more like a 3.7/5 actually.... got one of the combos, i forget. the meats were pretty awesome, and the bbq sauce went well with it too. the cornbread was perfectly moist and sweet, and the mac and cheese hit the spot! the fixings were where things fell a bit short. i expected the fixings to complement the heaviness of the meats and cheese/carbs... instead, it added more saltiness that didn't really cut it. good if youre craving some bbq but if u could find a place with a more holistic experience... do dat

I felt scammed eating at Maple Block Meat Co. I rarely give one star but I have never felt as disappointed eating at an establishment on the Westside.I ordered the meat plate with two sides and chose the beef brisket as my main meat. The meat was flavorful, but the portion size was extremely small. I paid $26 (not including tax and tip) just to get two puny pieces of brisket. I could have gone to McDonald's and gotten a much better meal but ordering chicken nuggets. The sides were much bigger than the meat and you would be better off eating that alone. The portion sizes look nothing like the images online. The water they served us was also bad. I I never had experience where I questioned the quality of the tapwater. When I paid, I asked the server for receipt and she never printed it out. She took forever to print it so my friend and I left. The environment is nice, but keep in mind that seating is limited and it is usually taken up by reservations at dinner time.Street parking is available, but you have to compete with the other restaurant attendees.Save your money and go elsewhere for bbq.

This is one of my go-to spots for happy hour, and they have some tasty appetizers and drinks.Food:Nachos - The queso and toppings on these nachos are truly amazing! I love the crunch from the homemade tortilla chips and the tangy bite from the pickled onions. Absolutely a 5/5 Cornbread - So moist on the inside! It's not like that dry/dense, crumbly cornbread, this one is soft, slightly sweet and simply delicious. I actually had a little debate at the table because for me, I'd choose this cornbread over Hatchet Hall's. I prefer cornbread that's slightly sweet and moist rather than dense and savory, but that's just my opinion. 5/5 Brisket Tacos - Always a good choice! However, sometimes the tortillas can be a bit too hard to chew. 4/5 Wings - I could definitely pass on these. They're supposedly smoked, but they don't pack much flavor. Maybe if they had a buffalo-style sauce, I'd enjoy them more. 2.5/5 Drinks:Smoked Old-Fashioned - If you love a good old-fashioned, their smoked version is amazing--at least according to the old-fashioned enthusiasts at my table. 4/5 Classic Margarita - I actually really like their classic margarita! It has a nice balance--not too strong, which I prefer. I even ordered two that night and wouldn't have minded a third, and I'm not much of a drinker. 4/5 Dessert:My waiter recommended the chocolate chip cookies, but honestly, I've had better. If dessert is your thing, I'd pass on this and just get another drink instead. 2.5/5 Service - Always great! The staff is welcoming and friendly.Cleanliness - Good. This will definitely remain one of my go-to neighborhood spots for happy hour.Definitely CHECK THEM OUT!!!

Extremely disappointing. We have been here three times now, and each time was worse than the next. I took forever to get seated, even with a reservation. Other times the food took forever, even when they weren't busy. The barbecue is very mediocre, they consistently mess up our order And I don't feel the quality reflects the price tag. Unfortunate that we took family here, hoping to provide a great barbecue experience which fell incredibly flat. Pass on returning.

I have been to Maple Block twice, both during DineLA. My first time there, they were out of brisket and offered tri tip as a substitution, so I got a plate of tri-tip, pulled pork, mac & cheese, and ranch beans. The second time, they had brisket, so I had the same plate again but with brisket instead of tri tip.The pulled pork was the best of all the meats that I tried. The brisket was decent despite being a little dry. The tri-tip was terrible. Thank goodness that it is not on the regular menu because it was chewy to the point of being practically inedible. The mac & cheese was as expected. The beans were not my favorite. Excluding the tri-tip because it was such an outlier, the food was overall okay. However, the location is great. When the weather is nice, Maple Block's outdoor patio is a good casual spot to hang out at. There is happy hour on the weekdays from 4 to 6 P.M. and brunch on the weekends. The staff is super nice. There is a small parking lot and plenty of street parking.

À decent BBQ place. The atmosphere is the type of rustic look you'd expect, and the host was friendly. The server was also friendly, but the food we ordered didn't match what was served. It took several attempts to explain the inaccuracy. The sage cocktail was disappointing. It tasted like a Cosmo made with ocean spray cranberry juice - no hint of sage whatsoever. The draft beer replacement was fine, but took a while. The pulled pork was tasty; thé brisket was dry. The fries were not overly seasoned nor piping hot, but had a good texture. The beans were good and the Mac and cheese was average. The kale salad was large and tasted fine. The tacos were okay - again, thé pork tasted better. There are plenty of other options out there, but this was fine.

Good service in spite of catering to a large group a rather difficult table some people I was with even wanted to move inside. One person with me made the unusual request of no ice in a cocktail (WTF?) props on service for dealing with that. There also was some miscommunication in regard to what smoked old fashioned was unavailable/86ed from the menu. Overall I loved all of my dishes except the Macaroni side it should either be adjusted or 86ed. The beans and rest of the dishes were amazing. Also their pickling methods for their pickles and onions are top notch. Overall a good establishment and I didn't notice a Barback so the Bartender soloing it all was an MVP tonight. That smoked old fashioned imparts an overall amazing flavor that paired well with the brisket. 10/10 on service for suggesting it.

Maple Block has quickly become one of my favorite spots--the food here is absolutely fantastic every time.I usually go for the Beck, which is always on point, but the green chilaquiles are solid as well. No matter what I get, the flavors are always incredible, and the quality is top-notch.One of the best parts about coming here is the bottomless mimosas or bottomless Aperol spritz--both are a great deal and definitely make for a fun brunch. Every time I come, I go with one or the other, and it's always worth it.The staff here is super kind and very attentive, making the whole experience even better. Eating outside is awesome, especially on a nice day--it's a great setup and just adds to the vibe.

I was very pleased with the restaurant's ambiance. Entering the restaurant after walking around the busy Culver City area was such a relieved. They have plenty of parking spots next to the restaurant. We went on a Tuesday, so again couldn't help myself to get some tacos. The tacos were amazing especially the pork belly and well priced, $4-$4.50. They have a very good line cook special, one beer and a shot of tequila, $11.This restaurant also have a pretty cat in the patio. It's Maple and she was around when we were dining. It so well behaved and knows not to come to the dining table. Would definitely go back again.

Best damn BBQ in town - if not the whole west coast. Just moved to the area and everything about this BBQ restaurant is perfection! I grew up in southern VA. Ive tried it all. This place knows what they are doing! First time I've not been disappointed. We had pulled pork, spare ribs and all of their sides. Wow. Never been somewhere where all their sides were incredible. Service was also spot on!Oh! Let's not forget their cocktails. Holy moly they are darn good! Just do yourself a favor and go here. NOW!
