Celebrated here for my good friend's birthday the other night and we all opted in for the Dine La 2025 experience menu. For $65, the meal comes with an appetizer, entree, and dessert. There is variety of dishes to choose from, but some are an extra cost. I got the Manila clams, Hanger steak, and the Creamsicle baked Alaska. I must say that I didn't expect the clams to be that tasty. The soup it comes with tastes very savory. No sand in their clams so they cleaned that shit good before cooking, 5/5. The hanger steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. Very tender and juicy. The onion sauce was a good combo with the steak. The dessert was a home run for me. Jesus, I killed it so fast and the portion is pretty decent. The orange ice cream on the bottom was tarty and delicious. The cream was smoky. I would definitely come back for that damn dessert, lol. Everything went well. Birthday girl had fun, food was delicious, service was good, and the vibes were just right. Gotta appreciate the little things. Thank you guys!

DineLA Jan/Feb 2025I'll start with parking. I didn't go for Valet - instead, I went to the underground parking lot on S Los Angeles, across from the Peking Tavern. Unattended. Clean. Well lit. $8Walked the 4 minutes past the library and up 2nd to Redbird. If you're like me and get there early (before they opened), look for the iron gates. Up the small flight of stairs on the left. If they're open, you'll see the valet station and valet. Saw that when I left. Arrived early but was invited to have a seat in the front bar/lounge area while they set up. Service was also offered. Had one drink - Key to the City. Loved it enough that I ordered another during dinner. Ordered the following off the DineLA menu:Hamachi CrudoBeef TartareBlack Truffle CavatelliCreamsicle Baked AlaskaTiramisu TruffleDon Flamenco (cocktail)Ordered more off the regular menu:Avocado SaladKey to the City (cocktail - 2x)See pics of the food and drinks. I enjoyed every dish and the Key to the City cocktail. The Don Flamenco didn't quite meet my expectations. Not awful, but I would never order it again. It was muted but not watered down. Not so awful that I didn't finish it. As for the food, all dishes were clear except for the dessert. Was just too full to lick the plate clean. Trying to describe the setting cannot do the venue any justice. You have to just see for yourself. It really is a sight to see. And this is one place I'll definitely go to see again.

Came here for DineLA Feb 2025.Valet parking $15. You can try street parking but it gets a little dicey in that neighborhood after dark (only good if you have 2 or more people walking back to your car)The inside is really nice and for $65, I had the:Free - cheese puffs - yummy with butterHomemade ginger ale - not bad with a little kick. generous portions.Steamed mussels - very fresh and nice broth with (surprise) glass noodlesDuck confit - melt in your mouth. so good I didn't even get a picture. Generous portionsTiramisu - very yummy.Great value for DineLA and generous portions - can't finish the whole thing.

I came here for brunch last weekend with a group and ordered the biscuits and friend fish sandwich. The biscuits were delicious and flaky! But the fish sandwich was overly salty and the fish was on the dry side. My friends seemed to enjoy the shrimp and grits so I'll get that next time.

Dine LA menu! Food was delicious especially the duck liver mousse. Only thing I wouldn't recommend was the bucatini carbornara as it was really REALLY salty and tasted mostly like the miniscule dried shrimp you put in congee, not reminiscent of carbonara at all. Really gorgeous dining room and clean bathrooms, ambience can be a little loud. Service was very attentive and thoughtful, they included a mocha pot de crème on the house at the end. We were extremely stuffed post meal!

This is far and away my favorite DineLA of Winter 2025. The intentionality of every dish we got, even including the cocktails, was spectacular. I came here on the first night of DineLA, January 24th. We snagged the last reservation online and were seated promptly. Our waitress was incredibly kind, even offering a complimentary glass of Cava to toast our anniversary! They also brought out a delicious plate of pão de queijo on the house to share. The restaurant is located in a 19th century revitalized cathedral--one of the oldest buildings in Los Angeles. The space is beautiful and lively, with gorgeous details preserved from the original architecture. Moving on to food! We partook in their DineLA, which was a very reasonable $65 per person considering the quality of food we were given. We picked:- HAMACHI CRUDO with guava ponzu, lemongrass, serrano, crispy ginger, and shishito. This plate was delicious, my favorite part being the cured roe on top of the hamachi. - MANILA CLAMS in a Thai broth, lemongrass, glass noodles, black lime. This was so warm and comforting, and the glass noodles were so pleasant to slurp and eat. - CREEKSTONE FARMS HANGER STEAK with grilled romaine, fondant potatoes, horseradish crème fraiche, and onion jus. This was perfectly cooked and every ingredient on the plate sang. I LOVEDDD the horseradish crème fraiche, and even the grilled romaine was thoughtfully executed. Getting a bite with every single bit was absolutely the way to go.- DUCK LEG CONFIT with xo, wild rice, miso yam, and charred escarole. This was a satisfying, savory delight. The duck leg was simultaneously crispy and so tender, with the rendered bits of fat on the leg absolutely melting in your mouth. Another get-a-bite-with-everything situation. - TIRAMISU TRIFLE with mascarpone mousse, vanilla sponge cake, coffee feuilletine. That coffee feuilletine MADE this dessert for me. The crunch was so pleasant to break up the soft, luxurious mousse. - CREAMSICLE BAKED ALASKA with blood orange semifreddo, blueberry, and torched meringue. Holy crap, this was fire. The blood orange semifreddo was sweet and creamy with the meringue, the whole thing absolutely invoked the nostalgia of a creamsicle in a new and exciting way. We couldn't resist also ordering the Nashi Pears, with stracciatella, pomegranate, market greens, yuzu agave vinaigrette, and sesame crunch. Now THAT is easily my favorite winter salad moment I've ever had. Every ingredient was necessary on that plate; nothing felt forced or out of place. I would 1000% get this again. We got a few different drinks; their Don Flamenco (special for DineLA), one that I cannot find the name of but I know had Frangelico, and Pineapple Brandy (THIS is the drink to get, I'm so upset I don't remember the name of it and can't find it on their menu online.) Acapulco Princess and Lost in Translation were both stellar, too. The prices are generally higher on the non-dineLA menu, which is why I'm glad they're participating in DineLA to give us the opportunity to try out a more upscale, high quality restaurant that's very intentional with what they're putting on the plate. Would absolutely come back for a special occasion, or maybe even the next DineLA.

I visited solo on a lovely Sunday around 12:30. The weather was a perfect 63°, so they retracted the roof, and the dining room was buzzing with energy, bright, and airy. Despite not having a reservation, I got seated right away in a cozy corner of their gorgeous main dining room I'd estimate the main dining room was about 90% full but the lounge area was pretty empty. Immediately, I was given water and they were super attentive with refills, but unfortunately, no one came to check on me or take even a drink order for over 15 minutes. I wouldn't recommend this place if I was in a hurry or with a group of impatient people.To drink I had their fresh squeezed orange juice and a mint tea. The orange juice they served had a kind of strange flavor, almost like onions. I asked for honey for my tea, and that took another 10 minutes to arrive-- it seems like they do everything in batches as the server who brought back my honey also was carrying several other pots. For food, I ordered the Duck Confit Chilaquiles (replacing the fried egg with egg whites) with a side of grits, and I was totally blown away. The food was absolutely delicious!Overall, the service was friendly but super slow, the ambiance was vibrant and beautiful, and the food was really quite tasty.

When here for my birthday with a friend for the 1st time. I was blown away, it was HUGE!!! They got indoor, outdoor, garden - I could get lost here. We seat outdoor since the garden had an event and indoor was crowded plus you're in LA, the land of outdoor . The staff is great and friendly, they do inform you what you're in for and man, it a lot to take in but all good. We decided let our waitress pick the foods for us cause we're adventurous that way and she was great of it. So grateful for that. We ate them all and got lost in our conversations and when we're done, it over 3-4hrs. They do change the menu regularly (what in seasons) so good to come back to try others. Thank you!

First of all, the main dining room during brunch is gorgeous. The design is incredible, and the lighting was so beautiful. Definitely a great place to enjoy the ambiance! I saw a couple a few tables over brought a backgammon board to play while they enjoyed their coffee and I was so jealous.They do offer valet parking, but we were able to park easily on the street. Might not be so easy during dinner service, but doable for Saturday brunch! We were seated in one of the booths in the center, and I must say it is VERY close to the next table. The tables are maybe a couple inches apart, so it's basically communal seating at that point. It smells so good instantly, which made it tough to decide what to order! I went with the Short Rib Hash. It was delicious and savory and warm. It came with a poached egg, but I must say it was a little too undercooked. Most of the egg whites were still liquid which caused a soggy, watery mess at the bottom of the bowl. And trust me, I usually like my eggs lightly cooked. The dish itself was also not quite as I expected because it was served in larger chunks of meat and potato. The meat was so flavorful and tender, which went so well with the veggies and roasted red pepper puree!My boyfriend got the Fried Egg Sandwich which was so good, I'm glad I was able to steal a bite. The bacon was super smoky and chewy, with perfectly toasted bread, and salty fries. I would definitely try dinner here sometime, especially because the cocktail menu looks great!
