this is my favorite restaurant in all of LA! the food is so homey; it tastes like it was made with love. I love the tea leaf salad and lemongrass noodle soups. the lunch specials are a great deal too.service is wonderful, warm and kind. family owned establishment and very nice customer service. the ambiance feels like home here; it's clean, spacious and they have an epic drink fridge filled with drinks you won't typically find! they are one of the few restaurants I've seen that serve Vimto soda. to the person who left a bad review because of plastic cutlery, please have some humility and respect. installing commercial dishwashing equipment, possibly needing a city inspection, hiring a dishwasher, and purchasing all new silverware and serveware would cost this small business ~$60,000. please be kind to the staff here, this business is a staple to the community!!

I hate to give this place a bad review because it seems like a family business. But I have to say the food is pretty mediocre. Served on disposable plates with plastic forks. Seems like a take-away place. The restaurant itself lacks any sort of ambiance. It's super barren. I really did not even want to stay there to eat when I say how the place looked, but my bf was hungry! It's not that the place is dirty or anything. It just doesn't look like a nice place to dine at.

I love this halal Malaysian-Burmese spot! Whenever I feel for mee goreng noodles, I always come here. The sauce that they give with it is amazing as well.Parking is a little annoying, but there's free parking at the backside of the restaurant and they also have a little grocery store with some snacks and noodles. The service is amazing as well, local owned Muslim family. Will definitely come back with friends and family.

I thought about the food and vibe here. Probably 2 stars is my honest review. You can check my photo but eating meal off paper plates at a sit-down restaurant is pretty sad. Yes, it's easy and faster to clean for the restaurant workers but I can't justify my dining experience. The restaurant has no atmosphere and it is dark even in the day time. Beef Rendang had good flavor but the meat was small and dry. It came with a mountain of rice which I barely ate it. Maybe it's better to order take-out if you want to eat here.

Mutiara is a small, family restaurant on la brea in downtown Inglewood. They serve burmese food which is difficult to find in los angeles. There is ample parking with meters. The interior is sparse, not fancy but cleanYou are served on Styrofoam plates but I came for the food not the ambiance.I ordered their signature dish, tea leaf salad which was just okay. The portion was small to average size. Also i.had their chicken curry which was tastyMutiara is also a small market

Authentic Burmese-Indian food corner. Biryani is fragrant and seasoned with aromatic spices. Nan bread is soft and crisp with hearty yellow lentils dip. Jasmine Market in Culver City (another Burmese Deli Market) was closed and I happily stumbled upon this place. Apparently its the same founder, as its a challenge to find Burmese food in the Los Angeles area other than home cooking or through a Burmese temple. Must try!

Hubbers and I were having some random conversation when he mentioned tea leaf salad out of the blue. Almost immediately, I had a craving for it. The problem is the number of Burmese eateries in the greater Los Angeles area is scarce, so it was a delight to find this place. Not too close from home, but close enough to drive.I reviewed their menu carefully and the two things I wanted seem to be only available on Saturdays and Sundays, so I waited for the weekend to come around before coming through. I walked in one Saturday afternoon and the only access to the menu is the one taped to the window. This is a good thing considering there's a pandemic raging throughout the country right now. The less touching one does, the better. FRIED CHICKEN: it is what it says except the spices they use to season the bird is pleasant. I tasted the middle eastern-Asian influence, it is nothing like the likes of a regular fried chicken I've had. These are entirely different, elevated to a different category. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, TONS of flavor. Me likey! MURTABAK: A few Yelpers recommended this, so I went for it. I honestly had NO idea what it is, but curiosity was gnawing at me a bit. I think I might like it with a bit of a crisp, but it really was delicious. The stuffing was fragrant and savory, and it stood on its own without the cabbage topping. Me likey this too! YELLOW CURRY (Chicken): Nothing out of the ordinary. I've had something similar and better somewhere else. The broth was a little watery and the sliced chicken pieces were all dry. This is going to be a hard pass for next time.RICE NOODLE FISH SOUP: Also known as Mohinga, considered by many to be the national dish of Myanmar. This didn't disappoint. Since the order was takeout, the noodles and other ingredients were separated from the fish soup. I put everything together as soon as I got home and YUUUUUMMMMM. There was this explosion of texture and flavor and came so hearty more especially during this cold weather SoCal is currently experiencing. Highly recommending this dish! (NOTE: This is one of two reasons I waited to come through on a weekend because it's not available during the week!)TEA LEAF SALAD: The other reason I wanted to come through on the weekend. The host reminded me to mix everything together thoroughly prior to eating. Did just that soon as I got home. Like the rice noodle fish soup, this had its own bursts of flavor and texture on a much different level. It had the main essence of the tea leaf salad I was craving. I loved it, it completely hit the craving spot! Highly recommending as well! (NOTE: I was told this may be available during the week - call to inquire.) FOOD: 4.5. SERVICE: 5. Everything was made to order, so prepare for a wait if you walk in. Best to call in your order and pick it up 20-30 minutes later. (I waited almost half hour for my food, but I didn't mind since I knew my food wasn't coming off a warmer. And I had some time.)VALUE: 4.5. More than fair. PARKING: Street and I learned there's parking in the back when I saw people coming through from there. OVERALL: 4.75. They have an aisle of grocery items. I wasn't familiar with most of them, but Lays potato chips seaweed flavor, WHAT?! Yeah, got a few items off those shelves, too...It was thoroughly a great first visit. I'm looking forward to coming back! I'm confident they'd score the 5th star then...

As a Malaysian, I'm so excited when I found out this restaurant! They have really decent Malaysian food and some grocery that you could rarely find in LA ;) The price is cheap and the people is nice. Highly recommend.

I am a foodie who does not write reviews very often. I found this place because of my Pa. I like the cooking style because it reminded me of my childhood days. Authentic Yangon Burmese food that represents past is hard to find even in L.A.My Pa likes Keema Pratha. My brother likes chicken Biryani. Mine is like Beef Korma(?). This beef is 3rd best for me. I will definitely be visiting more often.
