Food - The bread and escargot were good. The steak and assorted seafood was average. The french fries were good. The banana dessert was not good. Service- not good. Having to ask for water multiple times at a restaurant charging over $100 ahead is pretty ridiculous. The meal was not coursed out correctly. Almost everything the waitress said she didn't follow through with almost became funny. Almost.Waiting for my car at valet I spoke to another gentleman who just came out of the restaurant and asked him what he thought of the restaurant and he said average and I asked him if he would come back and he said no and I said same here. All that glitters isn't gold. It's a nice restaurant, but I only go to restaurants for good food.

French onion soup was delicious. The French baguette was amazing. The chicken was so tender. The steak was not cooked correctly, very rare for asking for medium, flavor was good. Service was great.

This could easily have been a 5 star rated experience but the customer service was horrible. I attended the Al Sharpton Birthday celebration at the Fairmont and decided to visit afterwards. Lumiere was highly recommended by some I knew. I sat at the bar, ordered a manhattan to start, well made. To eat, decided on the steak frites, amazing, the meat was perfect temperature and crispy fries. After finishing up, I waited and waited and waited...about 30 minutes. The barmaid never came back. I was interested in having another cocktail but decided to leave based on the time. The barmaid was having a conversation with whom appeared to be a manager in a suit. I literally had to walk over to them and let her know I had been ready to check out. It was obviously a tense conversation taking place between them but that was not the appropriate time with customers waiting. The atmosphere was calm, low dim lighting and not a huge crowd. The food was great but the bar service was not up to par

I wish there were half stars cause this place is a solid 3.5. The service was meh. Considering it was a Friday night and there were literally 3/4 tables and like 4/5 waiters it was a little frustrating that we didn't even get served waters. They had like zero selection of oysters. For a restaurant of this caliber I was shocked that on a Friday night they only had Fanny Bay oysters and not kushi or Kumamoto ... The steak frites was literally burned on the outside and tasted like charcoal although they were able to get a nice pink in the middle. It had crab meat on top which I almost think now they were hiding the burned top. I could tell it was good cut of meat but they ruined it. The shrimp on ice was also whatever, kind of hard to ruin shrimp but we didn't finish that or the steak. What was good ? The French fries , the escargot and the French onion soup were all great. Other than that I was pretty disappointed in the steak frites $55 and we added the crab $25 which I expected crab legs but got chopped up crabs on top of the steak. I didn't penalize for that but was not excited to see the steak served that way. The espresso martini was also good. I would come back to try their bread and pastries but as far as steak house goes. I'll pass.

I initially walked into Lumière seeking nice atmosphere and a glass of red, but I enjoyed my experience so much in the first 30 minutes, I decided this was my official dinner destination.Arrived at the Fairmont Century Plaza around 8pm and walked straight into Lumiere. I've been here before on the back patio for an event a few months back, but I wanted to experience the beautiful interior. And beautiful it was. Low lighting, gold, green and cream decor. It was definitely a treat for the senses for a girly girl like me. After taking a seat at the bar and a couple of sips of my Cabernet, I perused the menu and my eyes could not stop veering at the steak frites. I'm a girl who loves a good steak and I couldn't handle it anymore! I had to have it...and I made such a wonderful choice. It was a perfectly medium rare filet with a beautiful herbed butter on top and deliciously crispy french fries. I was in love! I may have to stand outside this meal's house with a boombox and profess my love in the rain. It was incredible. To top it off, the customer service was great! The hostess was incredibly kind when I arrived and my waiter was awesome! Super attentive and great!Awesome experience at Lumiere! Its definitely pricey, but worth it! You're gonna be well taken care of and have a great meal. I'll be back, but likely with a date. its definitely an environment made for lovers.

Had a lovely brunch here for Easter - it's a La carte which is different than the usual Easter brunches we have gone too but the food was great - we had shrimp w grits special. My parents loved the salmon and the country fried steak. The pasta for the kids is fresh so it does take longer. The ambience is great as they had live music and the spot is so pretty all wicker chairs and lush green.

It started with the valet parking attendant being annoyed. The table was set in the middle of the hallway, they weren't able to get us a different table even though the restaurant was empty. They were out of multiple menu options. The FOOD WAS HORRIBLE, $60 for a completely inedible piece of halibut. AIRPLANE FOOD. I have rarely been so upset and disappointed eating out. I'm still in shock of how bad of a dinner this was. Our waitress was nice, but that was the only thing that wasn't disappointing. If you can help it, do not eat here. They didn't even validate the valet.

Dining at Lumière was an absolute dream, especially as someone with severe food allergies. This was, without a doubt, the most allergy-friendly restaurant I have ever been to. From the moment we sat down, our server, Staci, went above and beyond to make sure I felt safe and taken care of. Staci personally memorized all of my allergies (which is no small feat!) and was incredibly attentive throughout our meal. What truly set this experience apart was when the kitchen accidentally included an ingredient I couldn't have--before we even noticed, Staci rushed over to our table to stop us from eating it. Their quick action and care made all the difference, and I felt completely at ease knowing how seriously they take food safety.Beyond the exceptional service, the food was absolutely phenomenal, with beautifully crafted dishes that showcased both flavor and artistry (everyone needs to experience the french onion soup at least once.) Lumière has set a new gold standard for dining out with allergies, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you have dietary restrictions but still want an unforgettable fine dining experience, this is the place to go!We will definitely be back!

Food was very heavy. Got the croque madame, too much ham and cheese. Hurt my stomach. Breakfast should be served when its still morning, it shouldn't end before noon.
