Library Bar

If I could give this bar 10 stars, I would! My husband and I found this spot nestled in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and decided the ambiance looked cute so we should give it a try. Once inside, we were blown away by the service and the quality of the drinks. This bar does not offer a typical menu but is more of a mixology style. That said, the bartender made clear that if we wanted a typical cocktail (martini, vodka soda, old fashioned, etc.), he could certainly accommodate. We, of course, opted for the mixology option and the bartender (Thomas) asked us what liquors and flavor profiles we liked. My husband opted for gin or whisky with herby, citrusy, or fruity. I opted for vodka with spicy, herby, or fruity. We got 2 drinks each and enjoyed all of them! My favorite was a drink with sriracha that was fruity and spicy at the same time - like nothing I've ever had but I'm still dreaming of it! The drinks are understandably pricey (I think about $25 per drink) but compared to average tasting $15-20 drinks you can find elsewhere in LA, the slightly higher price was so worth it! I highly recommend checking out Library Bar if you're in Hollywood and looking for an elevated cocktail experience!

Just wanted to say that Michael, the bartender here, is without a doubt the best bartender I've ever encountered. Not to mention, he was super nice and accommodating to my friend and I. Don't get me wrong, I've met bartenders / mixologists who are really good and amazing at what they do, but this guy is on another level; he's so committed to his craft, and the amount of attention to detail is astounding. You will never find a bartender like him, nor will you ever have a drink like this guy can give you. He asked me what kind of dessert I like, so I said cheesecake, and then I also mentioned that I love peaches. so this guy whips out a jar of fermented peaches and made me a peach/cheesecake flavored drink. Without a doubt the best drink I've ever had in my life.Do yourself a favor and go try a drink at this place; the bartender's name is Michael.

I wandered into this place to kill a little time before a show expecting to get my typical go to- Scotch, neat. Then I see this guy whipping up a cocktail for someone with great intensity. He changed my mind before we even made eye contact. The bartender/mixologist Michael is a genius. The bespoke cocktail he made me was probably the best cocktail I've ever had. I'm dead serious. Show's over, it's just after midnight, just got home, and felt like I needed to give this guy some props before I went to sleep. I highly recommend a visit or two to this tiny, cool, little speakeasy of a bar. This is the way it should be done. Someone meet me here for a drink. You'll see what I mean.

Bespoke cocktails in a gorgeous space just off of the Hollywood Roosevelt's grand lobby. Thomas is the mixologist who guided our party of four last night on our journey. Not only is he a gifted drink master, he is the consummate host, taking the time to get a sense of what each of us liked and then taking those profiles to craft cocktails for each of us. We are a discerning group, and we were not disappointed. The Library Bar is a Hollywood gem!

Says temp closed but it's a LIE!!!!! Bar is open~ Kelly and Thomas are artists. Actual and legitimate cocktail artists. You will not be disappointed- the word is your perfect cocktail, at your request. Thank you both, genuinely, for an amazing evening and absolutely beautiful artisanal cocktails.

Michael is by far the most talented bartender we have encountered. His art in cocktail was incomparable, every drink was tailor-made and one of a kind! What an amazing evening.

Talk about a Hollywood gem! Had a profound time at the library speakeasy in the Hollywood Roosevelt! The Hollywood Roosevelt has and always will have a very special place in my heart. When I first visited Los Angeles back in 2021 before moving here, I spent my very first night at this hotel. I was thrilled to hear about the library reopening. I can tell this is going to be my new spot. The bartender Michael went above and beyond. I could feel that he truly make a great effort to make every single guest feel welcomed and like family. The drinks were absolutely incredible. I tried to stop at two, but I kept having more! I just had such a wonderful time and didn't want to leave. That in my opinion is what truly defines a special experience. Can't wait to come back! I'm so grateful that I live so close to this very special gem!

If you ever come when Thomas is here you are in treat! He is the best mixologist I have met. Customer service is above anything I have encountered. Great guy!!!

Excellent hidden space in the Roosevelt hotel, having just reopened in March of 2024.Michael is an excellent bartender and showman, crafting each drink to your palette in a visually engaging way.Highly recommend sitting at the bar, rather than lounge, for a more intimate atmosphere and conversation, with a much more fiery visual experience.One of the best places for a drink in Hollywood, with top tier experience, vibe, and quality.

The Library Bar experience was one of the best I've had in a long time! My Fiancé and I were in LA this last weekend celebrating our anniversary, and some friends recommended we check out The Hollywood Roosevelt. We found the Library Bar shortly after they had opened and ended up staying for over 2.5 hours! Michael, Anthony, and Luke were our bartenders for the night, and they truly made the experience what it was. We talked to them about the kinds of spirits and drinks we like, and everything they created for us was phenomenal. They even graciously walked us through other drinks they were making and talked to us about the process of creating the drinks they do. I couldn't recommend it more highly, especially if you enjoy being able to try new and unique cocktails that you might not have the chance to try anywhere else. I can't wait for us to go back, and for Library Bar to start gaining the popularity it deserves!
