As someone who's spent a lifetime dissecting flavors, textures, and execution, I have to say--when you dine in at Little Fatty, it's a home run. The flavors are bold yet balanced, the dishes feel well-composed, and there's a certain energy to eating in the space that just works. Service? Spot-on. Food quality? Absolutely holds up.But here's the thing--Asian food doesn't always travel well, and Little Fatty is no exception. There's something about the delicate crispness of a dumpling, the chew of a noodle, or the perfect sauce-to-protein ratio that can get lost in transit. It's not a knock on them--it's just the reality of takeout. So, if you want to experience what makes this place special? Go in person. Sit down, take in the flavors, and enjoy it as it was meant to be served.

Boyfriend and I went here on a Wednesday night, lured by all the five star reviews. I'm sorry to say that our experience did not merit five stars, in my opinion. We had to sit at the bar, which right off the bat was not great. However, our bartender, Paulette, was fun and personable, so that helped a lot. We took our time perusing the menu and ultimately decided on the scallion pancakes for an appetizer, and two orders of the XO Fatty Noodles for our entrées.Perhaps we should've chosen differently, something with more protein. The scallion pancakes were very dry and hard, and if not for the accompanying dipping sauce would have been practically tasteless. The noodles were not at all what I expected. They were very thick chow fun noodles rolled up into a cigar shape, and tasted faintly of seafood. There wasn't much else to the dish, besides bean sprouts, and a ton of garlic. When I inquired with the bartender, I learned that the noodles had indeed been cooked in a seafood broth, but there was no actual seafood in the dish. I also learned that that's how the restaurant got its name, because of the fat noodles. In spite of the education, I didn't really enjoy my dish very much.We might come back, but we would definitely order something different. And it would be nice to actually sit at a table.

Name - Chef David Kuo's childhood nickname was xiǎo pàng, or little fatty. I'm sure his family meant it in an endearing way! Location - Near Venice Blvd and Grand View Blvd. He closed his first restaurant (Status Kuo), expanded into the neighboring space, and opened Accomplice Bar alongside his new restaurant. The nearby streets have meters (read all signs), with free spots as you move farther into the residential areas. There's also a parking lot at the Mar Vista post office. Atmosphere - Dim lighting, lively crowd. Reservations are recommended even on weekdays. Walk-ins available if space permits. There's usually seats open at the bar or one of the tables outside. Menu - Mostly Taiwanese and Chinese fare, with a good amount of entrees and noodle/rice dishes. A handful of options are gluten free. Some menu items have a V next to the dish, but I didn't ask if that meant vegan or vegetarian. And they have various cocktails, beers, wines, IPA, etc. 20% gratuity for parties 5 or more.Food - I only had a few light bites because I had dinner plans later in the evening. The vegetarian/vegan egg roll appetizer was crunchy, with a simple cabbage, carrot, and onion filling. The vegetarian/vegan scallion pancake was generous with the scallions. Texture wise, it could have been a bit more crisp. My friend enjoyed their drinks (Taiwan Beer and Maryberry IPA). Verdict - Fun place for a casual date night or for grabbing drinks

Place has great mixed drinks and the happy hour pricing is good. I didn't have a reservation so sat out front but it was ok because there was a heat lamp. The food was great. Had a tofu dish and beef chow fun. All had very good flavor. Definitely a good spot for Chinese food. If I had one comment, it was the food came out too fast. I barely had time to enjoy the mixed drink and the food was out and I had to eat it because it was going to get cold. So, if you go, I would order the food after having a mixed drink.

Charming spot with chill vibes, serving Taiwanese food, great for a date or catch up with friends. The service here is great, last I went Jason was my bartender and he's incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and skilled at making drinks. My favorite of the night was an apple martini. The XO fatty noodles are always a must, delicious & full of flavor. Parking can get a bit tricky depending on when you go. There's parking in the neighborhood a bit away or there's street meter parking.

Upscale modern Taiwanese inspired restaurant but make it casual with a bar. Nice vibes for a date night or meal out with friends. Service was great, our server constantly checked in on us and refilled our water, even though we had our own bottle at the table. Parking - street only with meters or free 1 hour parking until 8pm. The variety of cocktails and traditional family style dishes is a selling point here. I didn't care for their Chow Fun, I prefer more noodles to meat and veggies ratio and their Orange Chicken was fresh and crunchy, but not very tangy. Overall food came quick, service was good, maybe would come back to try more of their dishes and cocktails!

This spot perfectly captures casual LA vibes with a lively, buzzing atmosphere and excellent service. The creative drinks are a standout, adding a unique touch to the experience. The food? Incredible. Highlights include the refreshing cucumbers, flavorful dumplings, tender orange chicken, savory pork bao, and the indulgently rich So Fatty Noodles. Each dish is packed with bold, balanced flavors, making it hard to pick a favorite. It's best to come with a small group so you can try a bit of everything--sharing is highly encouraged here. Definitely a place to revisit for good times and even better food.

I've ordered from Little Fatty a few times; I have only eaten there once and it was a while ago so can't really speak on the service (not memorable in a good or bad way).I will say - the food is very solid! The ambience is very cute & is a cute dinner date with partners and friends. Also, they sometimes have their main dishes as BOGO on Uber Eats which is a steal!Garlic Noodle: 8.9/10 soooo fire!!! so flavorful, texture of noodles are great, will def order againWonton: 8.7/10 delicious! so flavorful and good amount of fillingWalnut Shrimp: 8.5 also very good!! Good amount of breading and not too much. Shrimps are large; perfect amount of sweetnessMapo Tofu: 7.5/10 tasted very authentic (of note, it is spicier and has Sichuan flavor which is very different from Japanese mapo tofu, just an fyi for those who haven't tried different mapo tofu varieties); if anyone doesn't usually like mushroom (like me lol), I couldn't taste it at all; very generous portion when ordered take outDumplings: 7.5/10 also generous with filling; despite getting this to go, it was still very crispy on the outsideOrange Chicken: 3/10 (FOR NOW) I have had the Orange Chicken other times and do not remember being this way so I'm not sure if we got a bad batch or if they changed their quality in the past 6 months. But the batch we got was quite bad. The flavor was the same (not too sweet and not too spicy). However, there was like no actual chicken inside. Most of the pieces were so small (like quarter size) and the few that were chicken nugget size were still so heavily breaded that we barely tasted the chicken and the chicken was so dry and stringy. It was super disappointing since I don't remember it being like that when I ordered before.
