Madela Pizza Pasta

Went here when they first opened with a couple other friends- we split 2 pizzas and a pasta and everything was delicious- really impressed with the unique flavors. Last week I ordered the fall creamy pumpkin pasta and it was delicious. As someone who didn't used to keep kosher this is the first time since keeping kosher that I've had any kind of pumpkin type of pasta. I really hope they do keep it permanently!

I was shocked to come here to find a pizza and pasta shop that does not serve meat or cheese. And to my surprise, it's not vegan either. It's a strict kosher restaurant, that is great for Orthodox Jews, not for the vast majority of us. I'm giving them two stars instead of one, because the staff was nice and apologetic. But that's a crazy bad business plan! If you're going to do a Jewish focused pizza shop that is not really a pizza shop, the Pico area seems a perfect place for it. Here, there is only one congregation/school nearby. Also, the interior of the restaurant area smelled heavily of natural gas. As I always try to guide LA restaurant owners, to keep your restaurant around, you need to be smart about your business plan and offerings. Niche restaurants have a super high closer rate in the city. There's enough failed and empty storefronts around town that restauranteurs should get it by now.

Super friendly and helpful staff! Also probably some of the best pizza and pasta i've ever had :)(also would suggest a self serve water station!)

I'm neither kosher, nor vegan, nor vegetarian, I just love food. The pastas here are delicious and reasonably priced. I really like the kiosks for ordering and you can customize your meal to your hearts desire. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. One day I will have to try the pizzas. So far, every pasta dish has been a hit.

Had takeout from Madela and was so intrigued by the sweet potato pizza that I had to try it. It was delicious. Crust had a crispy exterior, yet was still delightfully chewy. And so much cheese! If I had one critique, I think there could have been a heavier drizzle of the hot honey. But still an absolutely delicious lunch!

We had the Fungi Pizza and the Mushroom Melody Salad. In addition to being super friendly every time we visit (this evening, despite an overflowing crowd), one of the things they do well here are the sauces and dressings. Unusual and delicious).

My sister and I ordered from them last night and it was delicious! We were recommended the super alfredo pasta and it did not disappoint. It was so good that I'm here today with my brother for more! We also ordered a delicious regular pizza last night and a margarita today. Being Italian, I can confirm their food tastes authentic!

New visitor in this area. Ordered first time - Caesar Salad and a pizza. Salad was EXCELLENT! If you're a Chef you know a good Caesar... vs. $20 versions on Melrose that pale in comparison to this boutique establishment. Subsequently ordered 2 more times via DoorDash (which is the fastest delivery in LA BTW) and quality has been sooooooo good! Oh- and twice in the same night. Eggplant pizza!!!! Only thing is I paid $3 to add olives and got 8 measly slices. If they don't notice repeat customers AND get cheap with toppings... won't be back.

Yall. The rizo pizza is legit my new fave pizza. Savory with a little touch of sweetness. Also super cheesy. They also have a few different options for the seasonings. I'm not vegetarian or vegan but I am gluten free and they do have vegan and gf options on both pizza and pasta. Came here mid day on impulse cuz I was the park across the street. So glad I did cuz it's bomb affff. Small menu which is a good sign. Decent prices for pizza anyway. Can't wait to come back to try the rest

This place is straight fire! Never thought a fast casual pizza pasta place can be so good. The pizza here is comparable to Mozza, Milo & Olive, Pizzana and other high end Neapolitan style pizza you would get at a high end restaurant. Sorry Nancy, you are now second place in the crust game. The dough was out of this world. First the vibes.. instantly transported to Mykonos. The service is perfect and the ordering system is very straight forward. I also thought the pricing was very fair. My favorite pizza was the Miso and my favorite pasta was the Black Forest. Unique, quality and satisfying. Truly one of the best places I've tried this year.
