Easily one of my favorite Jewish delis in LA and definitely my favorite in Beverly Hills. As you would guess they have a huge menu filled with tons of options which is one of my favorite things about delis. Inside is large with tons of different booths as well as a large bakery area where you can get all sorts of baked goods to go. They don't have a dedicated parking lot however there is an underground parking garage on the same block with first 2 hours free parking. Our server was polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. Just like most delis I would say pricing is more than it should be though. It's not as much as a trendy restaurant but still more than a solid LA diner. For my dinner I chose the Corned Beef Sandwich and it was one of the best I have ever had. It was so juicy and bursting with flavor. I tried to get the Onion Roll but they were sold out so I opted for the Kaiser Roll instead and it was a good choice. I honestly loved every bite and I already want to go back and try more dishes. I wish they would have more soup options but honestly the flavors here are great and I would recommend to any fan of delis or to anyone visiting Beverly Hills.

We ate here on Christmas. Thanks for being open on 12/25, a day that is very difficult to find businesses open out at which to eat!The food was amazing. Everything was great. I love the menu: stuffed cabbage, pastrami, kasha varnishkes. I wanted to order everything. The knishes were small but very good. My kids loved the matzoh ball soup. Our server was a bit overwhelmed (he said two people had called in "sick" for Christmas) but was very nice and generally attentive. The price is reasonable for Beverly Hills. There was a bit of a draft as we were seated by the front door and there is no exterior structure to keep out the cold. It does get cold in LA in the winter, especially at night! If cold outside, I suggest sitting in the back.

I love Nate'n Al's. I have been struggling to find a place like this in the Bay Area but moving forward I'll make and effort to go here whenever I'm in LA. As a solo diner I've always felt welcomed and love the old school vibe to the restaurant. The first time I came I had the pastrami sandwich on rye and really enjoyed it. It's comfort food for me. This time around, I came for brunch and decided to go all out. I ordered pastrami and eggs, which came with an onion bagel and hash browns. The pastrami was chopped into small pieces gave the eggs lots of flavor. The hash browns were flattened thin and crispy and the onion bagel was nice and chewy. I also ordered a cold slaw on the side. For dessert I ordered a warm chocolate babka. Yes that's a lot of food for one person. Granted, I didn't finish everything but everything was delicious! My server Shanice was awesome and she kept checking in on me. I ended up taking the bagel and half the babka to go so I can snack at the airport. One thing good about Nat'n Al's is that after a huge meal like that, you can walk around the shops to burn off all the calories.

I was really early for a doctor appointment and stopped in for a bite. David was my server and was ever so gracious. He set me up with water and a pickle plate. I chose the Grilled Cheese on seeded Rye. Something I would never make at home. Came with skinny fries. The sandwich was really good. The fries were a bit crunchy for me. Nevertheless, a decent lunch at a good price in Beverly Hills.

Simply not as good. Bagels big disappointment. Though I'm grateful Nate 'n Al's were rescued and revived by a creative and industrious group, there are some things that are tougher to swallow, or simply not great. The menu has been pared down to a fraction of what once was offered. Still, I was able to approximate a dish via 'Eggs Your Style' to recreate a favorite dish no longer on the menu. The Whitefish and Onions scramble was pretty good, if now (oddly) lacking in flavor. Cooked in unsalted butter, perhaps? The whitefish was bland. At about $25, I want to blown away, or at least deeply satisfied. Sides: In a review left in 2012, I said that ordering the tomatoes (instead of, say, the hash browns) didn't feel like a compromise. That the tomatoes were tasty and well worth going the 'healthier route'. Today, in 2024, I was given two thinly sliced tomatoes that tasted average at best. It looked like a garnish, not a side. When a manager-looking person happened to walk by, I shared that with her. She was empathetic and said she'd confer with the chef.I also shared with her that the water glasses are tiny. Rather than pester the servers for a refill, I guess just order a Large Glass of Water next time. Sure, sometimes you want a coffee or a Dr Brown's etc. But in the middle of summer on this morning, I only wanted water. The bagel. Oy, the bagel. Drops it down to three stars. Fewer bagel choices (maybe five), and just not great. Spongy? Ugh, yes. No crunch on the outside. No soft, doughy, pliable bagel inside. Our table had an 'Everything' and a 'Corn Rye'. The server confirmed they were fresh, so we opted not to have them toasted. Yet, both were dry, lifeless, and not especially flavorful or chewy. These would have to be toasted to make up for such inferior bagels. If I got a bagel here, I wouldn't again order the Corn Rye. (Where's the Pumpernickel?)The Corned Beef Scramble was fine. My companion wished for the onions, but we weren't asked, and didn't think to do so. And, especially now, you get charged for everything. Something for something and nothing for nothing. Onions in your scramble, yes a charge. Cream cheese (instead of whipped butter), yes, a charge. I get it. It's a tough business, restaurants. (Our server didn't even bring the cream cheese, we had to remind him)We came here six months ago, and did much better with corned beef sandwiches on rye with steak fries. That I would recommend. Finally, though the paperless bills are theoretically OK, why have the water announce to the entire table the bill? We didn't order separate checks... Plus, when Nate and Al's is charging you for each item, I think it's reasonable to present the bill to the customer so that the customer can at least see what they're paying for before tapping their card or phone on the server's device. There are elements here that suggest they are still re-charting their course. In this new climate of restaurants, it can't be easy. My hope is that this landmark can rely a little less on its name so as not to distract from the evolving state of Nate 'n Al's.

This is legend. GOAT deli-diner. The booths bring me back to having a cel ray seltzer in the '70's with my parents. Go early and expect to wait. Everything is spot on comfort.

I've been to many delis in LA, and been disappointed by most of them. The only ones I ever found impressive were Langers and Brent's. I went to Nate'n Al's on a Sunday with my wife and 1 year old, expecting an average meal with the typical dry corned beef/pastrami sandwich. The service was the first to be a pleasant surprise. They sat us at a tabletop instead of a booth to accommodate the highchair, and brought some coloring pencils and paper to keep our kid entertained. They also have a bunch of children's options on the menu, and we tried the chicken tenders. I ordered the Reuben. The food came relatively quickly, and in the meantime, they brought out a pickle plate with 3 types of pickles. They were really good, with one being sweet and spicy, the other mildly salty, and the last the typical sweet, sour, salty pickle. The Reuben was delicious, and gives Brent's a run for its money. The rye bread was toasted to perfection, and the mix of juicy pastrami, Russian dressing, and coleslaw was incredible. The dishes all had generous portions and we all left very satisfied.

I visited this restaurant on a recommendation. It seems like an institution. I expected my nearly $30 corned beef sandwich to be tasty. It was ridiculously fatty and disappointing.

Dated interior. Bad / cheap food, wildly overpriced for what it was. Underwhelming service. Has no business being in Beverly Hills, definitely not north of Wilshire. It's an institution that is waaaay past its prime, and surviving on name recognition and nostalgia. Was sick shortly after eating here. Will never be back.
