Mariscos Jalisco

This place will be a must visit from now every time I visit LA. We arrived on a slow Tuesday afternoon and there were a few people waiting for their orders. Had to wait about 10 minutes for our order to be made. What I didn't know is that they also have seating in the building they're parked next to. With bathrooms and all. That was very convenient because I didn't want to eat all of this in my rental. Service was also great. Very friendly people in that truck. My son and I both got two shrimp tacos each. You get a perfect crunchy taco with a mixture of shrimp and potatoes, then topped with a tomato salsa and avocado. A truly amazing experience. My son wasn't looking forward to this place was just as amazed in the delicious these tacos were. He's definitely down to come back again as well. I also ordered an aguachile tostada. That's another thing Chicago is lacking. Some damn good aguachiles. These weren't as spicy as I have preferred but that's probably a good thing since I was traveling. The sauce used for the aguachile was very flavorful. I literally grabbed a spoon to eat the remanning sauce on the plate. The tostada was fairly priced and a good portion. They also have a bottle of their habanero sauce on the table that tasted really good and can give your dish that extra heat if desired. I can't wait to come back.

Believe the hype! I work in Boyle Heights and Mariscos Jalisco is my go-to treat for myself after work. It's one of the most celebrated food trucks in Los Angeles and deserves all of its accolades. The tacos de camarones are my go-to order every time. They're crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, with an unmatched flavor that only gets better with the included salsa and generous avocado halves. Every time I go, I branch out and try something new on the menu, too, whether it's the tostada de Poseidon, aguachile, or ceviche. I've tried nearly the whole menu now and everything is fantastic and has its own unique flavor. I want to add that MJ was one of the first food trucks that went out of its way to feed the firefighters of Los Angeles during our devastating 2025 Palisades/Altadena wildfires. This is the kind of business that makes me proud to call myself an Angelino. My highest admiration to the entire MJ team!

Will try other items next time!

2nd favorite shrimp dorados place! Compared to Mariscos 4 Vientos, I appreciate that seating is more readily available during busy times, there are bathrooms, and there's the yummy house made habanero sauce on the table inside! They also include limes without you asking - this is much appreciated. Ambience is very casual, it feels like I'm eating in someone's house with the tables and chairs. Parking's also easy and mostly street parking.

This place is a staple of LA Mexican food especially for seafood. The taco de camaron is their mainstay with their very crunchy shell and sauce and tender shrimp and fillings. Their ceviche is also excellent especially when I order tostada mixto which comes with octopus fish and shrimp together which goes together very well and it is very tender. I would love to come back to try their Poseidon and peinados. The staff is very chill and orderly and the seating is basically just the establishment across from it. The parking is somewhat hard to find when it's a popular time but you'll eventually find parking if you look jaes enough.

Taco truck across the street from the Estrada Courts. Came for the shrimp tacos but was blown away with the Poseidon tostada. So much fresh seafood and fantastic spice. Fast service and while it's a truck, they have an inside place to sit and eat.

After many years of wanting to try this spot, I took the opportunity since I was nearby, and it did not disappoint! It is a food truck with a dining area immediately in front of the parked food truck with plenty of seating. I approached, and placed my order with a polite and friendly lady. As it was my first time here, she helped me with my ordering. I ordered half a dozen of the prepared oysters, "Peinados." It was an oyster on half shell topped with a bit of ceviche and one shrimp. I added a little salt and some of their proprietary habanero hot sauce (VERY HOT BUT DELISH!), and some lime and went to town, wish I had a beer to wash it down, however still very fresh and tasty. Then I tried their crispy fried shrimp tacos. They were topped with some salsa and avocado. The filling of the taco was light and shrimpy, perfectly fried. I then I started on the "Poseidon," which basically was a tostada de ceviche topped with a medley of very well seasoned seafood, including octopus, shrimp, and cucumber. Let me tell you, this by far was the highlight of the meal and will simply return just for this alone!

I have been craving these things for a couple years now. I told myself that when I was in LA this weekend, I was definitely coming back to get some. I went with 3 shrimp tacos and a liter of Mexican Coke. $12 or so. Tacos were BOMB! Best crispy shelled tacos, ever! Crunchy shells, tons of shrimp, great sauce and slices of avocado. I ate 3 but could have downed about 8-10 of these things. They are so damn good! Maybe the best taco in Los Angeles?

Mariscos Jalisco is a favorite lunch spot with coworkers. There's a seating area next to the truck. Hope you can find street parking along Olympic. The place only takes cash so be prepared!For the food: They were awarded the 2024 LA Times Gold Award. Well deserved for their famous shrimp tacos. It is delicious and a must-try spot in Los Angeles. The shrimp tacos do contain gluten, so ceviche may be the best options for the gluten-free folks.

Got a shrimp tostada, fish tostada, and shrimp taco. The tostadas were unbelievable. So fresh and tasty. The thing that blew me away was the shrimp taco. Shrimp and potatoes inside of a fried tortilla with their salsa on it. It was sooooo good. Will definitely be coming back
