Rich crab is a great restaurant in ktown for some of the best marinated crabs. They offer both spicy and soy sauce marinated crabs with prices ranging from $45 and up depending on how much crab you're getting. 1 crab for 2 people was enough + pancake + soybean soup is great for 2.Service was so nice and quick and had a great conversation with the owner about the crabs and the food. The marinated soy sauce crab was extremely delicious and wasn't overly salty at all. Perfect balance of flavor and the crab had a lot of meat in it. Gloves available for everyone's convenience. Will definitely come again. They have various seafood stews along with a lot of side dishes.valet parking is available for $3 and street parking if available.

Location 3: Busy area in K-Town, Los Angeles. Impossible to find street parking. There are paid parking lots around, but we opted for the valet that serves the shopping plaza.Venue 3: Basic no frills indoor seating with table service. They do take reservations on Yelp which may be helpful at busty times.Service 3: Polite and attentive. Our order was taken quickly, and food came quickly as well.Food 2.5: This restaurant specializes in crab. Menu is rather small and includes crab plates, carb stews and a few Korean hot pots. The crab plates and stews can be ordered in individual and family portions. Food was just OK and not memorable. Their crab meat (which is their specialty) had a slightly sour taste to it that we had not experienced before. I did like the Spicy Tofu Stew a lot though.Drinks 3: Smaller assortment of beer, soju, soft drinks and tea. The last word 3: Rich Crab was ok, but not what we had hoped for.

I have a fascination with Korean marinated raw crab and have tried it at many restaurants, ordered it online for delivery, and even attempted to make it at home. My two biggest challenges have always been the freshness of the crab and the sweetness level--personally, I struggle with any food that's overly sweet.I think I found my new favorite here at Rich Crab. Their crab is incredibly fresh, succulent, and not too sweet. It's melt-in-your-mouth perfection! The ambiance is no-frills, but the service is attentive. I'll definitely be back whenever the craving hits!

Just plain delicious. Very kind and helpful waitress who explained the best ways to combine the soy sauce marinated crab with rice. Banchan is limited but quite tasty. Best way to save money here is to get one crab plus the seafood stew hot pot, which in my mind is a better deal than the combo, and both options are delicious. But don't miss the soy sauce marinated crab - even though I'm a spicehound, I like soy sauce here because it doesn't step on the crab flavor.

I came here with a few friends to see if it could match up to Crab House, and I have to say, it's pretty good! When we arrived, there was literally no wait, which made me a bit skeptical, but the food definitely delivered. The raw marinated crabs were the highlight for me. Super fresh and flavorful, they're a great option if you're craving marinated crab but don't want to wait in line at some of the more popular spots. The other dishes we ordered were also tasty and well-prepared, adding to the overall experience. If you're looking for solid marinated crab without the long wait, Rich Crab is a great alternative. I'd definitely come back for a quick and satisfying crab fix!

My friends and I had never eaten raw marinated crab before, so we decided to try Rich Crab based on the Yelp reviews. The food was delicious, but given the price and the portions shared among 4 people, we found ourselves not satisfied and wanting more.We ordered the Large Combo A. The photo of the large portion is somewhat misleading, as the size increase is mostly due to the soup, not the crab. Regardless of the combo size, you only get one soy-marinated crab. We would have preferred larger crab portions when ordering a larger combo, rather than more soup or sides, since we came specifically for the raw marinated crab.

We got the combo c, 2 soy marinated crab, and the eel. Combo c - spicy seafood - this was pretty good with a variety of seafoodCombo c - spicy crab - I think this was cooked crab and I couldn't really taste the crab, just the sauceCombo c - soy marinated crab - the e meat came out pretty easily and it's just so delicious when mixed with hot riceCombo c - kimchi pancake - goodSoy marinated crab - the crab is bigger when you order it by itselfEel - so I thought this was squid but my friend who had this dish in Seoul explained that this kind of eel is squid like. So it's basically spicy stir fried squid. If you're coming for the raw crab, I'd just order more of that by itself. None of the other dishes stood out to me.Parking on a Saturday night was valet only. $3 at the time of this review.

Curious about the fad surrounding raw crab and to celebrate a friend's birthday, we came here and ordered Combo B, which include the spicy crab stew, soy sauce marinated crab, kimchi pancake, spicy marinated crab, and several banchans. Since there weren't many other diners when we arrived, service was prompt. Now with the food. First and foremost, be prepared to use your hands to break open the crabs. Gloves are provided but there's some work involved. The soy sauce crab was refreshing and flavorful. Other than the spice, it was a bit difficulty to taste the flavor of the spicy marinated crab, but still enjoyable. What I thought would be the best item turned out differently. The spicy crab stew, generally good and savory, had Japanese pumpkins that tasted off, with a rotten smell, for lack of a better description. The kimchi pancake, like many I've had in my life, were spot on.Overall, an interesting experience. Parking can be a challenge so be prepared to park on the street.

FINALLY MADE IT HERE! Came on a Saturday night around an hour and a half before closing but would definitely recommend coming earlier to have ample time to eat. Pretty sizable spot with that well-loved vibe typical of homestyle restaurants. We ordered a small Combo A that ended up being waaay more than enough for dinner. Being on the later end, we were seated immediately by the kind older couple I believe run the establishment.Banchan was plentiful and delicious. When the food came out, it was all together: kimchi pancake, massive pot of seafood stew on a butane burner (everything from fish sperm to clams), and the soy and spicy marinated crab. Awesome value and the combo option made it easy to feel satisfied afterwards. Soy marinated crab was super sweet and buttery and I ended up dipping a lot more than just the crab in that marinade, and the spicy crab was heavier on the spice than the crab flavor (understandable when you think about how overpowering the flavor of gochujang can be). Having tried one other fairly popular ganjang gejang place in LA, I can say the service and food of Rich Crab are a step above.

A tucked away, K-town strip mall eatery features the freshest, crabbiest Korean crab. Get one of the combos and get ready to really dig in. Each table gets an entire box of plastic food-handling gloves for eating and you will inevitably walk away with some orange on your chin. Combo B came with a Kimchi Pancake, which is always a great option and starts with the Spicy Marinated Crab, which has a bright red sauce that's sweet and slightly spice. Soy-marinated Crab is a new adventure, a whole raw sea-stinging crab full of gooey roe. Best when consumed over warm purple rice. Spoon some rice into the shell as well and mix it up with the guts. The Spicy Seafood Stew is a sea-savory soup with a sweeter finish, full of chunks of fish, head-on shrimp and even an entire octopus. We added the Seafood Pancake out of curiosity. It's an egg-based mix of calamari, shrimp, and so many leeks. Didn't need it (plenty of food in the combo) but didn't regret it either. Warning: DO NOT eat here if you don't like crab. This crab has stingingly briny, salty-sea flavors, (as it should), but it can be a lot for those who aren't accustomed to it. That said, I loved it! I've been wanting to explore Korean cuisine, and this was one of my better food experiences for sure.
