Not one of my favorite spots, but speaking objectively, this is a solid kbbq location. Their food quality, service and maintenance is very consistent. Please note, this is not an all you can eat location. You pay for what you eat. You can select specific items or get a "combo" for a variety of meats. You can cook the meat yourself, but the staff will help you out along the way. They will cut meats that are too big making everything bite-size. Staff are regularly walking down the isle, so they are keeping an eye out for you regarding refills or grill changes. Sometimes the location might get busy, and staff might not be as attentive, but you can flag them down for anything.Ventilation was on-and-off here. Since you're cooking meat, there will be plenty of smoke, so check out the ventilation. If it doesn't seem to work properly, just ask to move tables. Aside from that, I would recommend this place to anyone that just wants a good kbbq experience.

One of the good places for to-go Korean BBQ! I'm a big fan of Korean BBQ, and my husband and I have visited many different KBBQ restaurants (my husband loves trying new places). Sometimes we feel like we've wasted money or leave unsatisfied, but this place leaves you feeling good overall.

came here because we were craving Korean barbecue and not looking for all you can eat type. they have a good selections of combos, and it comes in a very generous portion. What disappoints me was the steam egg and corn cheese are not refillable. Their meat quality is awesome, don't get me wrong, although the ribeye is a little thin for me. Service is good and friendly. Parking is valet $3.Their vibe is welcoming as well.

Located in a popular 8th Street shopping center in Koreatown Magal is a solid non-AYCE KBBQ restaurant. There is Valet parking in the rear which is a positive in the hard to park neighborhood. However, since there is a row of restaurants in the shopping center the lot fills up quickly. The menu promotes BBQ meat combos which include Banchans, corn, stews, and egg. We ordered the beef and pork combo 4 and there was plenty of food for four people. Service was good as they did the grilling. Magal is loud and is popular for young drinkers, coupled with the smokey atmosphere it's a very casual vibe. Lots of soju and beer flowing throughout.

HELLA good side/banchan dishes and great service! Came here on a Monday night with two other friends.. we actually came to this plaza to try the restaurant next door but when we saw KBBQ, we just couldn't resist and came in here instead. We definitely did not regret it though because we discovered the black sesame salad! The dressing on that salad was so unique and a great subtle delicious taste of black sesame. We kept asking our server what were the ingredients in there so we can recreate it at home but he kept telling us only two ingredients and the rest of it was a secret.. but eventually we looked it up and confirmed with him.We opted for the combo option which was about $125 for a group of 3 people and a side order of spicy cold noodles. The meats were basic and decent at best but I think the main highlight goes to the banchan side dishes. Salad was good, the chopped onions, radishes, fish cake, macaroni, cucumber, broccoli - all were oh so good! The kimchi is the only one that I wasn't too fond of because it tasted way too fermented (to the point where it had this sour after taste). The rice paper was also just okay.. a bit stale and didn't taste too fresh. The grill also comes with a side of corn and egg (super awesome and good). The meats just became a side because the cuts were a bit basic but I would def come back and recommend this place for the side dishes. Spicy cold noodle was pretty good! I'm just okay about cold noodles but my friend loves it! Lastly, shout out to Mark for such great service and putting up with all of our questions and refills on the yummy banchan! Plenty of parking in the back parking lot or metered parking near the building (free after 6pm on weekdays?).

We ordered the Magal special combo and got a lot of meat: pork belly, pork jawl, brisket, marinated galbi, steak with soy bean soup and other side dishes. However, their meat was not seasoned properly and the fire grill was weak so the meat was all pretty soggy. The service was good even with only two servers with the whole restaurant. The ambiance was for meet ups with friends, coworkers or family. I personally would not come back here again because the meat quality was not impressive compare to other kbbq spots. The price for the premium quality was around $120 including tips. I don't feel satisfied with this kind of pricing for this kind of meat quality.

Good portion and friendly service! The meat quality was good and it was enough to share with 3 friends, we also ordered a cold noodle and beef tongue and we were STUFFED! Compared to the meat combo quality, the beef tongue was on the not-impressed side.... The beef sushi was Delicious and highly recommended!

Heaven on 8th street. The images speak for themselves. One of the best in Los Angeles. If you go on a Wednesday night, it's not as busy as makes for a perfect date night. Delicious!

I've been to a few Korean BBQ places in my life but this experience was a bit different. Our server cooked and cut most of our food perfectly for us. The meat quality here was wonderful, so tender. Pretty flavorful as well.Staff was nice for the most part but whenever we asked for anything, they seemed like they were bothered by us. Weren't the most friendliest of people.

Visited on a Friday night. Upon arrival they had a few tables but got pretty busy when we were leaving. The quality of food was excellent. We did a combo 3 and ordered the corn pancake and the volcano rice (they told us to tell them when we are ready for the rice. They serve it at the end) The disappointing part was that when we were ready for the rice, they told us they didn't have the rice! The service in general was okay, not great. They do cook the meat for you at table side though. One other notable thing is that they have stools that you can open and store you jackets and purses so they don't smell and get splattered on.
