Mama's Chicken and Market

I love this neighborhood gem. The chicken sausages are a must have. Whenever Im in the area I stock up. They are exceptional on the grill.The service is excellent. The family that work there are always so sweet and welcoming..The deserts they make are also amazing.You can find southern, creole, soul food seasonings etc... there as well.Parking on the side or street.

Perfect little mom and pop market. I have been to the market to pick up the chicken or turkey sausages. A little tip make sure you come in a couple days before any holiday. They will be packed with people ordering sausages. They can sell out fast. Today is the third time I have sat down and ordered a meal prepared here. Honestly, Mama's never misses with the flavor. I got the turkey sausage sandwich and potato salad. I love the whole atmosphere of a seat in deli, it's nice to eat and watch the community socialize. Especially with the lovely staff that prepare everything with love.

Been coming to mamas since I was younger I still drive 45mins to come get the best chicken sausage links in town not to happy with the prices $30 for a dam 5lbs box..lol but it's worth it

Head to the back! During the holidays, I usually purchase chicken sausages for the holidays. One day, i saw that they were selling hot food so i purchased breakfast to go. The food was fresh and the service was good. Everyone was very friendly and the ambiance reminded me my moms kitchen. They do have a eating area. Once you get your order, you need to walk to the front and pay first then take the receipt back before they prepare your food. Service is fast. I really enjoyed the sausage on a bun with grilled onions and mustard. I paired it with my ice coffee i picked up at South LA coffee cafe. Good food, good eats! It's good comfort food. Another time i had grits, eggs and fried chicken wings. The food is fresh and hot. Nothing but good and my favorite spot to get food to go.

Anything off the menu is fire!!! The service is exquisite & you're treated like family. The ambiance is setup like a convenient market and towards the back you place your order for pick up. You can order anything from breakfast, lunch and dinner.

My first time coming in to see what they had. I stood in the front line, then walked to the back. I asked about the chicken wing(s) and red beans & rice special but it was only one wing. So, I ordered a two piece leg and thigh, with a little bit of fries. I went back to the front line and paid. The chicken had a bland crisp crust on the outside and wasn't cooked through. Perhaps it wasn't a good day to go?

So, you go to the back and tell the person what you want; they write it down. Then you go to the front and pay for your order after giving the cashier the ticket you were given in the back, then go back to the back to let the person cooking know you've paid for your order. And then, your order is started. We had fried chicken, it was okay. I was moved by some reviews, but I'm good. Jim Dandy's has good chicken too. However, I do want to try the chicken sausages...

Best chicken sausage ever! Whenever in the area, I'am sure to get enough to put in my freezer so delicious and the owner is so welcoming, great family business

This place was the best spot to go to in the early 2000's now they have went up so much for the links and the links have gotten smaller as much as I love to come here I refuse to be taken advantage of I have found a new market that has links just as good

Been going there for years getting the chicken links with no problem. I went there yesterday and ordered the 5lb box of hot links. when I got home and opened the box, there were no links inside. Just a big glob of frozen meat. As I don't live in the immediate vicinity, I went back this morning explaining the situation. and was pretty much told, " too bad. you should've checked before you left". After ordering links, and getting links for years, I was totally caught off guard. How was I even supposed to know that they sold the meat without the casings??!! I don't know if this was intentional, and they're running some kinda scam or not. I just thought I'd share.
