• Famous Mushroom Soup 1 Pint

  This soup was inspired by my grandmother who virtually invented her version after having a similar soup as a child and then later being influenced by the great restaurant in the plaza athene hotel in paris. The restaurant was on the ave montaigne, number 25, and marlene lived at number 12.1 of her tricks was to use simple button mushrooms rather than those with a stronger flavor. This is an adaption of that recipe with adjustments for American ingredients. Comes with dill as a garnish. Fresh button mushrooms, chicken stock, broth, butter, wheat flower (rue), yellow onions, fresh dill, dry white wine, garlic, sea salt, freshly ground black pepper.

• Carrot Ginger Soup 1 Pint

  Yul Brynner was a well-known actor who was probably most famous for playing the king in "the kind and I" on Broadway and the east-end in London, which he did for many years (over 5000 performances). The show was a musical, but Yul wasn't a trained singer, and as a result he suffered from swollen vocal cords fairly often. Marlene decided to make him a curative soup to help him reduce inflammation. While carrots were the base, she also used ginger, garlic, fennel, cumin and turmeric to tighten the vocal cords, and reduce swelling. The result is a delicious soup that's really good for you, even if you cant act or sing! In the mid 80 s my mother and I made batches of the stuff for Yul when he did his last Broadway theater revival run on west 53 rd. street. Comes with grated ginger as a garnish. Add croutons for crunch. Carrots, vegetable stock, broth, fresh fennel, yellow onions, turmeric, cumin, olive oil, butter, ginger, salt, pepper, parsley, garlic, and fresh chives.

• Cauliflower Vichyssoise 1 Pint

  A truly farm to table soup that tastes like the best cream of potato leek, but isnt. People love this soup, not only does it taste amazing but its totally low carb too! It can also be eaten chilled like a true vichyssoise. My mother made the ultimate potato version, and this was adapted from that. Like all our soups, there is no milk or cream involved. Comes with chopped bacon as a garnish.   This soup takes 8 hours to make. When it comes to a true chicken soup, you can't rush it! As a child i remember my grandmother and mother having pots of boiling chickens on the stove all the time. It was hot in the kitchen! But the result was worth it, a rustic and hearty soup with all the benefits of a soothing rich broth (rich in collagen), tender poached chicken and healthy vegetables, a soup with enough heft to make it a main meal. Made with the very best and freshest ingredients. This is adapted from my great grandmothers recipe. We include parsley as a garnish.   This soup is all about the unique flavor combination of honey glazed ham and fresh peas. The absolute best ingredients make this a perfect soup. Inspired by my mother, when the family returned to America in the 70 s, our family came to know the famous bone-in baked ham with a honey glaze. While there were plenty of smoked meats in europe, this American classic ham style was a thing of unique beauty. Seeing a perfect opportunity to utilize the leftovers and the large bone, she added fresh peas and created a sweet pea soup. The result is a very nutritious soup that is sweet and hearty, and very kid friendly! The honey ham is actually blended into the soup! We provide honey ham pieces for extra richness. Sweet peas, yellow onion, butter, garlic, salt, baked honey ham, wild honey, spices, and ham broth, stock.

• Classic Borscht 1 Pint

  Borscht is seemingly always associated with the Russian empire, but this famous beet soup was actually born in the ukraine. From there, it made its way throughout eastern europe and on to the table of my grandparents. Marlene was German, and rudi (my grandfather) was east-czechoslovakian (although the border was exchanged several times with russia.) this is our adapted recipe in the Ukrainian style and is about as hearty as it gets. You can add a traditional dollop of sour cream, but it's optional. We include dill as a garnish. Beets, beef steak, beef stock, broth, potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, butter, olive oil, red wine vinegar, cabbage, parsley, salt, pepper, garlic, and imported tomatoes.

• Northern Italian Minestrone 1 Pint

  My father was a northern Italian, a part of Italy where the culinary concentration is on lighter fare, and they tend to avoid the heavier sauces and textures of Southern Italy. This soup has everything in it you would expect but rather than being a solid mass, it is more delicate and can even be served as an appetizer. This is my grandmother jane's recipe (my dad's mom) who was born and raised in torino. We provide the macaroni which you add to the soup when it's hot and a garnish of grated Parmesan cheese.
