I hesitate to write about this neighborhood gem because it already has hordes of people on the sidewalk waiting to get in at peak times. As the Trattoria in its name indicates, It is a simple, no frills establishment - one where you can count on getting consistent, authentic Italian cuisine executed perfectly every time. The portions are filling and prices fair. You start the meal by being served freshly baked Italian bread to dip in olive oil and whet your appetite while perusing a surprisingly large menu. They also have a few specials every night, including some of the best lasagna I have ever had. Favorites include the linguine pescatore, farfalle con pollo, chicken picatta, chicken alla parmigiana, linguine bolognese, burrata e pomodori salad and garlic bread. They have a small wine and beer menu and a few desserts as well. If you like tiramisu, you will not find a better one in LA than the one served here. The owner, Davide, is a charming and kind soul who mans the front of the house most weekends. Service is efficient in a team concept, but the entrees are all made to order so they do take a bit of time to cone out. The ambience is definitely not fancy, but clean and well maintained. They do pack tables fairly close together though to accommodate as many as possible in a relatively small space. If you are in or near the Westwood area, Pomodoro should be a must stop for authentic Italian cuisine in a casual setting.

For example: $21.25 for linguine alle vognole. The market value of 1/2 lb of littleneck clams is $3.00.The market value of 1/2 lb of linguine is $1.50.A bit of garlic, olive oil, and parsley...let's say $0.50.So what exactly costs $16.25? Boiling water?Math, people.

Nestled in the heart of Westwood, we stumbled upon a charming Italian gem that feels like a true taste of Italy. With only about 15 tables, the restaurant offers an intimate and cozy atmosphere that instantly transports you to a small trattoria in the Italian countryside. Our experience started off perfectly with a warm, attentive, and funny server who made us feel right at home. For our meal, we ordered the penne with turkey sausage, insalata pomodoro, and the spaghetti Mediterranean. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and portioned just right--enough to satisfy without overwhelming. To complement the meal, we selected a $30 bottle of wine, which was an excellent pairing and added to the overall authentic experience. Each bite and sip made it clear this place values quality ingredients and traditional preparation.I love discovering places like this--unassuming yet packed with personality and passion. This quaint spot truly felt like a little slice of Italy, and we can't wait to return. If you're in the area, don't miss it!

came here for dinner and tried the fresh gnocchi. It was absolutely delicious. The service was really friendly and attentive. Has a really old world Italy feel here. They value keeping it traditional and quaint. There's a lot of different styles of pasta here and flavors of sauces. Ranges from pesto tomato, and basil, vodka sauce, etc. I got the gnocchi because they said they made it fresh daily, which was pretty cool. It literally was too delicious. I really want to go back here soon and have some more gnocchi. I got the gnocchi with chicken and it was a good portion, I only ate half. For parking I just parked on the side street, but you can also park on the main street. This is a must try!

Great experience here on a Saturday evening. A nice crowd of locals. The staff were helpful and friendly, Felipe had a sense of humor also. We had the Spaghetti Mediterranean and the Penne con Turkey sausage. Both were delicious and freshly cooked to perfection! The Insalata Pomodoro was good also, light and tasty. They give bread and wifey had a bottle of Rose wine ($30). Small and quaint with a great menu. We will return. Go and try it out folks, you won't be disappointed....

My friends and I came here for dinner last Friday night. We were looking for somewhere quick to eat before going out. We were seated very quickly without much wait, but it took about 40 minutes to get our food after ordering. Overall the pastas were solid but not amazing. I would still come back though because the prices are very reasonable.

It's a cute and cozy little Iralian restaurant on Westwood. There is easy parking on the street and at night, it's free. It's right on the corner and they do not take reservations. A small table is out front with a lust that you add your own name to. First cone, first served. There was a party of three before us, but since they had room for two people, we were seated. It's pretty loud inside as they try to pack in as many tables as they can. They immediately take your drink order and bring them quickly. Next a server comes by and tells you the specials, and then your waiter comes by to take your order. We each got a glass of wine, and a salad. You can get each salad large or small. The small is plenty. I had a very fresh caesar and my wife had the Bietole E Noci (has roasted red beets) and they were both good. We split the Gnocchi Scampi and the Gnocchi All'arrabbiata. Their gnocchi is made fresh every day so why go with anything else. The gnocchi was light and fluffy and plentiful. The scampi dish had a ton of sizable pieces of fresh shrimp in it and the all'arrabbiata had a nice kick. Their fresh bread that had a nice crunch to the crust and soft inside easily aided in stemming the heat. We wanted dessert as everything looked delicious but were totally full. The staff was friendly, quick, and helpful in finding the perfect order. The crowd is mostly UCLA students. If you're in the area or not, stop by and have a fantastic meal freshly made that day. You will walk away full and satisfied. And in your happy place. For me, I'm sad they don't gave a location near me in Illinois as they are hands down my new favorite Italian restaurant.

We came last Friday night and waited about 5 mins. Wine was cheap per glass. I got a white and my boyfriend got a red. Both were really good and of quality. Service was a little slow. Waiter didn't come until 30ish minutes in. But they did give us free bread and refills. We didn't get appetizers but ended up dining for over 1.5 hrs for just pasta. I got the vongole and it was amazing, one of the best I've had. My boyfriend got the arriabata gnocchi and said it was super good. We ended up sitting outside which was nice. They have individual heaters for each table! I would definitely come back!
