Honestly I think this is even better than DTF! The stir fried rice cakes were surprisingly a fan favorite. Everything was cooked and seasoned well. Service was good. Nothing super major to write about. The outside is a bit deceiving and almost looked closed. Inside feels recently updated with modern decor.

The Best Dumpling House in Rosemead, CA. We ordered their Korubuta Pork Xiao Long Bao and Crab Wonton. Very juicy and has lots of flavor. Their braised beef noodles has lots of bold and rich flavors. Their lobster and seafood noodle soup was the star of the show for me. Its loaded with lobster meat and varieties of mixed seafood. You can really savor the taste of the ocean. Sam, the restaurant manager is a wonderful host. He really took the time in explaining to us each menu and how they were made. The whole experience is just fantastic. We highly recommend that you check out this awesome dumpling house whenever you're in the area.

The first time I came here they had a soft opening which was probably a year and a half ago? I wasn't sold and never came back but being with a different group we decided to try it again as I was craving dumplings and my usuals have been going downhill (pppop, Mr dragon). This visit was really memorable. Here's my top orders and what to avoid: Must get: -Hot and Sour soup. I know, very few people crave this but please try it and taste the difference. Not a drop left by the end. -Pan fried buns. 100x better than Kang Kang. They were soft, perfectly crunchy at the bottom and the soup juice you can see after biting the top. It wasn't heavy like other places. -Pan fried dumplings. Wow, the thin skin perfectly holding this together is impressive. Excellent taste and delicate. -Taiwanese cabbage. How they make cabbage so freaking good is beyond me. Excellent seasoning, slight natural sweetness. Good bite and quantity. So so: -Scallion pancake. Overly fried, a bit too chewy from the standard. Skip:-Fried rice with pork chop. Tasteless fried rice and underwhelming pork chop.Overall great and will visit again to try the xlb.

The dumplings here are totally legit!!! I really enjoyed the soup dumplings. The wrapper was thin and light. The filling had the requisite soup squirt with balanced flavoring. We got the pork one, which was a bit more dense than I prefer. Next time, we'll have to try the other seafood options. The flavors are all on point for all of the dishes that we ordered. Service was attentive and polite. Very nice for a local joint like this. The place was crowded, but the wait wasn't too bad. Restaurant is new so everything is still sparking and clean, including the restrooms. Very loud during lunch so a bit difficult to hear your company. Overall, definitely worth a return trip.

Been seeing this place on social media and was finally able to come and see what the hype was about. The hype is REAL!!! This place really is a Ding Tai Fung dupe. Service was fast, kind (shockingly), and effective.XLBs were filled with lots of tasty and well-balanced soup. Pork was fragrant and umami. Skin was thin. Highly recommend getting the Taiwanese cabbage as it was super garlicky and flavorful. Skip the green onion pancake - crispy but not a lot of green onion flavor at all. Ja Jiang mien had great bouncy noodles and well-seasoned sauce. Beef rolls were a solid 3.5/5 but needed more cilantro and sauce. Really enjoyed my time here and would come again.

I've heard about this spot through friends, and can't believe I missed this spot in this plaza so many times before! The interior is modern and well lit, with a glass viewing area of where dumplings are made, similar to DTF. There was definitely a line during Saturday lunch rush, but didn't take too long. The service was actually really friendly, I was pleasantly impressed. The food here didn't just reign, it ruled. The crab roe XLB was my favorite, the flavor is on point to Shanghai, but the color didn't have a signature yellow. I enjoyed all the dumpling dishes here. There's a good amount of dessert XLB too from red bean to chocolate. The roasted black sesame was bold and memorable. Their veggies and fried rice were really good. The braised pork and pan fried buns knocked off a star though only because it can't match my mom's cooking or what I grew up with in Shanghai.Overall, really good Chinese food and well valued & Id definitely revisit with friends to order a feast again.

Came here for dinner and it was packed. I don't think this place accepts reservations, but we waited probably 45 minutes before getting seated. This restaurant is located in a plaza, so there's other shops/markets in the area to walk around to pass time and there's ample parking. The hostess was really nice while we were waiting and offered us chairs to sit. You can tell he really cares about his guests. Once we got seated at our table, we had great service. Garlic string beans (5/5): This is a classic dish, and it's really good. Very flavorful with garlic and portion size is good. Fried rice cakes with shrimp (5/5): Really good, the rice cakes were lightly crispy on the outside but still so chewy. The shrimps were also good. Pork XLB (5/5): These were good, the dough isn't as thick which I like. The dumplings were also pretty big and juicy. Spicy pork and shrimp wontons (5/5): Delicious! It was really flavorful and I liked the chili oil. Ribs (3/5): This was my least favorite dish overall. The meat was tender but the sauce was okay. Overall my experience here was great. There seems to always be a long line and I'm not sure if they take reservations prior, so you might have to wait awhile if you want to come here during peak hours. The dishes were good and the portion sizes were big. The service was also good. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in the area.

Don't let the nondescript drab facade put you off, this place makes food that will impress and delight your tastebuds. Once inside the place is decent clean and open, not much in the way of fancy decor...but who cares...everything we tried was delicious and some so unique I think a snack food trend could start right here...and bonus!! As you enter, you can watch dumplings being made thru a wide observation window. There were two items we ordered that I'd never seen before. The panfried pork bao...beautfully formed, little white bao with a sprinkle of black sesame seeds on top, and a cute bottom of white sesame seeds...bite into the bao and it squirts soup like XLB...in fact it's like XLB but with bread no wrapper. Gosh it was a delight and fun to eat. 5/5Also unusual was the mini stuffed bun like a pita but more luxurious and warm and kinda crunchy on the outside... it was stuffed with a mildly spicy beef that resembled roast beef and some kind of veggie, omg, here's when I thought street snack food heaven...5/5 interesting comvo of cold and hot...like a sandwich, yet more than a sandwich. Also has eye appeal too. We ordered the panfried pork dumplings. 5/5...also a glistening veggie dish 5/5, nice garlic flavor, perfectly cooked, not overdone tho not al dente either. 5/5 also had the rice cake medallions with chicken and veggies...the rice cakes are chewy, as they should be and it was good and not overly dressed with salt or soy sauce. Good restraint from the chef. 5/5Big shoutout for the scallion pancake, very crispy... not greasy...if you pick it up like a slice of pizza, it doesn't droop or drip. Best scallion pancakes I've had since NYC. 5/5 do yourself a favor and order the scallion pancake!!The service was friendly and super uber helpful. The food came out fast and hot. Plenty of parking outside. Plenty of space to accommodate large parties inside...the ambiance isn't fancy...but the food is yum and charming and unique. Highly recommend. Thanks fellow Yelpies for putting this place on my radar.
