Fantastic DineLA optionI have shockingly never been here before. Shame on me. Came in as a party of 4 for dinner on a Friday. Our entire party opted for the DineLA dinner special. Worked out perfectly for our group that got to order everything we wanted. Of the 4 starters, my personal favorite was the tuna tartare. We were all fighting for that last bite. For our mains, we got 2 pastas a chicken and a fish dish. The spicy penne was my favorite. The fish was a close second. There were only 2 options for dessert so we ended up getting 2 of each. My pick was the panna cotta. Excellent service.

Had this place listed on places I needed to go try, and they had a DineLA menu, so we went to finally check it out. Had a reservation so we were seated right away. The restaurant was pretty crowded, but it was the weekend, so... expected. When our server for to the take, he brought water and we were ready to order. We started with the tuna tartar and the meat balls. The meatballs were bite sized and very moist, with good flavor. A nice bite each time. The tuna tartar was presented very nicely sitting on a bed of avocado which gave it that extra life in terms of flavor. For entrees, the Gnocchetti al Fumo was recommended and, while decent, it really didn't stand out to me. The guanciale pink sauce was good but it just didn't hit like I had hoped based on the enthusiasm of the recommendation. The branzino, likewise, was underwhelming. Just felt very basic and would have loved to have a crispy skin on the fish. As for dessert, the Panna Cotta also felt underwhelming, yet the salame di Cioccolata was different and tasty. Overall, the restaurant, at least the DineLA menu, didn't live up to the expectations I had for the place. I may go back and try a pizza or two but, with so many Italian restaurants in LA, hard to recommend you running out and eating here

I used to really like this place in my early twenties, but now in my thirties, it didn't hit the same. I think I've had better pasta like Basta Restaurant in Agoura Hills since then, and that's why I was left feeling underwhelmed after my most recent visit. I really liked their squid ink pasta, but after having it again, it was alright. The tomatoes didn't have much flavor, so overall the taste was bland. The shrimp was cooked just right though. I tried their octopus salad, but the octopus was so cooked through that it had almost no texture. Portions run small for the price.Definitely still like their tirmisu and panna cotta. I especially liked the thick creamy layers and the way it blended with the cake layers in the tiramisu.

I do enjoy this restaurant but last time I went, we stood up front for a good 10 minutes before we were acknowledged and greeted. We didn't get any bread and it took forever for us to order. I definitely think they are understaffed. Food is good.

Ambiance is nice. They have two rooms. The crostino was good but it was missing something. After discussing, it was the lack of honey. It needed more of it to balance the meat portion out. Pasta was good - came out hot! So at least it wasn't sitting out for a bit. Tiramisu was delicious. Server was nice. Meal plus tip was $150. (Wine not pictured)

Upsetting experience today. Wanted to try the Dine LA menu for lunch but they claimed they were not offering it right now. Doesn't make sense to me. If you don't want to offer it then don't participate in Dine LA?!Dine LA just started and I've driven past Osteria Mamma many times so their name caught my eye when I was looking at the list of participating restaurants.Their Dine LA online menu says lunch is 11am-4:30pm. I went in around 1:30pm. Only one table of two in the whole restaurant. I'm seated and they hand me the regular menus, the Dine LA menu is not one of them. That is fine as I have experienced some restaurants don't provide the Dine LA menu unless requested.I ask about the Dine LA menu and the waitress said "we are not offering that right now" and I clarify even the lunch one (since it was lunch time)? The waitress responded "our manager said we are not offering the lunch one until later...maybe around 3pm" and honestly I was shocked. You only have one table and you don't want to offer something that you signed up to participate in. Also what's the different between offering it at 1:30pm vs 3pm on the same day? Again, only one table was seated and already eating in the whole entire empty restaurant. So I was like oh ok, and left the restaurant. On the way out the waitress made a weird face as if walking out of a restaurant before ordering was the most offensive thing she has ever witnessed. Attaching the Dine LA menu that I did NOT get to try. :(

The diavolino pizza and pasta were so delicious! I met a friend here to catch up and we almost closed the place down with the friendly and polite service, the quiet and distinct ambience, perfect lighting. We drank a nice Prosecco and have the pear salad, which I would have liked a little more salt and pepper and a fresher pear, but it was still good. I added the seasoning and all was well with it. I would definitely go back and try something else or go on a date here. It's very nice. Highly recommend.

Service was awful. Was completely ignored and had to keep asking for them to do their job. At one point I heard the waitress tell her staff to let her know in advance if the guest is for dine LA. As if it makes a huge difference? Not sure if they are just understaffed or if they just dislike people who are doing Dine LA??? But the last two times I've gone, It's been really frustrating... like I get it, it's a cheaper bill than usual. But at least be nice to the patrons and the buss boys. The waitress just made my entire lunch very uncomfortable. If you don't feel like having a cheaper menu... don't participate

A friend booked dinner reservations for a few of us here and I was intrigued since I hadn't been to Osteria Mamma, but I would quickly wish we hadn't eaten here at all. The service wasn't bad, and the ambiance was cozy (although the restaurant did get a little warm and stuffy). The food was very disappointing, most of it was bland and not that appetizing, paired with the fact it wasn't really worth the prices and it really added to the disappointment. I would skip this place and save yourself the trouble. I could maybe recommend coming here for a drink or something, but even then I think there are many better options in the area.Food: 2/5Service: 4/5Ambiance: 3/5Value: 1/5Overall: 2/5

Went here for a solo dinner night. Started off with their complimentary bread and it was so delicious. (Tip: save a piece or two to use when your pasta dish comes!) Ordered the short rib pasta and was obsessed! Topped with some parmesan and it's even more flavorful. The frittura mista was actually way yummier than expected. Whatever they fry it in made the shrimp and calamari super flavorful and it had the perfect crunch. Not a shrimp fan but really enjoyed this one. The place is dimly lit but perfect for a date night, girls night or dinner with the fam. Pretty versatile ambiance. Love where i sat as someone who is a people watcher especially on a solo date. The only reason keeping this from 5 stars was that towards the end of the night my server was hard to find and I was waiting to cash out for a while. Other than that loved everything else!
