Moonlark's Dinette is the kind of place I wish was walking distance from me, but unfortunately, it's in DTLA, which means parking is a hassle. That said, it's absolutely worth the effort.Ambiance: A super cute diner vibe with a cozy, separate area in the back that feels more like a living room.Service: Friendly and quick, exactly what you want in a spot like this.Food: Everything I've tried has been great. The veggie omelette is one of the rare times in America that an omelette isn't overcooked--it's actually buttery. The tuna sandwich? Amazing. The Cobb salad is massive, and the burger is a standout with its two patties--one regular and one that I think is chorizo--giving it extra flavor. The hashbrown inside adds a satisfying crunch.Despite the DTLA parking struggle, I'd say this place is worth a visit.

This is a really cute upscale diner located in the Huxton hotel (valet parking is available, self parking on the street is a gamble). With all of the holiday decorations up, it certainly was a great vibe!Service was good, appreciated our waitress being friendly and accommodating for the child in our party as well. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and my wife got the eggs and sausage. The eggs on my Benedict were overcooked beyond belief, which was really disappointing as everything else was tasty, especially their hollandaise sauce. My wife's sausage was also overcooked and basically was a hockey puck. The star of the meal was the chocolate cake, which wasn't overly sweet but still rich and tasty. I'd definitely come back just for that. Overall, I'd come back because it was a really cute spot and there was a lot of promising elements to the meal, but there was definitely some things that can be improved upon.

This cute little dinette was the perfect brunch spot after a crazy weekend. It had chill vibes and really attentive service. The food was good, and the menu was short and sweet. The beauty of a short menu is that it helps those with decision fatigue (me!). We'll definitely be back.

Today I visited this place with my husband. I was very pleased with the very pleasant vibe of the place, the waitress was attentive, the interior was very nice. The food was very tasty, the fresh shrimps with sauce were great. Then there was a salad, also very tasty and the portion was very large, I asked for a box, since I could not eat it all. Affordable prices, I definitely liked this place, I will come again. I recommend visiting

Simple and nailed the feel of an upscale dining experience. This is located ground level of the DTLA Hoxton Hotel. There is street parking and the option of paying $18 for valet. This would cover your first 3 hours. The restaurant does accept rsvps. The host and overall staff was super nice, provided great recommendations for first timers, and food came out at a reasonable time. I tried the monte cristo with a crispy cauliflower appetizer, and it's hands down one of the best I've had. My friends ordered omelets and they were cooked perfectly! Aesthetics of this place was on point. There was a retro modern feel, and I loved the maroon leather booths.

Cute ambiance. Food is actually kind of bad! The service was great but the cooks not so much. They had trouble with grilled cheese. The biscuit is super dry! Chilaquiles is good and the breakfast sandwiches are decent. I wouldn't come back here honestly. Cool place to check out if you're in the area!

This is the latest restaurant to occupy the ground floor dining space in DTLA's Hoxton Hotel. I've dined in this room previously when it was Michelin-starred chef Daniel Rose's Café Basque, which alas lasted less than a year. Its esoteric food was perhaps not a good fit for a hotel restaurant that ideally should be open all day for all meals. Moonlark's Dinette is an upscale diner from chef Chris Pandel that serves an all-day (7:30 am-10 pm) Midwestern comfort food menu that should better serve the hotel's clientele, plus locals. I was quite impressed with my dinner here.I ordered both breakfast and lunch fare, for dinner. The breakfast dish was latke + smoked salmon, 3 crispy crunchy hashbrown potato bars topped with a poached egg, cucumber relish, crème fraiche with dill and pickled red onions. So delicious, and the potatoes maintained their crispness well under all the moist toppings. My lunch dish was one of my favourite sandwiches, the Monte Cristo. The bread in their version is more like griddled French toast rather than deep fried. The filling was ham, swiss cheese and Dijon, and the requisite side of raspberry jam (seedless) was served alongside, and they'll bring more if needed. It's served with either housemade potato chips or a salad (fries are an upcharge). Also delicious, and the chips were very thin, light and crisp. The dinette has a full bar and cocktail menu from the hotel's bar, including a few spirit-free offerings. I tried their nostalgic Shirley Temple, which was fine, except it was garnished with an orange wedge and not the maraschino cherry I was expecting (both traditional and mentioned on the menu).Overall a great meal. They have many other dishes I'd like to try. Yet another good DTLA dining choice.

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Charming atmosphere and good food, but slightly uneven service. We were staying at the hotel and decided to try it for breakfast. It had an adorable retro 1930s vibe going on, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered a coffee and their smoked salmon and latke (same as hash browns), and was pleasantly surprised by an unexpected poached egg. The hubby ordered two scrambled eggs and "cool ranch" hash browns (basically cool ranch dust). Everything was delicious, but after the server dropped off our food she was nowhere to be seen for a while, and it took some time to settle our bill. Luckily we weren't in a hurry, and I believe they had just opened, so I'm sure the service will improve as they get their bearings. I'd definitely like to try them again when next in the area.
