This place is MAGICAL! The interior makes you feel like you're in a different place and the ambiance is so peaceful. The food is delicious by it's definitely a specialty type of food and can be a hit or miss with people. Food: must orders include the mapo tofu, stir fried eggplant, spicy ma la fish fillet, and the salted egg corn. Everything was delicious but please know, the type of food here is oily and spicy! That's what Szechuan is all about so if that's not you, then take a hard look at the menu before you surprise yourself. Overall, I loved the service it was perfect and the endless tea is such an experience! This is definitely a special event kind of dinner.

Overall I thought the food was pretty good but a lot of the dishes started tasting the same. I think the hanging pork belly is kind of overrated and are just cold cuts of meat. I would reorder:- green beans - wontons in chili oil - stir fry noodles The ambiance is great - super nice interior! Service was also great. You order on your phone but the servers were very attentive.

Only eat here if you handle spice!!Second time here and it did not disappoint, the vibes were awesome and the wait isn't as long as it use to. They toned down their spice levels which is appreciated because given that 98% of their menu is spicy, they toned it down so that everything is moderately mild compared to how it use to be.Would recommend for someone trying an authentic Chinese cuisine and doesn't mind having a bit of spice!

Felt like I needed to write an update of this fantastic Sichuan / Asian fusion restaurant. We have become regulars at this place. I also order uber eats deliveries from here at least once a week. This is one of the most beautiful restaurants in the area. I love it that they always play soothing music and I don't Iike loud music at restaurants. They serve the best fish dishes and I have tried almost all the fish items here. My favorites are stone pot whole fish, green pepper whole fish and spicy boiled fish fillets. The Dungeness crab with sticky rice is a great choice if you are a seafood lover like me. Other dishes like chicken and fried rice are so comforting and yummy as well. I appreciate that they have many non spicy dishes cause I can't eat too spicy most of the time. And they have amazing desserts and beverages too. They also have options not to add meats in hot & sour soup and mapo tofu, which is great for me as a non meat eater. The service is always outstanding except it gets slow sometimes. This is absolutely my favorite Asian fusion restaurant in this area!

Mountain House can get pretty crowded, so a reservation is greatly encouraged, particularly if you have a larger party. Not only is the restaurant itself busy, but the parking lot can get hectic, especially on weekends. It's probably better to carpool. The interior of the restaurant is jaw-dropping. It's what you would imagine a Chinese-style stone courtyard to look like, complete with a pagoda and koi fish pond. We decided to take our family (coming in from out of town) here, as the interior architecture and design befits the celebration of a family gathering. The food was so good -- spicy and numbing in the signature Szechuan style. We ordered hot and sour soup, pork belly and cucumber swing with chili garlic sauce, mapo tofu, lazi chicken, short rib baos, green beans, and spicy wontons. It was quite the spread, but being able to share it family style enabled us to try everything.May, our server, was so kind and went above and beyond during our entire meal. She was constantly checking to see if we needed our plates changed (the hefty amount of chili oil that's used in Szechuan cooking is no joke), or our water or tea refilled. She was so funny and sweet that we couldn't help but crack jokes with her whenever she came by. She even comped the dessert that was brought out for one of our party member's birthday. We would definitely recommend Szechuan food lovers to try Mountain House, particularly for the delicious food and outstanding service.

Great spot for some spicy goodness! They have two spice level options, a huge menu, and beautiful ambiance. Perfect for a sichuan food craving! Food: Spicyyyyy but so good! We got the less spice option and my tongue was still burning, but everything was very flavorful! Good mix of traditional dishes and some more trendy options. My favorites were the mapao tofu (super silky), the eel with chili (the crunch is so satisfying and amazing flavor), and the fish stew with pickled cabbage (extremely tender). Service: Super helpful! Seems like most if not all can speak Mandarin, so great spot to take your parents if that's what they are more familiar with. Our waiter showcased some popular dishes, and was super attentive, taking away napkins and extra trash whenever he stopped by to check on us. Vibe: Great spot for gatherings or dates, several tables for larger parties. The decor is amazing, feels like a time capsule into a little Chinese garden. Music was a little loud when we went, but we were also near a speaker.

The interior in here is absolutely stunning. Everything inside was so beautiful. The food was pretty good, especially since the price wasn't anything super high, but I have had better from the smaller spots around the area. We got the lazi chicken, swinging pork and the mapotofu. The mapotofu was the highlight. Well seasoned and flavorful. The lazi chicken was delicious as well but a little dry because of how small the chicken was cut. The swinging pork was unfortunately a miss. It was hard, chewy, and pretty underwhelming. I suggest only ordering it for the presentation. Ambience: 10/10

Food was delicious and spicy! Portions were friendly for a table of 5. We really liked the ambiance and our service from May was top notch. She was very attentive and made sure that we enjoyed our food and that my sister had a great birthday dinner! Will be back again if we are around the area!

This is such a nice restaurant that it almost feels too nice to dine here if not for some special occasion. Luckily, we came here for my mom's birthday and we couldn't have picked a more perfect spot. The food here is delicious and authentic. Honestly, I am not a huge fan of málà (numbing spice), but I really enjoyed everything we ordered here. A few highlights were the twice cooked pork, mapo tofu, and grilled beef short rib. They also have quite a few non-spicy dishes on the menu which was a nice surprise. As other Yelpers have mentioned, the servers are so attentive and only contributed to the experience of dining in a royal imperial garden-like setting. The interior design itself is stunning and the ambience is immaculate. Dining to the sound of koi ponds and soft instrumentals was a soothing experience. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance via Yelp or calling in directly, as the wait can be long otherwise.
