I hadn't been to this restaurant since it opened, years ago. When I was invited to celebrate my cousin's birthday here, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to reconnect with the community and revisit a local eatery. We were seated outside on the heated patio, a nice atmosphere, but seating was to close to the next patrons for MY liking. After a few minutes, our waitress came to the table, but from that point on, the service was lackluster and a vanishing act. We placed our orders for beverages and meals, and waited, and waited, and waited...then appeared the lost waitstaff with a half full cup of warm water and tea tray, however, the rest of the table was left to continue waiting for their drinks. Finally, food and drinks arrived! However, nothing to eat with and no waitress to ask. In the end, I'm not sure if I had brisket or oxtail on my grilled cheese, but I had more fat than meat. I won't be back soon!

Brunch review. The food is delicious. The portions are small. The prices would be fair if the portions were larger. The shrimp and grits portion doesn't even cover the full bottom of the already small bowl. It's like two spoons' worth of grits. Are they good - SO VERY! But for two tablespoons of grits, 5 nuggets of catfish, 1 scrambled egg, and 1 piece of bacon - $29 just doesn't sit well in my spirit. I'm not even no cheap ass patron - I will pay! But I should've been more full than I was after eating that food. This isn't me being greedy - this is just not equitable. My server, Reagan was THE BEST! Shout to Reagan!

I've been to Post & Beam several times for brunch especially and service seems to definitely be declining. To be honest, the food used to be able to make up for the lackluster service...however today's visit was quite disappointing. For starter's our server was not knowledgeable on quite a few of the dishes that we asked about and that simply makes no sense at all. If for whatever reason you haven't tasted what we're asking about, simply get a team member who has (but I digress!) Very loud and cramped inside, if you can please try to get an outside seat for weekend brunch. The live music on the weekends is still a vibe. Anyway, we had:*Deviled eggs (without catfish): Probably the worst deviled eggs I've ever had. VERY mustard heavy. *Catfish nuggets: No go for me. I didn't like the non-fresh taste. *Farmers Scramble w/potatoes: Mixed peppers and onions, cheese and CELERY! This could've been good, but I just couldn't get over the crunchy & partially cooked CELERY mixed in with my scrambled eggs. *Jerk style chicken wings: Not your traditional jerk flavor or style (which is fine), but these wings surprisingly lacked flavor and seasoning. *Hurricane cocktail: Extremely strong and disgusting. There's a difference between a good tasting strong drink and just a plain nasty drink. This had to be sent back. No one in our party enjoyed it. At all. We also couldn't get over the fact that a side of bacon (2) is $7.00 and ONE fried chicken thigh on the side is $10.00. Dining out on food is a treat and I never have a problem with paying for what I enjoy, however these two items are just grossly overpriced! Post and Beam, please go back to treating your customers right so that they will continue to visit and feel good about the money that they've spent.

Enjoyed my experience at Post & Beam. Our server was attentive and friendly. I got the Foxy Brown, which is their signature cocktail. It packs a decent punch and also tasted really good. So I got two! The shrimp and grits was decent, but I feel like the shrimp could've been seasoned more. Also wish the crispy bacon was crushed and spread over the grits instead of being a single strip of bacon on top. The wings were solid. Glad I could check out this Black-owned business before they close at the end of February.

I finally had brunch here. I got the chicken & waffles. I really like bone-in chicken, so I thought the bone-less chicken was just okay. It was seasoned really well though. The waffle was excellent. Also got bottomless mimosas. They serve it with two juices and a sparkling wine. Outdoor patio is nice but it does get really hot out there. Service was great as well. I had a reservation booked for outside, but you can probably do walk ins.

This place was a hidden gem! $7 for sausage biscuits & gravy and a pancake side for $7 was delicious! $20 for chicken & waffles. Very good pricing and good food. Make a resy before going as it gets busy! Service is a little slow so expect to wait to order. Vibe is cute inside and out.

I came here in a Sunday with no res. We were offered bar or patio. We chose the bar. I ordered a Mojito which was delish. The chicken and waffles was food, I like the seasoning on the chicken thigh. The waffle was huge and fluffy. The only thing was it took over an hour for us to get food. Service slower but the manager did check on us.
