With a Chicanx modern aesthetic and spectacular view of the dtla skyscrapers, you might think you have unintentionally became an extra for a up and coming Hollywood feature film. Oh, I didn't even tell you about the coffee and food! It seems like it's rare to find a cafe that serves cafe de olla (let alone a batch with warm aroma of cinnamon with a hint of orange), but look no further because not only can you get drip cafe de olla but a latte version, too. (Yes, alternative milks are available and plenty.) Before you leave, do yourself the favor and order the chilaquiles with salsa rojo. It's just as divine as the cafecitos! After finding street parking and ordering inside, I would recommend eating in so you get the best view of dtla while chances are you are bound to run into LA art royalty. Yes, I said it! That beautiful artwork hanging on the walls are made by local artists with some who are internationally well-known, like Ernesto Yerena Montejano. Performance artist Rafa Esparza frequents Piscaresca, too, and why wouldn't you be a regular there? It quickly became the hottest new coffee spot in the East LA area. Personally, I'm sooo happy it's a Latinx-owned cafe that is for and by the people. Piscaresca centers community by hosting multi-generational community events, like poetry night, every season with more on the way. It's the place to be and for good reason.

This establishment has limited parking in the front. They did have one ada parking spot. This place is on the corner of 4th and Evergreen, yes I passed it and thought I would park on the side street. Street sweeping is on Wednesdays so parking on the side street was not an option today. They have a la marzocco espresso machine so of course my lavender latte was delicious. I got it with half of the simple syrup. I love how it tastes like authentic lovely floral lavender. I also enjoyed my soyrizo and egg burrito. The flour tortilla was warm and a little chewy. It came with a tasty green sauce not too spicy just right. I believe they roast their own coffee. I will return.

First time coming here! The cafe is really cute and I liked the ambience and always love supporting Latino businesses. I got the Cafe De Olla Latte with almond milk and my friend got their Matcha Latte. We loved both the only thing was we waited for our drinks for 30 minutes and when I went up after seeing people that ordered after us getting their drinks they didn't have our orders. We didn't mind waiting but they weren't even apologetic about it which was a bit upsetting. Also, they gave us my friend drink order wrong after repeating it 3 times.

It's Saturday morning, 8 am, and my go to coffee shop has line of 25+ patrons and no parking.. So, I remembered that I bookmarked Picaresca Barra De Cafe months ago. We headed north on Sante Fe and east on 4th trekking into Boyle Heights. Picaresca (for short), is that teal looking building on the northeast corner of 4th & Evergreen. Glad we came here because I'm now addicted to their coffee and chiccharon burrito. Chiccharon burrito with crispy pork, fried egg, whole black beans, Chihuahua cheese is delicious and comforting especially with that red salsa sauce marinating into the chiccharon skin. Machaca burrito is good too but chiccharon burrito leaves me thinking about this place. The coffee here is great, and coffee beans are straight from the farm. Yup, they roast their own here. First cup I had here is from Columbia, Finca El Diviso. Solid, very good with floral, lychee and apples notes. I was pretty amazed. The do sell coffee here that they roast ($18 - $26) which is a fair price for single origin coffee. This cafe is very homely and the owners and patrons are warm, down to earth and friendly. I've been here 6 times in two weeks and had warm conversations with the patrons here.

I got a breakfast burrito and the hash browns were crispy, egg was cooked perfect and the red salsa was spicy with great flavor. Definitely would come again. Inside looks like a cute coffee shop you could work in. Service was super fast and I was in and out within 5 minutes!

Great drinks and great food. Love coming here for their breakfast burritos. So flavorful and a huge portion. Cute interior for a quick bite/coffee date but not the best for studying or work as there are no outlets or wifi. They have a small patio out front as well. Parking can be tricky.

California knows how to partyIn the city of L.A...Cafe de olla is my jam just like some 2PAC! Tried the Cafe de Olla Latte since it seemed to be popular on reviews. Glad I gave it a shot definitely good flavor. They do have a Cafe De Olla if you just want to be OG. Breakfast Chicharrón burrito is delicious! Add the red salsa they give you to enhance the flavor. Good sized burrito that has a good amount of chicharrón. I grabbed the coffee and burrito for the road. Parking is tight but there is street parking so be patient. There are complimentary cups for water inside. Seating both inside and outdoors with covering from the Sunshine State. Service was fast and the cashier was very helpful in giving me their most popular items to eat. They also advertise for upcoming events in the city. Glad I stopped by and tried this spot!
