A last-minute meet up with friends to celebrate life brought us to Michelangelo - a charming little Italian eatery located in Silverlake. Founded in 1997 by the Stifano family, Michelangelo Ristorante is a friendly neighborhood gem that specializes in Southern Italian Cuisine. The dining room is cozy with a family friendly vibe and there is a patio area with heat lamps in the winter. Our server was Miguel. He was delightful & attentive. The festivities kicked off with cocktails. I had the Spicy Bail Gimlet as did another friend. Raspberry Mojito, Jack n Diet, & Peroni were also ordered. The Gimlet was tasty with just a hint of spiciness. I tried a sip of the Raspberry Mojito, and it was light & refreshing. We started with garlic bread, which I highly recommend. It was warm & buttery with fresh pieces of chopped garlic. For dinner we ordered: Insalata Caprino, Divina Salad (Special), Pappardelle Ossobuco (Special), Lobster Agnolotti (Special), Pepperoni Pizza, & Linguini Calamari. I had the Insalata Caprino - a yummy combo of romaine, radicchio, tomato, goat cheese, & olives. I tried a bite of the Linguini Calamari and a sliver of the pizza without pepperoni. Both were molto bene! My friends all loved their choices and cleaned their plates.Despite being full, we couldn't resist dessert. One friend was torn between the Spumoni & Tiramisu. Miguel recommended the Tiramisu. We also ordered Crème Caramel and an Ice Cream Sundae. However, Spumoni was delivered by mistake, but my friend decided to keep it. When owner Antonio noticed the slip up, he graciously brought over a complimentary Tiramisu. Much like the food, the desserts were delicious with the Tiramisu being the star! I'm glad we didn't miss out on it. My friend and I had a wonderful meal. The service was excellent, portions were generous, prices reasonable, and the food was fantastico! Next time someone asks me to recommend a good Italian restaurant, I'm sending them to Michelangelo!*Small parking lot or street parking.*Saturday & Sunday Bruch $15 Bottomless Mimosas*Happy Hour Monday - Friday 4 - 7 pm

We come here so often, we may as well have our picture on the wall! The food is excellent! Fresh, traditional, and superior to most Italian restaurants in Los Angeles. And it is a family owned business that I am proud to support. Servers are also just amazing- Devin, Julia, Miguel, Jose, Samuel- we are always glad to see them. And we always run into our neighbors there, who are equally committed regulars. Such a wonderful community institution.

We tried this place twice already and both times the food has been really good but their service sucks. It takes them a while to take your order, refill your drinks and to even get me my check. We were here for New Year's Eve so I understand them being busy but it's the same bad service when they weren't busy. I will not be back.

Having spent the day in Pasadena, we had an opportunity to return to our favorite Italian restaurant - Michelangelo Ristorante - located in nearby Silver Lake - where we met friends for an early dinner. Greeted at the door by super amiable owner Antonio, we were seated at a comfortable indoor table away from the others - as is our preference - to allow for some nice quiet conversation. In addition to the large indoor seating area there is also a large outdoor patio on which heaters are provided. It was relatively early on Sunday evening, but they had a good crowd which - given the hour - was testament to how wonderful - and popular - this eatery is insofar as quality of food, pricing, portion size and service. Have I said this is our favorite Italian restaurant? ;-)Even given how busy the restaurant was, our friendly server came over right away with menus and he took our drink orders. For me it was ice tea - no charge for the frequent refills. For an appetizer we ordered the "crostini di prosciutto e mozzarella" to share, described as "toasted bread with prosciutto, sage and fresh mozzarella." Perfection. So good you have to pace yourself in order to savor each bite. For my entree, I ordered the chicken parmesan, with pasta as my included side. Delicious and served in a potion so large that as hungry as I was, I had to take half of it home with me. My partner had them custom make bucatini with their arrabbiata sauce (spicy tomato sauce). They were more than happy to oblige his custom request. He loved it.Our friends both ordered the pollo fontina special of the day, described as "sautéed chicken breast, fontina cheese, prosciutto, mushrooms, Marsala wine glaze sauce, mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables." They've had it before and were extremely pleased to have an opportunity to have it again. For dessert we always have the home-made zuccotto. Their zuccotto falls under the heading of "to die for." Zuccotto is a fabulous, creamy Italian dessert cake described on their menu as "semi-frozen, chilled dessert made with three kinds of butter cake with ice cream, mixed nuts and a touch of Bailey's & Grand Marnier." It is mouthwateringly delicious. It is worth going off your diet for and doing penance later. After the first bite you will regret having ordered it to share. You will notice in the attached photo that a couple of bites have already been taken of the zuccotto as I could not get my cell phone cam out quick enough before it was attacked. We have been to Michelangelo's a number of times now and try to make a point to treat ourselves whenever we find ourselves in the area. We find the restaurant comfortable, the service is prompt, friendly and attentive, the food is consistently excellent, the portions are generous and pricing is extremely reasonable especially given what you find elsewhere in LA. It is with great pleasure that I highly recommend Michelangelo's. If you've never been and you are in search of good Italian food - give them a try. And if you've been in the past - it's probably time to go back!

My siblings and I are all from Oregon but they have moved to KTown, Santa Ana and Long Beach. We met up on a Saturday evening at Michelangelo and it did not disappoint! The ambiance is unmatched, beautifully decorated with indoor and outdoor (with heating lamp) seating. We arrived a bit early for our reservation and they were able to seat us immediately. The service was a 9/10, but understandably so they only had a handful of servers. The food was a 10/10 I ordered chicken fettuccine and it was perfectly creamy, garlicky and filling! We also had their garlic cheese bread for an appetizer *chefs kiss* My favorite part of the night is when the owner came and personally thanked us for dinning with them. We will definitely be back! And if you're looking for good Italian food that is decently priced, check out Michelangelo - you won't be disappointed!

What a hidden gem! If you're in the mood for authentic Italian cuisine, look no further. This place delivers. It's a great place to bring a date, family, or for business.-The FoodFor appetizers, we had the Burrata Bruschetta--a must-have--and the Calamari, which was so crunchy and perfectly executed. My main entrée was the eggplant parmigiana, and it was done to perfection.-The AmbianceThough the place isn't large, our group of 10 was well accommodated. We had reservations, and Toni was an amazing host throughout our visit.-The ServiceNo complaints here; they treated us like royalty. It was an amazing experience, and I highly recommend it.
