I've been thinking about this place since I visited in November. I treated myself to a solo birthday dinner and it was amazing. First off, the ambiance/decor is gorgeous. Everything felt chic and sexy. My cocktail was delicious but the true highlights were the toasted walnut muhammara and the striped bass. When I tell you I've been dreaming about these two dishes. They are perfect, flavorful and served with so much attention to detail. You can taste every little bit of seasoning/spice. I'm counting down the days till I visit again. You won't be disappointed.

Food, desserts, customer service (from the front desk) is always outstanding and plates are so creative. Without mentioning their location, which is the cutest, really a lovely place I enjoy so much to go. Btw- Erick the bartender is amazing! The only thing is--and this is a constructive observation--their Matcha and Café latte could be so much improved (in products quality itself, glassware, but also foaming wise).

Boozy (Drinks) - 4/5While they don't have bottomless mimosas, they have "Rosé all day" which was new for us, but we weren't mad at it. They offer a sparkling or still option of their Rosé and the still was the way for us. Wish they offered a few more options and were a little more consistent with refills, but overall was a good boozy experience.Brown (Culture) - 3.5/5Probably the most diverse spot we've been to, which we love. Unlike the current in office, we're fans of DEI. You'll find people from all over LA here, with all the cool fashion trends, lingo, and overall ambiance from bougie with clear money to bougie with not so much (aka us). Music was mid and chill but you definitely get an upscale vibe at this rooftop restaurant. Clear view of the Hollywood sign too, if you're into that. Our server, Alex, was pretty attentive and on it throughout the experience so no real complaints here.Brunch (Food) - 4.8/5We ordered the shared pastries, avocado toast, black kale salad, shitake mushroom larb, crispy pork belly eggs Benedict, breakfast burrito, and salmon bowl. All items were delicious! The artichoke pastry was amazing but the avocado toast, fig jam, olive oil muffin, and crispy pork belly were the clear winners of this brunch. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the items here. Only reason it's not a 5 was because of the croissant which was pretty bland and the uneventful dessert menu. Overall 4/5Love the diversity of the place and the food was delicious. Overall was a good experience and felt upscale but the vibe could be elevated through a live DJ or live music. Would absolutely come back on a date and/or for even more intimate experiences. Sorry we forgot to take pictures of the food but it was so good, we forgot!

Probably had one of the worst dining experiences here ever. We came based on reviews and it being a "known" trendy spot.. I guess. A group of 5 friends with a 7pm reservation. Hostess sent us to the bar to get drinks while our table was being prepared. Ordered at 7pm Drinks were ready at 7:10 and bartender said he's send them to our table since it was ready. Drinks never came. Had to flag down sever and reorder after 20 minutes because they forgot. Manager came to offer 1 shot per person as an apology around 7:45 but still no drinks. Drinks finally arrived at 7:58pm. Nearly ONE HOUR after we ordered. On top of it, they were watered down and disgusting. We all ordered different drinks and nobody liked them. So basically for 1 hour we sat at a table waiting for 1 drink (5 of us) at an empty bar with like 8 open tables and nobody at the bar. So it wasn't busy. Server came to our table maybe 2x in 1.5 hours and only because we flagged them down. Food came out at 8:15pm. Over an hour after our reservation. I ordered the Salmon and it was flavorless. Cous cous was super dry. We asked for the check and immediately put a card down because we wanted to get out of there. The signature slips came at 8:55pm, around 20 minutes after we handed the card to pay. Ridiculous. Long story short, the food was meh, drinks were terrible, and the service was extremely slow. They didn't seem to care at all.

Ambiance, service, food all excellent! Came for a birthday brunch with girlfriends. We all got something different on the menu and everyone loved their dishes. They even brought me a sweet birthday dessert. Would love to return to dinner. Recommend!

WWOOOOWWW! This restaurant blew my mind in every way. From the elegant, yet cozy décor, to the excellent wait staff and delicious plates, I can't recommend visiting this restaurant enough! Our group of 5 decided to order multiple plates to share. The crowd favorites were the Lumpiang Sariwa, Hawaiian Kanpanchi Crudo, and Mushroom Risoni. The Korean Beef Short Ribs tasted delicious, but we're quite dry and needed the pickled cucumbers for moisture. The staff members were extremely attentive, removing plates as soon as they were empty and refilling our waters every few minutes as needed. They even gave me a bowl of ice cream with sprinkles and a candle for my birthday.

My husband and I came to Mother Tongue for a pre-concert dinner - our second date night since having our baby, who's already 15 months old! This spot made it feel like such a treat. The lumpiang sariwa was refreshing and perfectly balanced with a beautiful crunch and delicious sauce. The mushroom risoni was another favorite - light despite the cream sauce, and the burrata incorporated into the dish was such a unique touch. The roasted Spanish octopus was tender served with spirulina mole verde that had a surprising kick of heat, which I loved. The only miss for me was the roasted Mary's farm duck "arroz de pato." The duck was beautifully cooked, but the dish leaned salty, and the rice had a bit too much going on for my taste. Maybe I should've known from the menu description, but it didn't quite land for me.Desserts, though? Amazing. The yuzu panna cotta and tapioca pudding were some of the best I've had in a while - not too sweet, just perfectly balanced.Mother Tongue made our rare night out feel special. Even if not every dish was perfect for me, the creativity, bold flavors, and execution make this place a spot I'd happily return to for another night of discovery.

I was invited to Mother Tongue to celebrate a friend's birthday and we went during brunch time. Our friends were friends with the manager and bartenders so that's always a plus. The space itself is really nice and spacious. The food however was underwhelming all around. I ordered the avocado toast with a chai or matcha I can't remember and it was disappointing. My boyfriend ordered their breakfast burger and was also not impressed (he's a big burger guy so he has high standards for a good burger). Our friends ordered steak and eggs and I think they had to send it back because the steak didn't come out well done. Aside from that we were never rushed and our server was attentive. We ordered a variety of desserts at the end as well but none of them really stood out for me. Unfortunately I will not be going back as there were a lot of misses with the food.

Came here with my boyfriend for an early Valentine's Day brunch and I'd have to say I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised the ambience overall is quite casual. Very pretty decor and very pretty photo ops. They offer inside and outside seating ,keep in mind this restaurant is located within hotel on the fourth floor. We chose outside seating. It was such a beautiful Sunday and our waiter was outstanding. He was so attentive recommended a lot of options. They offer a brunch special where you get to choose from two plates, a starter and a main course for about $40 per person I myself chose the overnight oats and my boyfriend chose to kale salad with the steak and eggs. The drinks were pretty good a little too strong for my taste since I prefer something on the sweeter side, but again our waiter was so kind. He noticed that I didn't really care for the drink. He initially recommended offered to comp that and let me try something else which I expressed it was completely fine, but he insisted The food tasted amazing. The overnight oats was so fresh and just something very filling my boyfriend. Let me try some of his steak and it was probably one of the best brunch steaks I've ever had. Their chimichurri sauce is so delicious. Definitely would come back here maybe for like a celebration brunch for one of my girlfriends. Thank you to everyone at the establishment.

Went for Valentine's Day. The food quality was great. Salmon was the most tender and creamiest I've ever had, their sea bass was also great paired with the coconut curry. Their take on lumpia was very unique and fresh. Drinks were a bit too sweet and tasted cheap. Service was great, but our server didn't know a lot about the menu which would be the only critique
