I made reservations for here on Valentine's Day. I am happy to say that it was a great decision. Everything felt great and romantic from the food, to the ambience, and even the music playing. This restaurant hit all the checkmarks. We ordered off the Prix fixe menu as that was the special menu for the occasion. For Appetizers we got the skirt steak and crispy rice; both were delicious. For the Entrée we both ordered the Filet Mignon which was cooked perfectly and had so much flavor. The combination of the meat, onions, and mushrooms with the sauce glazed over was delicious. For desert we got the cheesecake and hazelnut cake; both were good.I think I would definitely come by another day to try other items off their menu. But when it comes to Valentine's day, this should be on your radar for a possible date.

Portions were perfect .Decor was great.Food was alright.Service was bad.20% required gratuity was terrible.I knew that the 20% gratuity was a thing before dining so I did not expect the service to be so bad. It took 30 minutes before we could finally flag down a waiter to put in our order. It wasn't until the 40 minute mark that we actually met our server. I understand it's Valentine's Day and there is a big delay in the kitchen but we hardly saw our server at all. The bussers and other servers were lovely and checked in on us every time we needed something but our assigned server was nowhere to be found. The lack of service just ruined our night and we were not happy that we had to pay a 20% tip. I hope the tip went toward the others who actually serviced us! Definitely not coming here again.Sorry Mrs. Fish

Amazing customer service from when we reserved the restaurant online and when we walked through the majestic stairs down. It is a very personal atmosphere and really good for imminent settings/gatherings. We went for a birthday and it went smoothly. My favorite stand out dishes from each category were: Salmon Carpaccio, Jidori Chicken Karage, Kaisen, and the cheesecake. The fish tasted fresh and paired well with the toppings and sauces that they provide us. We barely used our soy sauce at all. The seaweed salad tasted unique compare to what I was accustomed to be eating (the seaweed salad from your standard poke place). It was refreshing but lacks depth in flavor. Overall the dinner was very pleasant and I can't wait to come back to try more.

Reservations were at 9:30 but we got there early and they were able to seat us at the lounge area next to the bar. I have to say that upon walking downstairs it definitely smelled a little too strongly of fish. (A little bit of a turn off). Other than that, the ambiance was kitschy and fun; bright colors and fish tanks throughout. The atmosphere is energetic without being too loud or overwhelming. There was a main bar downstairs but I caught a glimpse of the small bar upstairs that looked cute. We ordered the following:Seared tuna crispy rice Yellowtail serrano Pork gyoza Skirt steak skewer Uni (Nothing blew my mind but everything was good, the meat could have been more tender. Uni was fresh!)Cocktails (overall good, but a little sweet for my taste)Hattori HanzoKiyomiKiriMidoriI appreciate the variety of food options, from snacks to entrees, with a lot of non-seafood options available for those who don't like it. Based on our order, I would say everything is gonna be pretty good at the very least. We saw a lot of people on dates, big parties and families. I think it can be a great option for a casual date night or large groups. A pretty versatile place in general. I think I'd likely come back again to try more of the menu. Rideshare is recommended due to sparse parking!

TLDR: Cool underground vibe with a DJ on weekends @ 8PM, parking is horrible, service is just okay, famous fish tank is underwhelming, but some dishes like the skirt steak skewer and Oyabun roll are solid - not worth a special tripI came with high hopes because of the "largest fish tank in LA's restaurant," but it fell short--barely any fish were inside. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. After asking for a more private spot, the waiter kindly moved us to another section, but from there, the service was mediocre at best. The ambiance is very LA nightlife: located underground with a DJ who starts around 8 PM on weekends. It's trendy but nothing groundbreaking. Parking in DTLA is always tricky, and Mrs. Fish doesn't make it easier with no dedicated lot. Valet parking is available at the front for $14. As for the food, we ordered several dishes to share. The standouts were: -Skirt Steak Skewer: three skewers, cooked tender and medium-rare, with a sauce that elevated the flavors-Oyabun (Wagyu Specialty Roll): real lobster (no imitation here!) and generously portioned. -Chika Mocktail: ginger-forward, almost like kombucha--great if you love ginger, though it might be too strong for some. Unfortunately, the larger entrees and overall experience weren't impressive. While a few dishes shined, the location, parking hassle, and underwhelming fish tank make it hard to justify the trip.

Heard about this place from a coworker. Did not disappoint! You have to get a reservation. Parking is a challenge so plan out ahead of time. We happened to be in Little Tokyo all day so we walked 20 min to come to the restaurant. Expect to spend $50 plus per person. There's someone at the entrance to check you in then a long stairway down into the fancy upscale modern space. The restaurant is most known for its long suspended fish tank above people's heads. Then there are bright pieces of art that have a contemporary feel on the walls and mobile like chandeliers that look like stacked eggshells (would've been even cooler with some tentacles to look like jellyfish). We were seated immediately and s as ok staff were extremely attentive, professional, and helpful. We ordered avocado salmon rolls and tai carpaccio as well as a Roku yuzu Collin's cocktail off of the happy hour menu. We then ordered the Otto drink (smoky whisky based), shishito peppers appetizer, veggie curry udon, short ribs (on a bed of mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables), miso soup and veggie tempura, and miso black cod (on a bed of greens) from the main menu. Food is brought out as dishes are ready. All in all a memorable dining experience! I even went upstairs to check out the second floor which has a second bar. It looks like you could host a semi private party up there. Bathrooms are clean and dark (black tile, black walls, red door). We'll be back!

A trendy and bustling spot! While waiting for our table at Mrs. Fish, we enjoyed a drink at their sister restaurant, Perch--a great option I'd recommend. Parking can be tricky, but we lucked out with a metered spot right across the street. I'll let the photos speak for themselves--we ordered the chef's tasting menu along with a few extra dishes. I couldn't resist capturing plenty of content! I wish they have elevators at the building so my mom could have joined us. It's few steps down to be able to enjoy the place.

This place is so pretty! Right when you walk down the stairs you can see the mini floating fish tank above the tables. There are three floors of seating in the restaurant. Everything is arranged to be roomy but packed with tables. The service was great! Many of the staff regularly checked in to fill in for water, to clear some dishes, or if we wanted to order another dish.I would say some dishes could be a hit or miss, so make sure to check the reviews and ask your waiter for recommendations. Parking: 504 S Hill Street, 2-3 min walk. $10 for Sat-Sun 8 hr parkingParking valet was kinda tricky cause most of the cars were already parked in front of the restaurant. Miso black cod: highly recommend getting. Fish and the veggies were so soft and full of flavor. Throughout most of the reviews, this dish is a fan favorite. The Oyabun roll topped with wagyu and lobster roll inside. Was good but not that great. If you're going for flavor, get the miso black cod. Yuzu blossom drink (alcoholic): you can't taste the sake at all. Very nice, sweet and fruity alcoholic drinkers. The presentation was pretty because the ice cubes were freezed with flowers. Chika (non-alcoholic): If you want an impactful drink get this. It's has strong hints of ginger, lemon, and honey all combined in one glass. Personally, my favorite but not an all-around favorite for everyone. White chocolate bread pudding: Great dessert dish! I read that it was one of the best dessert dishes to choose on the menu. The first bite was heavenly, warmth of the bread mixed with the coolness from the vanilla ice cream.

We came for the happy hour and had a great time! Making a reservation online was super easy and they had plenty availability for a Friday night dinner. The happy hour was great! We ordered several sushi items from the happy hour, a few drinks as well as the potato salad. The sushi was fairly priced for the quality and quantity. The atmosphere of the place was super fun, they played lively music throughout our time there and the servers were incredibly nice and attentive. I will definitely be coming back! Parking: Valet $14, or paid street parking

Top of the top!I had my birthday dinner last night at Mrs Fish and I'm amazed! The food melted in my mouth - spicy tuna on crispy rice - delicious, and my favorite was Golden Yuzu - the Signature Roll. We experienced live music too! The whole evening was fabulous and unforgettable thanks to wonderful host and manager- Lisa. Thank You, we will be back soon.
