It has been a few months since my last review so I thought to write one today. We enjoy coming here for simply tasty Chinese food. The lunch menu prices are a good deal. I really enjoy their Singapore Noodles, so I often order this dish and have leftovers at home. The place is tiny. Parking is on the lot, but also narrow, enter through Bentley. This is a one way parking lot. Service is is prompt, but without a smile. Haha! It is fine. Moon House is for a quick bite to eat and to fill your Chinese food cravings.

This review is based on my take-out experience. Overall, the food was average based on what we ordered. I think, I had higher expectations due to the glowing reviews, but it didn't quite meet them.We started with Paradise Desire, a mix of dim sum options. I love dim sum, but these weren't my favorite. Not bad, just not something I'd go back for. Slightly too sticky and fillings wasn't flavorful. The highlight for me was the egg rolls, perfectly crunchy yet juicy inside. Definitely worth trying. For mains, we had orange chicken and chicken fried rice. The orange chicken was just okay. It really depends on how you like yours, I found it lacking breading and flavor, and the sauce had a different taste than I am used to. The chicken fried rice was also just okay, slightly dull and missing that extra punch of flavor. I also wasn't a fan of their chili oil. I feel like this is a place where you should be your own judge.

We came on Lunar New Year and it was extremely busy which completely made sense as we were there on LNY! The restaurant was also quite small so that added to our wait time. We put our names down and got seated in about an hour. Veggie Chow Mein - Amazing! The best chow mein I've ever had in LA. The flavor was impeccable and the texture of the noodles were just right. My only comment would be to up the ratio of veggies in the chow mein but aside from that, it was perfect. Mapo Tofu - Great texture, good taste but not spicy. This dish is traditionally made spicy so I was expecting a dish with a kick. It still tasted quite good though and it was a huge portion! String Beans - So flavorful! They were sautéed with garlic and had a nice almost crispy texture. They were slightly spicy as well. Delicious! Veggie Fried Rice - Could have used a bit more salt or soy sauce. Really enjoyed the texture and rice to veggies ratio but it needed a little bit more of seasoning to be perfect.Although we waited quite a bit, once we sat down it felt like a normal service with the server coming to us shortly and taking our order. Food came out timely as well. Loved that they give you free tea when dining in. All of the portions were large. Tons of vegetarian options too. Small parking lot out front. Lots of street parking on the side streets. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here. Definitely coming back to try more of their menu!!

Another solid deal for westside takeout if you choose their bogo deal! We ordered the bogo chow mein on ubereats and each container was absolutely stuffed with noodles and meat - one container definitely lasts me two meals. This is pretty standard chow mein, nothing mindblowing but well-executed. I appreciated that there was a mix of chicken, beef, and shrimp. They didn't skimp on anything! I would definitely try their other takeout options in the future as well :)

Moon House is always our go to for some delicious Chinese food in the West LA area. We dined in on 1/11/25. We were greeted warmly and got seated right away. We ordered our usual favorites: shrimp lo mein, salt and pepper calamari, salt and pepper pork chop, filet minon beef, won ton noodle soup. Everything tasted fresh and delicious as always. Service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They were quick to get anything we needed. The staff are always polite and personable. If you're looking for a good Chinese restaurant with authentic food and good service, Moon House is definitely worth the try. They have parking available, clean restrooms and relaxing atmosphere. Our family will always come back as we love the delicious and tasty food they serve.

Dinner Friday evening, 9/13/2024I thought this was a California-type Chinese restaurant. I confused this with Dan Modern Chinese. Anyway, Moon House is a regular Chinese restaurant. Service was basic. The interior was basic. No beer, no alcohol. The food was pretty good. We ordered 3 types of dumplings. My confident self waltzes right in thinking I'm going to order three dishes because I was hungry. Boy was I wrong. Got the chow fun beef, and it was a generous portion of beef slices on a mountain of flat rice noodles with sprouts. Very delicious. The egg rolls were really good - fresh and crispy! Quiet restaurant, fast service. I'd come back for more.
