Mogu Mogu

I just realized that I've had a lot of great foodie experiences in 2025... lucky me!I first tried Mogu mogu down in OC and finally got around to checking out the location in Sawtelle. They're slightly off the beaten track from the main area of Sawtelle off Olympic and Colby. Parking is pretty easy and they do have a few spots in the lot next door and plenty of street parking.The last time I went, we split a deluxe mazemen but I wasn't about to share this time...lol! And....It was just as good as I remember. It's one of those flavors that is so good you actually salivate thinking about it. No kidding.The restaurant is small but service is friendly and quick. If you've never tried mazemen, go right now!!!! Note: this is not ramen so get that thought out of your head! And you're welcome in advance.

This place never disappoints! It consistently hits the spot, and the Tokyo Mazemen is a personal favorite. The flavor is fantastic, and the noodles have the perfect texture. Adding rice and vinegar towards the end is the ideal way to round out the dish. Perfect if you're a carb lover like me as you get rice and noodles! If you're looking for more meat, the deluxe option is a great choice. The parking lot is small, but there's plenty of neighborhood parking available. The restaurant has a casual vibe, and while it can get crowded, the service remains quick and efficient. Definitely worth the visit!

Mogu Mogu is our go-to takeout order when we aren't sure what to get. She likes the Tokyo Mazemen (substituting the poaches egg for soft boiled) and I get the Deluxe. You can't go wrong here with anything on the menu. Service is usually timely. We've had a few delays when ordering takeout but this is usually around peak dinner hours. The ambiance is great with tight spacing but enough to feel comfortable. There's always a line out front. Traffic around this area can be intense but street parking is usually plentiful.

Soooo good! I got the deluxe mazeman which was absolutely delicious. Meat was very tender and juicy, eggs were perfectly soft boiled / poached. I love adding a TON of vinegar but that's just my preference. I also love the little bowl of rice they give at the end to soak up the rest of the contents. Came Sunday night around 7pm and waited only 5 min or so to be seated for party of 2.

Maybe I hyped this place up for myself too much because it didn't blow my socks off as I'd hoped! I got the deluxe mazemen, which came with an great variety of toppings (pork chashu, spicy minced pork, poached egg, seaweed, a soft boiled egg, seaweed flakes, and garnishes), and also a small bowl of rice that you can eat with the sauce at the end. It was tasty mazemen, but the amount of food wowed me more than the actual dish, and overall the flavors didn't taste balanced. The sauce, though plentiful, felt too heavy along with all the rich toppings, though adding vinegar helped cut through the richness. Noodle texture was very good.We got here around 5:15pm on a weekday evening and didn't have to wait in line, though there was a line of around 10 people by the time we left. Our food came out fast though, so it seems like turnover would be pretty quick. The ambience isn't anything fancy and the store is small, but it was well-maintained and noise level wasn't too loud even though the tables are all pretty close to each other. Service is quick and polite. Overall solid, but I wouldn't say it's my favorite spot to go to in Sawtelle!

stopped by after a day of exploring LA. This used to be the go to spot when I was back in college. A little bit away from the main strip of sawtelle mogu mogu does amazing mazemen. I usually go for the Kyoto non spicy mazemen but I opted for the Tokyo this time. It was really flavorful and always remember to add the ground sesame. At the end of the meal they give you leftover rice to soak up the leftovers and it's really good!

Came here with a group of 4 and had to wait for about 20 min to get seated but it was worth it! Good: - The deluxe mazemen is such a good deal - you get so many toppings and so much food for less than $20. There are loads of noodles you get with each dish, and I liked the way they made their runny egg. - I liked adding the vinegar to the dish and it made it a mix of sweet and savory - such a fun twist- They sneakily added rice to the end of the meal, which was nice for cleaning up the soup - Super nice staff and clean wooden aesthetic Bad: - Takes a while to get into the place, super popularOverall enjoyed this hole in the wall gem near Sawtelle a lot! Would come back for sure

This dry ramen place is so good!! The noodles themselves are thick and fresh with great texture. I usually get the vegetable miso bowl but substitute the sauce for the regular meat sauce which they were nice about doing. The sauce is so flavorful and even more umami after adding their homemade vinegar. When we came on a Sunday during lunch, there was no wait. There is some street parking available. If you come with a group and spend more than 50$, you can play a coin machine to get free topping, or a percent off your meal.

I haven't written a Yelp review in a long time, but Mogu Mogu was so good, I had to. Hands down one of the best ramen spots I've ever been to. Their unique concept is a game-changer: you mix the ramen, enjoy it, add some sauce to elevate the flavors, and then finish it off by adding rice to soak up every last drop--it's that good.The space is small and cozy, with super friendly staff that made the experience even better. 5 out of 5 without question. I'd a thousand percent go back for lunch again.

It was my first time trying Mazemen and I was very pleased by the Deluexed! It packs a lot of flavor and also has a kick to it.I appreciate that it was easy to find street parking next door. It isn't as crowded as the rest of Sawtelle.The service was solid and it was very easy to get a table. The food portion was adequate and I felt pretty full after the meal.I liked that the environment was casual yet more intimate. This place seems like a great spot for pick up food as well.
