Life changing.... Been to the other duck spot (roasted duck by pa ord) 50 times and never realized they also have duck here. AMAZING AMAZING. Duck is soooo moist with the basil and chili flavor is crazy. Throw the fried egg on top my life is complete. BUT ALSO. The fried shrimp balls is suuuuuper juicy. How did they fry this I don't understand how it's busting with juice. LOVE.

The best hidden gem in Thai Town. This restaurant has been open for over 30-40 ish years now. I have been coming here since I was a child. I don't go often as whenever I'm in the area, they are closed. I believe they're now closed on Mondays and Wednesdays. Everytime I go the owner still remembers me throughout the 20ish years! Parking is difficult as you will have to street park. You can do either metered parking or try to find parking in the neighborhood. A lot of people sleep on this place, it's not as "trendy" but it is real, homegrown, authentic Thai food. They have the BEST duck noodles and fried leek cake. They are best known for their duck noodles, give this place a try!

Wanna know where Thai folks eat in Hollywood's Thaitown? Rodded! Rodded has been here close to 50 years and is known specifically for their five-spiced DUCK NOODLE SOUP. The popular stand-out items that people order here are:- Duck Noodle Soup... or Beef (Excellent!). - Fresh Spring Roll (similar to Filipino fresh lumpia).- Braised Pork Shark over Rice (Khao Kha Moo).- Hainan Chicken Thai -Style (Kao Mun Gai).-Fried Leek and Daikon Cake. -Shrimp Fritter (Tod Mun Goong). - Basil chili stir fry dish (Pad Kra Pow... anything ). - Fried Banana Fritter dessert (A Must!).Rodded is an OLD SCHOOL Thai-Chinese eatery hole-in-the-wall. I love the food here but they do use a copious amount of MSG in their soups, lol! -CASH Only.-CLOSED on WEDNESDAYS. -Street parking (May the parking gods be with you!).

Wow.. what a bad experience. The place has no ac, and the dining room was easily 90 degrees. They said they only took cash. The menu is strangely limited for a thai restaurant-- there's only about 10 things available. When they told me they don't do Pad Thai, that was the last straw. Also, the prices were really high. I don't think they want customers. There is a great Thai restaurant next door.

I'm so thankful to my friend for introducing me to this place. I took my kids to get the duck noodles with "seng llek" (little noodles) and thai tea and they loved it. The soup is packed with rich flavors. Just a heads up that the duck noodles come with cilantro. The owners are super friendly and welcoming. The service is amazing. Cash only.I think there was just a fan in the restaurant. It can get pretty hot. Please dress accordingly. Be sure to call beforehand as the owners are older and sometimes close early or open later. Parking can be hard to find, but it is definitely worth driving around the block a bunch of times.

First of all... Rodded is CLOSED every MONDAY and THURSDAY now. Make sure call before you come! They might change the schedule again . Food is always the BEST if you want the DUCK SOUP authentic and taste Thai food and 'home kitchen'. Egg noodle (Rice stick noodles) duck separate soup is our family favorite here since 30years ago. Taste is always the same and we are always craving it almost everyweek ! Pan fried egg noodles or rice stick noodles. Which is basically Pad Se Ew but just change what kind of noodles you prefer. Rodded Crispy pork belly with basil is also best ! Side dish usually we have fried wonton and shrimp balls. Surely don't forget with thai ice tea. Give a try to order above dishes. Their service is always special ! You'll feel home. Very friendly and family oriented. They never forgot their return customer. The only concern is the parking space. But we are always able to find the parking spot around the neighborhood or meter parking.

Not a good experience. We had gone for the great Thai restaurant Pailin next door, but it was closed on Sunday.Since we were hungry, we ended up at Rodded. We ordered:Thai salad with beef. It was OK. The beef was not flavorful, the sauce was too sweet.Pad Kee Maow (Spicy Noodles) with pork - the noodles had good char - wok hey. But other than that, nothing memorable.Beef with mint leaves over rice - most of the beef was uncooked, and flavorless. No sticky rice with mango dessert. We did not finish, and did not ask for boxes to bring back. Restroom was awful! Only one other table was occupied. Not one of the better experiences in Thai town!

Right away you know this place means business when it comes to food, no English writing on the big board and that's how you know it's going to slap. Get the fat noodles with duck. Sweet sour spicy savory. Thai iced tea was good too. The server lady was very friendly and kept refilling my water which I certainly needed as it was getting spicy. What a nice place. This place is cash only, so make sure you hit the atm

What happened to this restaurant? ... I have been coming here well over 17 years and this has always been my favorite Thai spot. I came today ready for their delicious seafood soup and they "don't sell seafood soup anymore" ??? What??? Where is the lady (owner) this is such a tragic discovery. She's put a lifetime of work and love in this place for it to have gone to the wrong hands. I will miss the taste of her food and memories over the years this place is plain and just another Thai place now nothing is special anymore.
