cut pieces of seafood and wagyu that were meticulously plated by the chefs and graciously served by their attentive waiters. This place is so cute and the food is delicious! Portion sizing is perfect to share and the ambiance and music is nice. There is street parking or a parking lot you can park in! The sashimi is 10/10.
