Two of us went there for lunch today. We went open run to beat the traffic but was quiet being the holiday.Service staff were kind and prompt. We had Pescado macho and Combination fried seafood. They were great and seafoods were fresh. The best restaurant we went in a few years.Excellent!,,

Finding good Peruvian food in LA can be tough, but Mario's is a solid choice. I walked in about an hour before closing, and the servers were welcoming and happy to seat me.The menu offers a wide selection, mostly seafood-focused. I went with the Lomo Saltado, mixed ceviche, and Chupe de Camarón.The Chupe de Camarón was an excellent choice for the cold weather--rich, comforting, and packed with great seafood flavor. Hearty portions makes this soup great for sharing. The mixed ceviche also came in a generous portion, but something tasted a little off. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but it lacked the freshness I typically expect from ceviche. It still tasted good, and I finished it, but I had some reservations. The Lomo Saltado was the standout dish of the night. The beef was tender, with that perfect Peruvian-Chinese fusion flavor you hope for when ordering this dish. It came with plenty of purple onions that complemented the beef well, along with a side of white rice. They also have a green sauce on the table (not sure of the name), but it added an extra kick that made the Lomo Saltado even better. I'll definitely be coming back for more.

We used to order takeout from Mario's, but after today, I'll never order from them again or recommend them to anyone. The service was terrible. For some inexplicable reason, they didn't have any of the items my parents wanted to eat.We decided to leave and go to Inti, two blocks away. The food and service there were much better by a long shot.

This place has my heart!!I first came here in July or August with friends and family.... Oh boy!! I am not a big meat eater but the Lomo Saltado! It is juicy, savory, hot, flavorful what a delightful dish! Accompanied by rice, delicious rice! The sauce they have on the table WOW!!They bring you freshly made bread and water.I now have tried the shrimp Saltado and the beef and I am in love!! There might be a wait time sitting but it is worth it! The waitress's are nice! Makes the whole experience such good time!

Parking is tough but we came before the dinner rush at 7. Ordered the lomo saltado and mixed ceviche. Ceviche had shrimp, octopus, and squid, which were all very fresh and very citrus heavy. Beef in lomo was tender and fries were well seasoned!

Hands down the best lomo saltado! It's huge and packed with flavor! The steak mostly tender with a couple tough pieces. It's enough for 2 people! The place is tiny inside. So I got my dinner to go. The spot it packed and I went during the week. Parking is a nightmare (but hey that's LA.) mos definitely worth the buzz. Can't wait to go back and try another dish. Kinda mad there aren't others like it or close by now me in OC :)

be ready to wait! we had mario's to-go always and there was a reason for that. we arrived around 520-530 and waited about 30-40 minutes outside and then another 40-45 minutes after we had ordered our food. the server apologized that they had an influx of to-go orders at our arrival (and several of the tables that were seated just before us and after) all experienced an unusually long wait for food. we were so hungry but we knew to respect the peruvian time lol other tables that arrived maybe 10 mins after us were a bit luckier as we observed that the food was coming out a bit faster. it's a bummer that it took forever but the food was tasty and lomo saltado really retains the heat very well. the portions are huge! enough for two people to share the lomo saltado. i would highly recommend arriving as a bigger group and sharing it family style. i love the potatoes in the papa a la huancaina - it's a cold dish and the sauce is pretty tasty and creamy. the egg is pretty overdone but it's not the main star of the dish. i had thought the yellow sauce is egg yolk but it's actually cheese and yellow peruvian pepper!! the fried rice with seafood was good - not overly seasoned and had tons of seafood. i did feel that some of the little squid was a little undercooked, so i didn't enjoy that a much. their lomo saltado is their best dish imo but i wanna try their soups next time :) oh and their green spicy sauce... is a must!!!

The parking is terrible and here's a sketchy 7-11 next door but the food is so delicious. I was visiting LA and made sure to carve out some time to check this place out. Ordered a Lomo Saltado with an Inca Kola. The bread they serve prior to the meal was fresh out of the oven. Had to restrain myself not to fill up on the bread. It was so good. The flavor profile for Lomo Saltado is unique. It's like a Chinese stir fry with steak, fried tomatoes, onions and French fries Yes French fries with a side of lightly seasoned white rice. As if this wasn't flavorful enough, they have a signature green sauce which is refreshingly spicy. The Inca Kola is a must to counteract the heat from the green sauce. I ate to the point of being uncomfortably full but I still couldn't finish it myself. Definitely a shareable dish.I went during lunch and lucked out with no wait but there was a line that formed shortly after I got there. This was easily the best food I had while visiting LA. Highly recommend.

IF YOU LIKE EATING MUD! GO HERE! Waiting over an hour to get a terrible surprise. If there was a no star I would choose that, I thought I was in a bad dream. What is completely unacceptable is how there was mud in my food. Taking a bite into DIRT. Absolutely disgusting and such a bad experience I wont go back. The waiter asked hey is everything alright. I said Miss I think there's mud in my food I showed her the half bitten fry with gunk on it. She stuck her finger in the gunk and rubbed it. Took my fork with the muddy fry and goes to the back. She comes back and says oh they think it's from the cilantro they were in a rush so they must've not washed it good. She had the audacity to ask if I wanted a box.

Excessive wait time, Expect a minimal 1-2 hr wait. Ordered the Loma Saltado and found dirt from the cilantro on my plate as it wasn't washed thoroughly. Horrible service and experience. Would never go back! The waitress and owner comped my order!
