It was our first time here and we weren't sure whether we'd find parking. We lucked out but heads up--street parking can be challenging since it's beside a residential neighborhood. You order first and the cashier gives you a table number. Everyone was kind in answering questions as it was our first time there. Service was quick despite them being busy with delivery service/togo orders. The tables had condiments, napkins and utensils available. Self serve water was also available by the counter. We ordered hot and iced tea, spicy peanuts, beef noodle soup, eggplant with basil and rice, and shrimp wontons. Everything was tasty. We had their Alishan Jin Xuan (hot tea) and their passion fruit black tea (iced).Shrimp wontons and peanuts were so delicious and I think I'll reorder them next time.We also had their beef noodle soup which seemed pretty popular; saw a few more tables ordering it. The basil eggplant serving size was plenty to share. We ordered enough to try and enjoy but also take home for left overs. Can't wait to return and try more of their menu with friends.

Pine and Crane? More like I'm pine-ing for this restaurant! Right when you walk in, you can see the beautiful interior + ambience. I enjoyed how there was constant chatter and the vibes just felt so nice. I liked how there was a community table in case people wanted to find seats + eat right away. Even though the restaurant was booming with to-go orders, they still had fast service with the food! Also the prices are amazing! I enjoyed how they have sets of things to sell, such as their chili oil, products and drinks! Most of the food items were below $15 so the food being affordable AND good quality is just chefs kiss! The food I ordered: -Peanut Salad ($6.50)-Dan Dan Noodles ($12.00)-Beef Noodle Soup ($15.00)-Sea Salt Cream Black Tea ($4.50) The Peanut Salad was really tasty + good with the chili oil. Only side note is that I wasn't expecting it to be mostly peanuts. So it's a nice side dish or topping for the Dan Dan Noodles. I would rate it 8.5/10. Not only were the Dan Dan Noodles aesthetic, but also yummy too! I loved the peanut sauce and the cucumber toppings. I would rate this dish a 9/10! The Beef Noodle Soup was so good I wanted seconds. The beef was so tender and the noodles were soft and chewy where they seemed hand pulled. My only note is that the soup was not really hot, but other than that it was really good! I would rate it 9.5/10. Lastly, the Sea Salt Cream Black Tea was good. It tastes like regular black milk tea. It had a subtle refreshing taste. I would rate it 7.5/10.

My husband and I decided to try this place after a short hike and Griffith observatory. We had our two dogs so sat outside. If you sit outside, they package it for takeout. They provided utensils and a small bowl so that we can eat outside. Unfortunately, the food was not authentic at all. Dan Dan noodles: A lot of peanut butter.Shrimp wontons: Come in a very mild spicy sauce. Overall ok. Not much flavor other than boiled shrimp. Three cup jidori chicken: tasted slightly sweet, with very mild overall flavor. Tasted like a chicken dish you can easily replicate at home. Basil eggplant: this was both of our favorite dish, probably the only authentic tasting dish Kabocha pot stickers: this was our least favorite dish. Had veggies but extremely bland. For everyone comparing this place to Din Tai Fung, don't. Din Tai Fung has 10x the flavor. Service was very good.

Food: 5/5We ordered the dan dan noodles, pork buns, and mapo tofu! Everyone was amazing and at a good price too. Perfect comfort food, warm, and seasoned perfectly. My favorite was the Dan Dan! It had the perfect peanut butter flavor, the buns were crispy on the outside, and the mapo had lots of flavor. Definitely order a few dishes and share :)Service: 5/5It gets really busy but they seat you as fast as possible! Accurate wait time and once you're seated food comes out fast.Ambiance: 5/5Inside is so cute! Love the plants and excited to come back. Definitely hard to find parking though.

We often stop by here when visiting our daughter in Echo Park. It's great because it has some vegan options for her, which are all as tasty as the regular Taiwanese dishes. It's in a fun location in Silver Lake where there are a lot of places to eat and walk around. It's counter service with friendly and helpful staff. They food comes out quickly and always fresh and hot.

I would quantify the experience a bit hectic since I'm not familiar enough with silver lake so finding parking was a challenge in itself. Ordering was straight forward enough. Order and pay at the counter, give us a number and wait outside in the freezing cold till a table is cleared for us. The staff was pretty accurate in terms of estimating the timing of the flow. But just as we were about to freeze our butts off outside it was almost our turn to be seated. I did ask if out dine-in order could be converted to take out, but apparently that does a re-queue so it would've been an additional 20 minutes separate queue, but ironically in less than 10 min our food appeared when we sat down, which was less than the 20 min. Food was honestly alright for trying to grab chinese food in the area where there wasn't chinese food to begin with. It's authenticate enough to the point that the flavor profile is correct. Would I come back, no, not really since there's better chinese food in LA. This was a place and time thing so it'll remain an experience. Please get some outdoor heaters so we don't freeze brrrrr...

This is my first fusion Taiwanese experience and it was pleasantly nice! Came here with a party of 2. FOODI liked everything minus the pork bao. The pork back unfortunately lacked flavor for me and it tasted frozen (not fresh). The other dishes, however, exceeded my expectations. The Dan Dan noodles had an extra creamy peanut aroma that I loved. The beef rolls were fresh and delicious. The noodles in the beef broth were chewy which I loved. There was also no after taste with the beef broth. SERVICEStaff was attentive and the food came out very quickly. We had a rocky table and two staff immediately noticed and fixed it for us. We also had all of our dishes within ten minutes. PARKINGParking is probably the toughest part. We came on a Wednesday night around 6pm and we were lucky to find one available street parking. WOULD I COME BACK?Yes! Would love to get the Dan Dan noodles and beef rolls again.

Came here with my wife for a late lunch and this place was still pretty busy with a short line, which is usually a good sign. Parking wasn't too hard to find in this area, and there were a lot of interesting places to see and walk around here. Inside is aesthetic and you order at the counter, grab your utensils, then head to your table and wait for your food to arrive. We were warmly greeted by the workers here, and since they heard it was our first time here, they offered some free cold appetizers for us to try.Food-wise, the beef rolls were amazing. We loved that there were a lot of cucumbers in it, and it mixed well with the beef and the sauce. We felt that the beef noodle soup was a bit lacking in flavor and that it seemed pretty safe, but wasn't bad. Shrimp wontons had a good mix of flavors and was one of the dishes that stood out to us. We felt that the Taiwanese flavors here were captured pretty well.If I'm in the Silverlake area and craving Taiwanese food, I would come back here. This place definitely is one of the better Taiwanese restaurants I have been to. Pine and Crane lived up to what I had heard, a solid Taiwanese food spot in LA.

A bit of a wait since the place is tiny but everyone there is lovely and helpful in ensuring you can get a seat!We ordered the pan fried baos, basil eggplant, 3 cup jidori chicken, and beef roll. Everything was delicious and savory! We had a ton of leftovers but they tasted great the next day.Parking is the worst. Most street parking is available only before 8PM. The roads are tight and can only fit one car so be prepared to stop to the side. Lots of up and down hills as well.

One word: disappointment. As someone who visits Taiwan bi-annually and has sampled most Taiwanese restaurants in SoCal, this place ranks low on my list. I had previously enjoyed the dan dan noodles at their DTLA location, so I'm not sure why the Silverlake location is so inconsistent.-Woodear Mushrooms: Soggy and lacking vinegar. They might have been sitting in the glass counter for too long, causing the mushrooms to release water. Either way, they didn't taste fresh.-Dan Dan Noodles: Why was the sauce so watery compared to the DTLA location? While the noodles weren't soggy, the sesame sauce, which is the heart of this dish, lacked so much flavor.-Minced Pork Rice: I grew up eating this dish, and after the first bite, I knew it was one of the least authentic versions I've had. The pork tasted like it was braised in mostly soy sauce--if they threw in a few star anise, it would have elevated the dish significantly.Overall, a disappointing experience given the hype and my previous positive experience at their DTLA location. The only positive aspects about this restaurant are the fair pricing and the service (the cashier forgot our woodear mushrooms but the server gave us the appetizer on the house--which was nice)
