M & M Soul Food

One of my ole favorites when I lived in the LA area and still doesn't disappoint. The service and food is even better. Great flavor and large portions. Will definitely be back

First off, no restaurant is above offering good customer service. Me and my guest had to seat ourselves. Then once we sat down it took 15 minutes to be acknowledged--mind you were the only customers in the restaurant at the time. Then the waitress brings out 4 BURNT cornbread muffins. We asked for two cups of water and never were asked if we needed a refill or anything else, just a waitress that walks away.Second, the food is trash. My food was room temperature, I had to request my food be heated at warmer temperature (obviously not fresh) and to add injury to insult my order was incorrect.I almost was going to jump across the table.Horrendous customer service. Average taste of food. Restrooms are disgusting. No deals on price,

Best soul food in southbay area. I love their oxtails and braised short ribs. all their sides are so tasty. My kids fight over the mac and cheese. Portions are large and usually two or 3 entrees will feed my family of 5. 3 growing boys can eat but the portions are really big. Wish there was one in my hood but carson isn't that far away when the craving hits.

Worst service ever! Came here with a large party, ordered food at the register before other orders were taken. We waited and waited while the rest of our party enjoyed their food. I asked the waitress to find out about my food. She snickered and kept walking....no response. I requested a refund. The owner chased down the person that was with me to give her her food while walking right past me. I could and would NEVER support a person or business that does business like that. I hope yall have a better experience. One waitress attitude bad and the owner attitude is bad. Owner yelled at the cashier after refunding my money. The only plus was the cashier and other waitress was polite and more apologetic that we hadn't gotten our food than the owner.

Location is great: right off the 91fwy (main or Avalon), located next to UPS.Overall the customer service and the food is mid, consistently.The cabbage is very tuff and something is missing in all the sides!! The fried fish has a good flavor and nice and crispy.

I've been ordering food from this place since I was a kid, they've moved locations a couple times but it's always delicious. Recently, I ordered from them on uber eats and there was a mistake with my order, the woman on the phone was so kind, and she fixed the issue and sent the order our way. Appreciate the staff.

Ordered takeout here, food was 9/10 in taste and 10/10 in portions. $25 for what basically serves two people. Hell I'm full right now typing this review lol. The catfish was SO crunchy, loved it but was a little salty, and the sides were great as well. Cornbread dressing was an 11/10, so much flavor and great texture! Mac and cheese looked dry at first but once I dug in and took a bite I was really surprised with how cheesy and well seasoned it was. Cornbread was good, baked fresh, nice and moist, and mashed potatoes kind of tasted like they were previously frozen? Kinda lacked flavor but the gravy definitely carried.Service was okay, they were slightly inattentive when I wanted to ask a question and when I was ready to order the guy wasn't listening to me at first, but they weren't necessarily sassy or rude. Wish they showed more interest as another review suggested.Even though I didn't dine in it seemed like a very cozy place for locals, lots of bustling convo, even different tables were talking to each other. They all seemed really happy.I do understand the 3 star rating this place has, it seems like there are a lot of inconsistencies from what I read before coming here so I was a little worried, but thankfully I had a great experience. Would come back to try their oxtails!

My opinion, My Review, IJS.....Omgg I thought the soul food train had moved on since I haven't had great soul food in a while. To my surprise everything was soooo delicious. It was a plate for two, so of course I'm taking some home. If you're in the city of Carson and looking for great food and good service stop by for the Tuesday deal . IJS..The boom.com

Very upset at the service. Poor poor quality. Constant wrong orders and very poor quality of food when being delivered just don't think I'll ever give it a try again . It's been to many disappointments
