I always go to this restaurant for their dim sum in the morning and decided to go for dinner this time. It's definitely a good decision, their food is really good.I tried their eggplants with minced meat which is not on the menu but got recommended by the server. The sauce is absolutely amazing. It has spicy flavors, umami flavor and hint of sour.I also tried their pecking duck. This is the best!! The skin is so crispy and the meat is so juicy. Eat it with the bun, scallions, and delicious brown sauce. It's super delicious!! The service is fast but some server doesn't really speak English. Overall we got a good experience and delicious food.Well come again for sure to try their other menu!!

New Capital Seafood is a solid spot for dim sum, offering a wide selection of fresh and flavorful dishes. I came here for a weekend meal and tried several items, including the pork bun, egg tart, beef ribs, and shrimp balls. Everything came out hot and tasted fresh, which made for a satisfying experience. The pork buns were soft and had a nice balance of sweetness and savory filling. The egg tarts had a delicate, flaky crust with a smooth custard that wasn't overly sweet. The beef ribs were tender and packed with flavor, and the shrimp balls had a light, bouncy texture that made them easy to enjoy.Service was efficient despite the busy atmosphere. The staff kept the carts moving, and it didn't take long to get what we wanted. Some carts came by more frequently than others, but the servers were accommodating when we asked for specific dishes. The restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of seating, though it does get loud during peak hours. The energy adds to the experience if you enjoy the lively dim sum scene. It's a good place for groups, and the turnover ensures that dishes stay fresh.Overall, it's a great choice for classic dim sum with a wide variety of options. The food was well-prepared, service was quick, and the bustling atmosphere made it feel like an authentic experience. Would definitely come back.

Ambiance - typical large Chinese restaurant Service - excellent service; our waiter was very attentive, always filled our water glasses, swift serviceFood - we ordered French style beef (5/5), honey walnut shrimp (5/5), hot and sour soup (5/5), house special crispy chow mein (5/5). This restaurant had generous portion servings compared to KW Cafe in Nogales and Colima. Everything we ordered tasted great and also better than KW Cafe. I would have rated them a 5 were it not for the women's restroom - so little number of stalls for such a large capacity restaurant. One stall did not have toilet paper. It could also be a little cleaner.

Came on a Saturday at 10:30am, no wait. Got seated immediately. There were lots of open tables still but there were a lot of people already there eating too. 1. Extra Charge for the dim sum sauce/mustard if you don't get their tea2. Tea is extra charge3. they don't give you an itemized bill of how much each tray costs. They just bill it with tax included. Woman workers push carts of dim sum to your table and they stamp the paper for each dish. You just pick what you want. All the food is very good. Some dishes needed mayonnaise sauce, and when we ordered 2 orders, we only got 1 sauce. We had to ask for another. They are supposed to give you 1 sauce for each dish you order that comes with it. If you want specific dish that they didn't push out with the carts, you can order it with men workers that are walking around picking up empty plates or men standing around just observing everything. Fast service. Loud restaurant. Everyone enjoying each others company. Love the loudness and the carts being pushed around asking if you want anything on their carts.

Over the years, New Capital Seafood has been one of the go-to spots for dim sum in the area. I remember weekend waits being notoriously long if you came during peak hours. However, after the New Year, we visited for a Sunday dim sum brunch at 10:50 AM and were seated within 15 minutes. While initially surprising, this shorter wait turned out to be a bad sign.Let's talk about the food: it's not what it used to be. They used to offer a greater variety of dim sum options from the carts, but this time, the selection was noticeably limited. We ordered a few items: * Custard pineapple buns/baked egg cream buns: Just okay--a little dry and not sweet enough. * Siu mai and beef rice roll: Standard and good, no complaints here. * Mala cake: This was one of the better items. * Eggplant with fried shrimp: Bland, with tough eggplant skin. * Fried wonton: Just okay. My kid only ate the crumbs. * Fried rice roll: crispy but not much flavor. What was frustrating was seeing the same items being brought out repeatedly by the cart staff. There weren't many fresh options coming out, and during the long wait for something new, we found ourselves already feeling full and uninterested. We stayed for about 1.5 hours but never saw staples like egg tarts. Perhaps they've become a special-order item, but no one gave us an ordering sheet or mentioned it.When the bill came, we didn't even get to see a breakdown of charges. Based on the total, we estimated each cart item to be around $5.70, which felt steep for the quality and experience.Service was lacking, though we didn't expect much. What disappointed us most was how much the food quality has declined. It didn't taste as good, there were fewer options, and it was more expensive. The shorter wait we initially appreciated was likely due to fewer customers, and sadly, we now understand why. On the positive side, the setup and ambiance were nice for a typical dim sum place. The large windows offered a pleasant view of the freeway and busy streets, which gave the place an open, bright feel. However, the restroom stalls were very narrow, which was inconvenient.New Capital has definitely lost its edge, and we'll be thinking twice before returning.

We hit up New Capital Seafood around 10am for their dimsum. The place wasn't too busy, which was nice! The shrimp lollipop? So good. Sticky rice? Perfect. And the egg tart? Buttery and flaky, juuust right. Honestly, the only reason it's a nine out of ten instead of a ten is that they charge extra for sauce.Still, 8 out of ten, would come again and bring a friend!

New Capital is definitely a lot of fun, being one of the few places that still does the dim sum cart experience. It gets really busy here on weekends, but they also serve the greatest variety of things on the weekend. As others have noted, many of the staff here only speaks Chinese/Cantonese, so keep that in mind. It's not too hard to navigate (point to what you want!), but if you have questions, this might prove difficult. Probably wouldn't recommend this place to someone for their first-time dim sum experience for that reason, but eh.I'm a little sad that they don't seem to offer the crispy taro anymore. It's hard to make, I think, so it's been dropped by a lot of dim sum places...but still, for a big restaurant like this, I'd love to see it return.

Dim sum spot with old-fashioned push carts that gets packed on the weekends. Fortunately, we were a smaller party, so tables turn pretty quickly. It was nice to see that the interior has been updated in recent years. It's good to know that this childhood staple is still around. We tried all the usual dishes - har gow, siu mai, chicken feet, bean curd roll, black bean pork ribs, braised tendon, bbq pork buns, and custard buns. One of the cart ladies claimed they were out of shrimp rice rolls for the day, but when we asked another waiter, they were able to bring us an order straight from the kitchen. So, definitely be sure to ask multiple people if there's a specific item you're looking for. I'd mistakenly ordered custard buns when what I really wanted was the salted egg yolk buns but it turns out they don't make those here.

New Capital is a misnomer. It's more of a time machine that transports you back 30 years to the 90's, to the good ol' days of the golden age of dim sum in Southern California. Not only the food, but the decor is appropriately dated. Even the ripe age of the clientele mostly matches the surrounding. You do get the loud and aggressive hawking of the dishes from each of the staff jostling their carts to your table. The food tasted very good and definitely authentic. One bite is enough to transport you back to childhood memories of dim sum. The variety of selection is also impressive. I can guarantee you that you're unable to try all the items without bursting your stomach.Grab a table next to the large windows. The view of the mountains is magnificent. So take a stroll down memory lane and relive the glory of the dim sum past. Parking is also crazy, just like the old times.
