Came from Pasadena looking for a cozy place to step outside of the devastation going on and found exactly what we needed. Food, service, and ambiance were 10/10. .

Fantastic! We visited this establishment on a busy Saturday evening. Thankfully we had a reservation, it was BUSY, and now I know why! It's amazing. It was our son's bday and he wanted to go out, since they have a vegan menu we decided to try there. He and his girlfriend ordered the vegan pizza , pasta . The pizza (I tried) was terrible! But they said the pasta was perfect. I ordered the deep dish pizza and holy cow! It's the best, the crust has a perfect crunch the softness of it. It's hard to explain. The lasagna was delicious as well . Something about their sauce- u just have to try for your self. it really has me wanting to go bac k again sooner than later! Our server was busy and she forgot a few things, I asked for ranch and was given it towards the end and I was. Bout finished and was still charged. Oh well. The other server that helped was a lil stinky but over all we enjoyed our experience! We will be back

Tldr - Masa is good, but there's better----I'm from the east coast, and the east knows pizza. Now that we've cleared the air, Masa of Echo Park is good, but it's not the best in LA. To start, we ordered the Lots of Meat deep dish pizza and the Laguna thin crust. The Laguna thin crust was not pizza. It was more like a cracker, with cheese, sauce and sliced basil on top. The flavor though, top of the game. I could've eaten 3 "pies" of the thin crust. But, that's the problem...I could've had 3 "pies". I'm putting quotes because it isn't a pie to me. It's a cracker pizza. But...Delicious! The Lots of Meat deep dish though? One slice and I wanted to take a nap. Ate a 2nd slice..I needed to take a walk around Echo Park. Definitely filling, but, the dough/crust was dense and flavorless. The dough was just there, relying on the sauce, meat and cheese to carry itself to stardom. The meat was good. The sauce and cheese are delicioso, but it looked like they dumped a can of san marzanos on the pie and threw it in the oven. Speaking of oven, the deep dish came out luke warm. Masa didn't even give me a chance to burn my face off, disappointing. Seriously, the deep dish came out warm. How sway? I will say, my deep dish leftovers were pretty damn good the next day, except the dough. Nothing could've saved that dough. All in all, service was great, and the food was good, but, I probably wouldn't go back. To Masa..can we get a Laguna pie, in regular form?

The Laveta pickle pizza is devine! I still love the deep dish the best! This is a super chill extra friendly kind of place. Families come here as well as folks on a date. The service is excellent and the servers are all great looking hip young people! I also ordered the carrot cake to go cuz i was too full to eat it there but could not leave without it. The carrot cake and the bread pudding areexceptionally delicious !I LOVE Masa! Thank you Rob and Rhonda!

It can be hard to find good pizza in LA but Masa in Echo Park definitely provides a solution. If deep dish pizza is your thing, or you just find yourself craving a delicious, super cheesy, filling slice of pizza, then this is the place for you.The deep dish pizza is crispy yet soft underneath, the sauce is excellent, and there must be at least a pound of cheese on this thing. The crust is flaky and tastes almost buttery. We got the pizza with pepperoni and red peppers but you can add whatever toppings you want or get one of their pre-made pies. It came delivered with Parmesan and some red pepper flakes. One deep dish pie probably serves 2-4 people depending how hungry you are. It was so good I personally got through 3 out of 8 slices and was left super full. My pizza craving was fully satisfied after this pizza. I was pleased that it held together enough to eat it by hand but if you so choose you could also go knife and fork style. I loved that there were plenty of toppings, enough that you could taste them in each bite, and the pizza had a good ratio of dough to sauce to cheese. Excited for the next time I order from them.

Masa is an Echo Park staple that I love visiting. The restaurant has a cozy, familial feel. They're best known for their authentic Chicago-style deep dish pizzas. I've also tried deep dish when I was actually in Chicago, but I thought Masa's was way better. I've gotten it both as take out and while dining in. Just be prepared to wait about 40 min or so since those thick pies take a while to cook. When I don't have the time for the deep dish pizza, I've ordered other items on thr menu and they're just as good! This time we got the meatball sandwich, mozzarella sticks, and mixed green salad. I really loved the mozzarella sticks. The breading was crunchy and so flavorful. And the melted mozarella inside gave the perfect cheese pulls! I'm always looking for the best cannoli, so we ordered one for dessert. Masa's is definitely one of my favorites! The filling is sweet, creamy, and I love the amount of chocolate chips they used. I really wish I had a bigger appetite so I could try their other desserts too because they all sound so yummy!

Yuuuuuuum! Everything I tried at Masa was incredibly delicious from the California Caprese to the cannoli! Including avocado in the traditional Caprese salad was so unique and the flavors I've always needed. The bread was fresh from the oven. The pizza was true to Chicago Tavern style pizza and named after streets in the neighborhood. I finished my meal with a cannoli and a box for all of the leftovers from the generous portions.I sat at the bar and, talked to the owners a bit. The staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. The whole place had a homey feel that you often miss in the big city. A true gem in the echo Park neighborhood.

NEW FAVORITE PIZZA SPOT ALERT! ok let's just start off by saying the staff is so nice and professional, I felt like I was at my friends house and the server was my best friend checking up on me every now and then making sure I was good. Something I hardly ever experience in a food spot. The whole place is so cozy, very enjoyable to just sit there. Now let's get to the food. - the bread with butter was so fluffy and warm I knew I wouldn't be able to stop once I started and I didn't want to ruin my appetite but it was so hard not to! -the mozzarella sticks were ok! I loved the marinera sauce tho! -the fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp was my favorite! 10000000/10! It was so lemony yet flavorful and the noodles were perfectly cooked! My absolute new favorite dish ever! -jalapeño eggrolls were interesting! Not so much flavor as I expected but they weren't bad at all. It was missing that spicy kick for sure. -we got the meat pizza, and it did not disappoint! The crust was so amazing and I'm not a crust girl at alllllllll but I just could not wait for another crust bite! The sauce was delicious and the meat just tasted fresh if that makes sense? Any way I really know I found my new favorite pizza spot!

Deep Dish Pizza is probably the Best in LA area. Restaurant is great and has a mellow vibe, soft lighting and great atmosphere. This ain't the place to come for fast service, deep dish usually takes about one hour after you order. Reason for the Three stars and not five. They screwed up my order and didn't offer to fix it. Pizza was missing ingredients and all they offered was to bring them on the side so we can put the uncooked ingredients on top of the pizza. WTF!!!They should have offered to take the pizza back and redo the order, plus a discount for the mistake and extra time that we would have had to wait.Worst part is that they weren't even busy like most nights.
