Novo Cafe

This place was highly recommended to me by a friend and is very convenient to my job so my husband and I decided to drop in for a weeknight dinner. They have a mix of inside and outdoor seating (with heaters) and had no problems getting seated right away. Once we were seated the service was a little slow to get menus and water but after we ordered the waitstaff were very attentive throughout the night. The food was very tasty! We got the Pizza Ruggola and Spaghetti Clams & Calamari. I honestly don't have a favorite and if it's your first time here I would definitely recommend getting a pizza and pasta so you can get both. Overall the noodles tasted really fresh and the goat cheese on the pizza was the perfect pop of taste. Pricing wise it's just a little on the pricey side but not terribly crazy.

We've been coming here somewhat regularly for the last 4 years. Friendly staff. Attentive. Decent food. We aren't a big group or demanding in any way. Just 2 adults and a well behaved kid. An easy table for most. Tonight we came and received good service from a server named Gabriel. Except when the bill came, I noticed the total was a bit high. I checked closer and Gabriel had included an automatic gratuity of 20% on our bill. I was a little put off considering we weren't a large or demanding table, but servers deserve tips, so I made no issue of it. That is, until Gabriel ran the card and returned with the final check to be signed. Conveniently, the itemized check with the 20% tip line item was no where to be found. Instead, all he gave was a receipt with a total and a big blank gratuity line. I signed the bill and circled the total with a note that a 20% gratuity had been included already. Then I went up to the counter and asked for the itemized receipt. The woman behind the counter was kind enough, but then I asked when they had changed their policy about including mandatory gratuity. Her eyes grew wide and she lowered her gaze as she shook her head and mumbled about how it was not policy, but it was done by our waiter. Gabriel quickly hurried over when he saw this and asked what was wrong, to which I told him he forgot my itemized receipt with the final bill. His eyes grew wide too and he started fumbling through excuses while at the same time claiming he had actually given it. Needless to say, it was glaringly obvious what he was up to as I pointed out the included gratuity note on my final bill. The most disturbing part of the whole exchange was the fact that other workers around him all seemed to understand what was happening. All with the same guilty look as they listened to me calmly talk about the "error". The shift manager beside him printed an itemized receipt for me and Gabriel asked if I would like for him to remove the tip. I told him to keep it and went on my way.So, for anyone who wants to eat here. Be warned. If they think they can get away with it, they may try to trick you into double tipping. They also appear to be charging more for entrees than the price they have in their menus. Almost every item we had was price between $2 to $4 more than what they had in their menu.Needless to say, while this has been our go-to spot for the last 4 years for a casual italian dinner, we will no longer be coming here. Real pity.

Went to novo today for lunch And Tanya made our dining experience... As of late dining out has lost a certain level of customer service And thankfully Tanya still has it. She made sure we had everything we needed with a smile and was constantly working to make sure things were clean and tidyThank you Tanya We will be back because of you

We ordered food, ate, and then ordered additional dishes and drinks. When another person was supposed to join us, the waiter suggested we move to a bigger table for comfort. We agreed, thinking they would simply move our food to the new table. However, when we moved, the waiter just handed us a new menu and asked us to order everything again. Meanwhile, our food and drinks were taken to the kitchen or thrown away, even though they weren't even half eaten. We couldn't figure out whether this is the cafe's policy or just a mistake by the waiter. Either way, this kind of service left us with a very bad impression and disappointed us.

The pasta was hard. The shrimp was hard. 4 pieces of shrimp. The sauce was decent. I needed to add parm and chili flakes to consume. I wouldn't recommend this dish.I had the pink panther drink. That was good

My first experience here in 2021 blew me away! I loved the quaint feel of the outdoor patio, and how the service was top notch. I remembered the perfect crust on the cheesy pizza and how the pasta melted in my mouth. We returned last night for a birthday dinner with family. We made a reservation and we were seated on the patio. Our server attended to all of our drinks and we ordered lots of food. We had the mozzarella sticks, cheese pizza, a gluten free vegetable pizza, the Burrata toast (wow!!!) and lots of pasta dishes. We ordered the salmon, I had the carbonara pasta gluten free with a ball of Burrata on the side, we had the bolognese pasta, and the Caprese chicken with potatoes. All of the dishes were devoured! I can't say enough nice things about this restaurant. I will 100% return. Quality of food, portions, service, atmosphere all deserves a 10/10

I had the pleasure of dining at Novo Cafe, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! I ordered the butter sage ravioli, and let me tell you, it was absolutely divine. The ravioli was perfectly cooked, with a rich, buttery sauce that had just the right amount of sage. Each bite was a delightful burst of flavor. Parking was a breeze as well--there's plenty of street parking available, which made my visit even more enjoyable. The service at Novo Cafe was another highlight. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that I had everything I needed throughout my meal. It's clear that they take pride in providing excellent customer service.The ambiance is lively and inviting, making it a great spot for a casual dinner or to catch up with friends. Plus, the prices are reasonable for the quality of food and service you receive. If you're looking for a fantastic dining experience, I highly recommend checking out Novo Cafe!

We had dinner at Novo yesterday and wow was it good. The eatery is clean and very pretty.The service was the best. Our server was very nice and got our order right and made a great suggestion.All of the food we had was wonderful. We each had pasta and were so happy with our choices. The chicken parm is just lovely and so tender with the most wonderful pasta and the drunken sea pasta was fantastic.You order at the counter and a lovely person bring you the food. And also try their cheesecake, it was so so good.

Cute little cafe with an expansive menu. We stopped in for a quick dessert and were pleasantly surprised with the variety of options. The waitstaff was kind and friendly. We were seated and served quickly. Would definitely recommend a stop if you're in Burbank!

All 7 members of our family loved the fit food. That NEVER happens. Pizzas, pastas, salads and desserts were all excellent. And the service was wonderful. Best thing is that the gluten free pizza crust and gluten free noodles were also both amazing.
