OO-KOOK Korean BBQ - San Gabriel

Parking: Challenging, especially when it's busy.Service: Audrey was excellent--very attentive, checked on us regularly, and changed our grill often.Wait: We went on a Friday night at 6:30 pm and there was no wait, but the lines began to form around 7:30 pm. More convenient to reserve or join the waitlist through Yelp.Food: We weren't provided salad with the sides like the other tables. The salad has a strong sesame oil flavor. Orders were quick to arrive at our table after ordering. The meat was great. Expect to smell like KBBQ afterward!Overall, I recommend this place and would return.

Last night was my first time coming here. I called around 7:30pm to see how long the wait was for a party of 3, there was no wait so my family and I headed on over. Upon arrival they set up our table and we were sat immediately. Quickly we were greeted and asked if we were ready to order any meat and were told about the self service area. We ordered Brisket , Bulgogi and NY Steak to start off. I headed over to the self serve area and got some veggies and steamed rice.They also had fried rice available, some egg rolls, other sauces , etc. When I got back to the table the meat was already there , it came out very quickly. The salad was good, I loved the kimchi and cucumbers. I did think the potato salad was a little plain but everything else was good. Overall we enjoyed our dinner , the meat and sides were good. I would eat here again.

So far, this has been the best K-BBQ I've had in the L.A. area. The pricing is excellent, the service is excellent and the food is amazing! My top 3 when it comes to their meats are.1. Marinated Boneless Short Ribs2. Marinated Thin Slice Beef3. Beef brisketBut honestly all of their cuts are good, if you're in the area, you will not be disappointed by OO-KOOK K-BBQ.

I remembered this place used to be good. Now I feel like the quality of the meat has gone down. The beef brisket & beef belly is my fav items to order at kbbq places, but the meat tasted rough. After our meal we weren't satisfied. Next time I rather pay more and go up the street to Baekjeong. Service was great! We came on Christmas night which wasn't as busy but the servers were attentive. They kept checking in on us if we wanted to order more or if we needed anything. We kept asking for refills on our sides and they brought them promptly. I have to say we had great service!

San Gabriel always has some tasty food. Oo-Kook is a yummy all-you-can-eat BBQ. Came here for dinner with a group of friends to enjoy a nice meal here. Plenty of people and this place is busy. They have large televisions posted on the walls and it was playing the Dodger game. That is also a plus! They have their menus online and most of what we got was beef belly, beef tongue, brisket, spicy marinated short rib, and regular short rib. Overall the quality of meat was pretty good. I would come back and our party also wouldn't mind coming here. Service was super quick. They also have a self-serving bar area that has other items or sides to get.

I've been here several times and it's gone downhill a bit each time I've gone. The quality has plummeted to a no frills location. They no longer have garlic. Who doesn't have garlic at a Korean bbq spot. The quality of meats are not the best but it doable if you're in the area. Service is still good as they do come around frequently to check on you. They're always checking in on us to change the grill as it gets black and hard to cook on. They do have an area to get cooked items and pineapple to simmer at the end of our meal. Show up early to get your seats before it gets packed. Parking is pretty good so you don't have to worry they will be out of parking. No actual street parking but if you are unlucky then park across the street at the Hats parking lot.

Update: I am retracting my statement. Oo Kook added back the sliced pork jowl & garlic to their menu.

Family wanted to come here and try. It's located in a busy shopping plaza. It's hard to find parking after 630pm. If you can, go at 5 ish. As we entered, it's the large restaurant with dim fluorescent lighting like entering a club. The service was good. Food came out quickly. The quality of shrimp could be better. The rest of the food was okay. The stove flame could be better. The food was cooking unevenly. It wasn't too hot in some parts of the stove and the ventilation from the food cooking was poor. There's no vent to vacuum upwards. AC wasn't working too good. Our family was hot and choking on the gas fumes. As it got busier, the smoke was among us all. There was one vent, it's called the front door. The tables and chairs could use upgrading or clean. Chair frames were sticky. Restrooms needs upgrading. We were not too happy at the end.

Fantastic give me 14 of them.My favorite KBBQ place. I like their meat choices and the salad section is really good too. Wait staff is good and I like that you can join the wait list ahead of arrival time so it's super convenient.

Food, condiments, salad bar so delicious. Service is amazing, fabulous team effort. We were here a couple of weeks ago and had to come back. Didn't disappoint. Everyone is so happy and friendly. Everyone walking pass our table was always looking for empty plates and asking if everything was ok and if we needed something. Best I've been to with the amount of times that they changed the grill. Nice ambiance but super smoky. But the quality is so good makes it part of the experience. Lol
