An unexpected surprise experience with my friends's and I, after having gone to The Pantages. The ground floor restaurant was booked, but the doorman recommended Lemon Grove, on the rooftop patio - what a treat! The walkway is lined with citrus trees. There's an herb garden, large patio areas, and indoor seating. The Hollywood Sign and City views are a highlight!! And the menu - eclectic, and well worth it! We had the BREAD & BUTTER Sourdough, salted butter; then the CHICKEN LIVER & ONION RINGS Crispy onion rings, toasted pumpkin seeds, marmalade: MISO HONEY GRILLED SALMONFennel & brown emulsion, roasted rainbow carrots, dukkah, pomegranate seeds, fronds; SHORT RIB RIGATONI PASTA Al pastor braised short ribs, fresh rigatoni pasta, lime cream, cotija cheese, micro cilantro; SPICY TUNA TARTARE Cucumber, tempura, avocado, soy caramel, spicy mayonnaise; LEMON GROVE CAESAR Grilled romaine, puffed wild rice, crispy onions, parmesan, Caesar dressing, grated bottarga (and anchovies). What made the experience even better, were the Waiter - Sean, and the Manager - Brance! Thank you both! And to the Hostess and the rest of the staff! Looking forward to going back!

Have been here twice and loved it for the gorgeous bathrooms, amazing view and nice menu options for brunch!I will say this definitely is a more brunchy place instead of dinner. Parking is valet only, $30 which is kind of absurd. Have ordered the salad with salmon, omelette with potatoes, eggs Benedict, French fries, cinnamon roll and banana cake. The best options would have to be their omelette and banana cake. Salmon for an extra $18 is kind of crazy. Their bar inside is super pretty but each time I have interacted with the bar tender he gave weird vibes. Kind of slow and never has understood what I wanted to order...I had purposely called ahead to ask if there was any mocha coffee and the lady went and checked. She had stated yes they just got it that day so my bf and I went just to go have coffee only to be told that "we don't have syrups for coffee". This made me actually laugh because tell me why when I walked to the bathroom I saw into the kitchen and there were stacks of toreni syrups...

We were unexpectedly in the area, and originally planned on trying to get into a nearby Italian restaurant. When we couldn't get in, the hostess suggested Lemon Grove and we are SO glad she did. The views were incredible, but even more so the details of the restaurant were lovely. From the textiles to the lighting and stunning collection of live plants, fruit trees, and roof top herb garden we felt transported from the streets of Hollywood as soon as we stepped off onto the 6th floor. Do NOT pass on the sourdough bread with salted butter. Literally the best bread we've had at any restaurant in SoCal. Our table ordered the miso glazed salmon, cacio e pepe, lemon pasta, and short rib rigatoni and everyone absolutely loved their dish. Our server was Sean, who was so great with recommendations and was also just so warm and welcoming to our family. We also met the manager, Bill, who also made us feel right at home. Truly - the entire staff was lovely. We are thrilled to have discovered this gem for ourselves and cannot wait to be back!

Oh my gosh. That's how I'm starting this review. Lemon Grove is situated inside The Aster Hotel (6th floor). It's a beautiful rooftop garden restaurant in the heart of Hollywood. It has both inside and outdoor seating but definite sit outside if weather permits. It's a bit of a journey to get to the restaurant but t worth it. The service was excellent and the food even better. The ribeye steak and eggs were so good. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender and those fingerling potatoes were yummy. The bananas foster pancakes however blew my mind. It doesn't need syrup honestly but please have syrup - totally elevated. And the whipped cream is homemade. This is a restaurant I highly recommend and would return to.

Visited Lemon Grove for a nice dinner before heading to Pantages for a show. Lemon Grove is located on the rooftop of The Aster Hotel. It was easy to pull into valet parking and they charge $30 if you're going to the restaurant. Despite the evening being on the chilly side, the rooftop is sufficiently covered in outdoor heaters and we did not get cold. The atmosphere was very nice and is a great place to grab drinks and appetizers. Service was a little lacking unfortunately. Our reservation was made for 9 people but the table was only set for 8. We were able to squeeze the missing seat into the booth but they kept forgetting to bring an extra place setting and water glass. The waiter also only took half our orders and then forgot to finish the rest and walked off. We also had to ask for serving utensils a couple of times because they kept forgetting to bring them. As for the food, most of the appetizers/starters did not disappoint. We ordered a large variety for the table and some of my favorites included the Bougie Chips & Dip, The Aster Meatballs, and Return of the Mac N Cheese Gratin. I bougie dip was made from smoked trout and had a sushi roll taste - very unique and would recommend it if you like sushi. We also ordered The Bone Marrow as a starter which is a dish I always love. However, I felt like this dish barely had any marrow on it to be worth the price so I would skip next time along with the Shrimp Cocktail which only included 3 pieces. As for the entrees, I saw the Lemon Pasta was highly recommended by all the reviews. Sadly we didn't feel it lived up to the hype and really tasted more like a curry dish than any lemon. The Short Rib Rigatoni was definitely the better pasta and I would recommend going with that over the Lemon. Also thought the Duck Confit was pretty good and would recommend it!

First timer. Aside from the $30 parking that they don't validate, I enjoyed everything. The meatballs were amazing. Seasoned perfectly and the bread that it came with was perfect. The hummus was flavorful and los if texture. Service was friendly. Ambiance intimate and lovely.

Alright, tourist here. We came to Lemon Grove for 2 reasons. Proximity to our hotel and gluten friendly options. Courtney was our waitress. She was beyond friendly, social and attentive. The kitchen requested a review of "known" allergens along with my gluten allergy!!!My salad was light, fresh and absolutely delicious. I did however find I wanted to add salt. My husband had a smash burger with (normal) bun and fries. He devoured the burger and then recommended it to the table next to us. His critique, the potato bun had a hard time standing up to the substantial burger. This did not stop him from loving his meal. Just made it a smidge messy.

Went here for my birthday dinner and it was delightful! The ambiance was just lovely. There was a helicopter sporadically hovering over the rooftop for an event, so we opted to sit indoors but luckily it was just as beautiful inside as it was outside. The food was really good - I loved just about every dish! Crispy Brussels sprouts: This was my least favorite out of all the dishes but it was good. Fairly standard and basic. Not the biggest fan of the preserved lemon bits.Bougie chips and dip: This was delicious! The smoked trout was perfect -- smoky but not overwhelmingly fishy. The pickles, roe and chives complemented the fish and the house cooked kettle chips were the perfect dipping vessel. Bone marrow: This dish was outstanding... I just wish there was more bone marrow and more than 3 bits of sourdough bread. The onion and bacon jam was unique and very tasty - sweet and salty without being too much of either. The roasted garlic was amazing but we definitely needed one more piece of bread. Lemon pasta: I had heard mixed reviews on this dish so I was pleasantly surprised that I really enjoyed it. The pasta was cooked to my liking and the sauce was basically Tom kha, which is one of my favorite soups ever. I could definitely eat the whole thing by myself!Duck confit: Everything about this dish was just about perfect. The duck skin was crispy but the meat was tender and juicy. The carrots were a great side and loved the seasoning and yogurt/cream sauce on the bottom. The kale was tasty but slightly too salty for my taste. Banana Cake: If you're a fan of banana, you'll love this dessert! It's an elevated banana bread with Chantilly cream. Service, unfortunately, was lacking a bit when I went. Our server didn't check on us for a good portion of our time there and we had to call him over a couple of times as we waited a while for our food, even though the restaurant was fairly empty. Noticed that we weren't the only patrons having this issue.Definitely recommend this spot for some solid eats and a lovely environment!

It was a cute little ambiance and for a Saturday it wasn't overly crowded.Service was pretty good minus having to remind the server of a drink that was missed (party of 9, so understandable) Food was good, not amazing, a tad under seasoned but it was still enjoyable. Prices are average, party of 9 $450 w/ 20% auto grat. Would try again for the dinner spread.
