1st timer here. Came in to take in some of Hollywoods iconic history from the movie Blood In Blood Out and enjoy some food. I ordered the burrito de buche and it does not disappoint! The tortillas are made fresh! The burrito tasted fresh and the price for the quality and quantity of the burrito is a steal! Parking can get a little tricky as there is only a limited amount of space.

Finally got to eat here, and damn I wish I'd stopped by sooner! This place shot straight into my top three best tacos in Los Angeles County. Located in Boyle Heights, a neighborhood rich with Latin culture, you can expect nothing less than authentic flavors.Parking is limited, and yes, there's a line, but it moves fast. Unlike some spots, they serve your tacos fully dressed with toppings, so no need for a self-serve bar. The friendly tattooed cashier greeted us with a smile, setting the tone for a great experience. We ordered tacos and chicharrones. The chicharrones were perfectly crunchy, fatty, and flavorful, exactly how they should be. The tacos were mouthwatering, with exceptional handmade tortillas that are crafted fresh daily. The salsas packed a solid kick, adding just the right amount of heat.I wasn't expecting the $0.85 upcharge for guacamole, but honestly, it was worth every penny. There's seating both inside and on the sidewalk if you want to sit and savor.Overall: Authentic, flavorful, and absolutely worth the hype. Don't sleep on this spot!

My family has been coming here for over two decades. After leaving Los Angeles for 13 years and coming back, the responsibility of picking up ingredients for tamales has fallen on me.Growing up, we didn't have the money to try all of the food that they offered so I now indulge in buying MASA from here and also all of their yummy handmade food and tortillas. My personal favorite is getting anything with their shredded beef. It's so tender and soft and perfectly flavored. If you are going to be buying ingredients for tamales during holiday season, you definitely need to bring a container or a small bucket as they do not sell the ingredients in bags anymore due to high volume/demand.

I visited Los Cinco Puntos on Christmas Day at 9:30am. It was packed with families getting ready for Christmas buying everything from Menudo to Carnitas, tamales, chicarron, fresh tortillas, etc. I however wanted just two items:Pork Tamale: This was a solid tamale to my knowledge. I'm not an expert, but I feel like every tamale ever created needs some sauce or salsa. Still decent.Carnitas Burrito: this burrito was huge. Took me a while to finish it. What stood out was the fresh tortilla and the delicious carnitas. Really solid gut busting burrito. The service was extremely friendly and they made me feel welcome. If I could spend my Christmas anywhere, it would be with the family owned and operated business in Los Angeles. Plus I'm a fan of the cult classic filmed here, Blood In Blood Out. Vatos Locos and Los Cinco Puntos FOREVER!

So many delicious things here. Mini market with a full food counter. The barbacoa is so delicious!!!! Small area to sit indoors with a few tables outside. Staff is helpful and gave us samples of a few meats (we took a taco of each). Famous for their hand made tortillas and the store's cameo in Blood In Blood Out. What a good place to fill up on good food.

Carnitas and Chicharrones are the most popular protein choices according to what I see via Yelp. I really enjoyed the lengua, which is usually my choice of taco protein. $4 tacos seem like alot but for better meat, flavor and fresh tortilla...its worth it. The handmade tortilla really got me interested in this place. There's tons of street tacos with great meat, flavor and condiment mix, but very few with handmade tortillas. Probably why we love Azteca too. But I've only eaten burritos from there and that tortilla was more like the Taiwanese beef wrap type. Los Cinco Puntos was thicker but not extremely dense heavy. I visited on a Friday night just 20 minutes before they close. There are 3 cashier areas. There was 2 customers ahead of me. There was 1-2 staff handling us. It took long due to those customers ordering cooked meat by lb/meat market. Most of the meat were put away and the place looked like it's closing up. You may want to buy extra sauce/salsa!! I got cactus or some other condiment and verde alsa on my taco when picking out of the window of condiments. But it was not enough. Funny because I noted to myself to buy extra salsa cup but forgot. They of course we're out of the weekend only served menudo. Chicharrones was very crunchy, smaller bite size vs overly large like other places. SO liked it. I'm just not a fan of chicharrones in my taco. I'm a lengua person instead.

What I Ordered:-Yelp Check-In Special :2 Chicharron Tacos with a Coke $9.59 Los Cinco Puntos has quite the reputation for having great tacos. They are well-known for making their tortillas fresh as you can see in the picture. I ordered the check-in special on Yelp. You get 2 tacos and a 20 oz bottle of coke for $9.59. I opted to have guacamole on the tacos for a surcharge. I will save I thought they would charge 1 dollar total for the guacamole not $.85 for each taco. That's a bit of a ripe off in my personal opinion. I thought the tacos were good and I really like Chicharron, but it seem a bit burnt. I would say they were good, but not great tacos. I would come back, but I'm not in a rush to come back as there's many other taco places in the area.

If you love freshly made thick corn tortilla, this is the spot for you. You can see the lady cooking them in the back. They have their own parking lot. There are a few tables along side the sidewalk if you need to sit down and quickly eat.Not my favorite type of tacos, other people are raving about them but I can understand why. There isn't additional salsa provided and you will need to purchase more which we didn't realize until after the fact, tacos felt really dry. They ask if you want all the fixings on top or some on the side. We opted for the pickled cactus on the side and everything else on top, I'm glad we did. Pickled cactus had some grainy skin texture which I wasn't use to. Don't forget to grab some pickled jalapeños, it will add some moisture back into your tacos. Asada- is a little on the tougher side, not as flavorful as I prefer. Carnitas- not much of a char to it, not enough flavor. Lengua- extremely tender! One of the best I've had.Quesadilla (with pollo)- tasted like something I could make at home. I wouldn't order this again, no wow factor.

Los Cinco Puntos came on my radar when I saw Joseph A.'s photos of their chicharron tacos and knew I wanted to try it as soon as possible. My boyfriend spoils me so he took me that weekend. Coke is clearly a mega sponsor of some sort cause they have Coke tables, coke logo on their menu. There were about outdoor tables in the front and another 3 small tables inside, but it's super hot and stuffy inside. While waiting in line I really appreciated how they were making fresh tortillas for the tacos. They have a Yelp check-in that is $9.59 for 2 tacos and a 20oz Coke. Unfortunately by the time we got there, they were out of chicharrons. Since we were already there, we both opted for the Carnitas. While the lady was piling on toppings. My boyfriend wanted onions only, no cilantro. And I wanted cilantro only, no onions. She didn't get it and put both on one taco. Sigh. You know these things are so chopped up, trying to remove it doesn't get it all out. I also got a Horchata ($2.99). We ate the tacos there to enjoy it fresh but I didn't like the carnitas at all. It was lacking the fat ratio and the soft far apartness I like in carnitas. I also felt like it was dry, but I really appreciated the special housemade tortilla. I really need to come back and try the chicharron taco. The horchata was also super authentic and tasty. Yum!

Wow. A friend recommended this spot and it did not disappoint! We ordered tacos with a mix of carnitas and chicharrones, topped with chopped cilantro and onions and drizzled with salsa (mild for me and spicier for the bf). The tortillas are handmade, fresh off the stove and one of the fluffiest we've ever had. The carnitas was super tender and the crispiness and flavor of the chicharrones was an excellent pairing. The tacos are quite hefty here, both from the thicker tortilla and because they pack on the meat and toppings, so 2-3 tacos is more than enough. For parking there is a small private lot that fills up fast but people trickle in and out if you're willing to wait. There is also street parking available - we've never had trouble finding parking. If you want to eat there, they have a few tables inside and 4-5 covered tables outside. Overall we've been enjoying this spot and always can't wait to come back!
