YUM! Came to this place for Sunday lunch at around 11:45am. It was empty and it was easy to find a table. We ordered the fried squid (5/5), chicken wings (5/5), shredded potatoes (4/5), cucumber salad (4/5), and popcorn chicken (4/5) to share. I personally ordered the Beef Stew Rice Noodles which is one of the Chef's Specialties and it was delicious. The broth was so flavorful and had a hint of spiciness to it. The servers were attentive and food came out fast. There's also a parking lot for the plaza right next door which is super convenient as well.

This place seemed like a really unique concept from the outside, but come to find out its what we make at home on a daily and its not as special as it seems. We ordered the tomato beef shank and the chefs special chrysanthemum soup. Both packaged to-go and their to-go packaging is super convenient and easy. While both broths tasted good, it was nothing special. There were barely any meat pieces for the tomato beef shank bowl, so it lacked alot of protein and honestly ingredients in general. Just seemed like we paid for one portion of noodles and some soup. The chrysanthemum bowl had little to no actual chrysanthemum taste, but came with lots of meat bits put together. It was a mixture of luncheon meat, chicken I think, and loose beef slices. Both the noodles for each entree were on the softer side and we prefer our noodles a little more al dente. Staff were really nice and friendly. I wouldnt come here again, but for someone who has never had this style of noodle and broth before it can be an positive experience.

Came on a quiet weekend which was great as we got seated immediately when we got there. This is a solid spot for a quick Asian noodles/soups hit up and the place is fairly small. We got the cucumber salad and I got the tomato noodle soup with fish. I thought the broth had great flavor, very generous amount of noodles were added, and it was just a good hearty bowl of tomato noodle soup. I also thought the cucumber salad was good too. Very refreshing and tasty. Great spot, easy and quick service, and good comfort food overall.

I came on a weekend during lunch and there was a short wait due to the limited seating but employees hurried to clear and clean off tables as they saw the 3 of us put our name down.Food (4.5/5 stars):Pickled pepper rice noodles w/ beef shank (4/5 stars): I ordered this because it's a very tradition soup but it's not super common in LA and it did not disappoint! Although you could slightly taste the MSG, there really aren't any places that don't use MSG anymore; besides the flavor was all there--mildly sour & spicy. The texture of the noodle was perfect too, however the beef shank was a lot tougher and drier than expected. Usually beef shank is super tender and basically falls apart w/ little to no bite so this was disappointing. But my favorite part of this dish was actually the fried tofu skin rolls that I added to my soup. It soaked up all the flavors of the soup & was so tasty! Beef stew rice noodles (5/5 stars): I think this was the best dish out of everything we ordered. The beef was so incredibly tender & was not too gelatinous! The soup was super flavorful as well and had so much body to it.Tomato rice noodles w/ beef shank (4.5/5 stars):This broth was refreshing and was not too heavy in flavor and additional seasonings. It's a lot lighter but still packs a lot of clean tomato flavor. It felt like i was eating a salad in noodle form hahaha definitely did not feel guilty at all after this! However the beef shank was just as tough & dry as the other bowl's beef shank, so I would say it wasn't just my bowl that got unlucky with the tough pieces. Overall everything was quite delicious and very cheap ($14-$17) considering that a bowl of noodles around the area is now around $20!

Reflecting on the days of California Hot Pot, we decided to try Meow Rice Noodle for a recent Thursday lunch. We were seated right away, and I already knew I wanted to order the Yaxi Lemon Tea--a popular drink trending in the SGV. Interestingly, "Yaxi" translates to "Duck Poo," referring to a specific green hue in Chinese, which, as a native Cantonese speaker, I still find amusing.I opted for the beef shank noodles in tomato broth, while my husband chose the Signature Chrysanthemum Rice Noodle. The waitress had no problem accommodating our request to exclude shrimp, quail eggs, and ham in favor of extra chicken and pork. My husband also customized his dish further by adding bean curd and fried tofu, showcasing the flexibility to personalize your noodles as you like. The dishes were served in tall, ladle-like bowls that added a unique touch--and seemed to keep the broth warm longer! The tomato broth was incredibly flavorful, and the chrysanthemum broth, while delicious, reminded me more of a pork tonkatsu broth. Both noodle portions were generous. To complement the meal, we ordered cucumber salad and shredded potato salad. Both had just the right amount of spice--without the overpowering, numbing mala spice that I personally dislike.Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal, and the portions were large enough to provide leftovers for another meal. Parking can be a bit tricky here as the small lot is shared. Additional parking can be found behind the car wash between Atlantic and 4th.

The perfect casual meal on a cold winter evening! I love eating in Alhambra because there's no shortage of delicious Asian food, and Meow Rice Noodle is no exception. First, the parking lot makes it so convenient to visit. The menu is also very easy: you pick your soup base (I went with tomato, the only non-spicy option), protein (there's pork, beef, etc), and you get rice noodles in a delicious soup with veggies! Souper simple, souper delicious. The service is quick and efficient, and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. Although my friend and I stayed late chatting and catching up, they didn't rush us or made us feel like we needed to leave - even though we realized we stayed until they needed to close! Definitely recommend for an easy meal.

Meow Rice Noodle has some unique features, like the metal bowls that keep your noodles warm throughout your meal--definitely a cool touch. We tried their chrysanthemum signature broth, and while it didn't taste much like chrysanthemum, it was still pretty good overall--filling, nutritious, and comforting. The toppings were hit or miss:Beef, spam, and noodles were all solid--good textures and flavors.Chicken felt unnecessary and didn't add much flavor to the dish.Fish add-on was a bit too salty for my taste. This place has potential, but it wasn't quite a standout for me. Worth a try if you're in the mood for a hearty noodle bowl

Located in Downtown Alhambra this spot serves up some pretty solid rice noodle soups. Came in a little after it opened and there was still plenty of seats. This spot is pretty unique since the soup bowls come in huge ladles. I ordered through the QR code that was connected to the table and the food came shortly after. I tried out these items.Pickled Pepper Soup with Sliced Beef Noodles - Flavors were actually really nice, slightly sour from the pickle and soup came super hot (warm). The sliced beef was nice and noodles were perfectly cooked. I liked this. (4.5/5)Spicy Soup with Fish Fillet - The fish was delicious. Be warned the soup actually is quite spicy. It's got that schezwan kick to it forsure so if you can't handle the spicy don't get this one or ask for it to be less spicy. (4/5)Popcorn Chicken - It comes with a spicy dry sauce and overall its delicious. Personally I wish it came crispier since it was more on the soggy side but the flavors was good. (4/5)I felt the price was pretty reasonable and the food tasted good. Definitely a unique experience with the bowls being in ladles but the soup was comforting and would come back here.

Meow Rice Noodle took over California Hot Pot, but kept the same layout and the way you order. I came with my cousin on a weekday night right before a rush and was able to easily find seating and order through the QR code. Food came out really quick and everything was super hot, so it was perfect the chilly night. I ordered the spicy fish filet rice noodle and we shared the cucumber salad. I can probably pass on the cucumber salad - as much as I love cilantro, I think it was more of a cilantro salad than cucumber. The noodles came with a generous amount of veggies and fish, but everything got too salty about halfway through. Overall a solid spot on Main St for a quick dinner!

The beef stew was great! Loved the addition of daikon and it was lovely and warming for a rainy night in town. Will definitely come again when I'm in the area next!
