Came here for DineLA, and I must say this is one of the best menus I've had, and I've had a lot! Incredible venue, value and presentation. You will go home stuffed if you can finish! The restaurant is in the Hotel Per La. Located in DTLA it's not in the nicest of areas, and street parking is near impossible but there's a lot across the way and valet available. The hotel is charming and eclectic. The entryway has a cool velvet wavy couch and you make your way through a mirrored hallway to the restaurant. The restaurant is funky, posh and super cool. We came at night and it was still gorgeous with the mood lighting and bookshelves but I have also seen pictures of it lit up during the day with its huge windows and it looks equally as stunning. Service is great and we were actually seated without a reservation which was nice. Our server helped us with wine pairings and drink suggestions as well and was very friendly. The menu is great, but way overpriced in my opinion. For the DineLA price it was a steal, but at its normal price a little insane. $18 for focaccia bread?! We ordered it on the side and I thought it better be the best focaccia of my life. It sadly wasn't, but still was excellent with my burrata salad. The presentation on the dishes was amazing. Burrata- The burrata salad was so delicate with persimmon, pomegranate and pistachio. The burrata inside was a little dry and was pre-cut and lacking the creamy inside but still 9/10. Orecchiette birria- the star of the show. I don't even like meat that much but this dish was outstanding and a great portion! The birria was super flavorful and the onion foam was a nice touch. It was served piping hot which is just how I like my pastas. Scallops- these were the fall scallops which were paired with parsnip and carrots. Super interesting dish, I haven't had scallops in this "fall" format and wouldn't normally think scallops go well with these earthy flavors but it works! Scallops were a touch over cooked.Basque cheesecake- paired with fig, I could only eat a couple of bites of this be amuse I was full! Very strong on the goat cheese and maybe a bit too heavy. I would recommend making a smaller portion of the cheesecake and adding more accompaniments as it was very cheesy and creamy and needed something else to brighten the dish. For the price of the DineLA menu I was incredibly impressed. It was overall just a great night enjoying the venue, service and the beautiful food that came out. For the price of their normal menu, I think they have a little work to due on some small things but presentation stood out to me as something they did great. Would 100p recommend this for date night in DTLA!

Went here last night. 1. The service was impeccable. Brett was an absolute doll and was super helpful and attentive. He really made the experience extra wonderful. 2. The food is fantastic!! My spouse and I often go out to Michelin and hyped restaurants. This place was better than most of those overblown places. The prices aren't crazy. (The espresso martini was delish too!) 3. It's gorgeous! The interior is perfect. So charming, and inviting.I highly recommend this place for dinner. We truly enjoyed it.

We went to Per L'Ora for the prix fixe menu during Dine LA (1/24/25-2/7/25), which includes an appetizer, a pasta, an entree, and a dessert for $65. We parked in a cash only lot right next to the Hotel Per La for $10, as street parking was very limited. We made a reservation for Thursday evening and were seated quickly at a cozy corner table. We were immediately enveloped in the building's elegant neoclassical architecture and design. Some highlights of the night were the live jazz band (Thursday evenings from 6:30-9:30) and, interestingly enough, the restroom, which is entered via an old vault door in the basement, a relic of the building's history as the former Bank of Italy. All of the food was good, but nothing really blew us away. Our favorite was the orecchiette and the mushroom risotto, both of which had interesting textures and rich flavors. The cocktails were also nice, but a bit on the sweet end. All in all, it was a great value meal in a unique and beautiful setting.

Very solid location, with lovely ambiance and good pasta. Everything was very flavorful, including the brussel sprouts sides that were cooked just right. We went on a Tuesday night when it was very quiet and no reservations required, so that probably helped with the overall experience. I'll be back if I'm ever in the area and the staff shared that they change the menu seasonally!

We were staying in Per La and Per L'Ora was downstairs. I love the aesthetic here. Be sure to go to the bathroom and see the vault. The service was great as was the food. I had a room credit so we got pastries and lattes. I got the BIRRIA Benedict which was a perfect balance of rich flavor. A great take on a classic breakfast item. I just added some hot sauce and jalapeños to take it up a notch. My husband got the breakfast sandwich and raved about it. Had I not been so full I would have taken a bite.

Perfect respite from 2025 reality. We came here on a whim after searching OpenTable for available reservations downtown. The space is beautiful, the food was delicious and the vibe was the perfect mix of relaxed, lively and cheerful. The focaccia was warm, crispy on the outside and airy pull apart yummy on the inside. I ordered the duck capelletti and my husband ordered the Dine LA menu with focaccia, Orecchiette Birria, salmon and cheesecake dessert.Everything was delicious and the Prix Fixe was generous portions. Then we saw the bonus scenery downstairs. Very cute. Perfect way to get away from a terrible wildfire season and current affairs woes for a quick minute.

Historical setting, amazing food! Splendid service! Was the Bank of Italy until SEC brought them down. Then became Bank of America. Now, go invest in an amazing meal!! Ask Brett for the history. Besides being a charming server he knows the details of the historical transformation of this landmark. Buon appetito!

Brett and the rest of the staff locked it all in for this 10 out of 10 restaurant! Nestled in a cool little hotel in dtla, the architecture and vibe is incredible. But most importantly ever single dish was delicious, beautiful and well balanced. Highly recommend and before everyone finds out about this hidden gem and you can no longer get a reservation!

We came here during Dine LA, which if you get the opportunity to experience here is very very worth it. We stopped off at the bar first. It's a beautiful space. And I highly recommend a cocktail first before dinner. Dinner was relaxed and the service spot on. I can't stress how pretty this restaurant is, the architecture is absolutely gorgeous. This is a great place to go for a date night.

Giannini Building, Former headquarters of the Bank of Italy in the 1920s, is home to Per L'Ora. imagine sitting underneath a stunning Italianate 20-foot ceiling which enjoying a menu that hits on all the Italian high notes with a beautiful twist.Their Focaccia bread was so fluffy, The orecchiette birria was outstanding and so unique, the Endive salad was perfection with that pistachio touch.Their sure know how to do dessert because their twist on tiramisu was executed perfectly & their Earl Grey Panda Cotta was so divine. Service was amazing, Esteban (hope I'm remembering that correctly) was so friendly, so funny and attentive. Fun Fact: the original founder of the building, AP Giannini loaned Walt Disney the funds to produce Snow White, which I thought was so cool. this place was so much fun!
