La Bohème is an upscale, trendy restaurant in the heart of West Hollywood. La Bohème sells itself as a modern American (mais un peu de Français) restaurant clad in decor calling back to the days of La Belle Epoque. Our group of five visited this WeHo landmark on a Monday evening. After some delectable and well priced Happy Hour drinks we started with the Wagyu Meatball ($19) and Mac & Cheese Croquettes ($16). The meatball was rich and bathed in a savory tomato sauce. The Croquettes were fair, but a touch dry and the cheese lacked the richness I would expect from an otherwise unhealthy, guilty pleasure. Following was five small easels and upon each a different work of art. We ordered five crostinis ($23) topped by mushroom, waygu, tuna, chicken tinga, and pear prosciutto, but truly I wish we could have tried them all. Each was beautiful, unique, and delectable. For our plat principal, we shared the Halibut ($36), a delicious, well cooked fish, the lamb ($30), which was savory and rested upon a plate of egg pappardelle noodles, a surprisingly effective and sizeable salad with chicken ($24), a juicy half chicken atop a bed of frites ($34), and meatball spaghetti ($28). Each of these dishes was sizeable and unique, with the Blackened Chicken Chopped Salad and Pappardelle the strongest entries.Rounding out the evening, the pastry chef blessed us with a delicious chocolate croissant bread pudding ($14) - a unique play on the classic dessert - consisting of delicate ice cream atop a flaky pastry adorned with small chocolate nibs, which itself rested upon a bed of vanilla custard. The juxtaposition of moist ice cream, flaky dry pastry, and then moist custard created a truly unique combination I have not seen before in this venerable dish. At our server's recommendation we also had the Pistachio cookies with Chantilly crème ($12), which were warm, moist, and rich. I have always been partial to dessert, but the patisserie truly spoiled us this evening. Do not skip it!Our server Heather L was affable, available, and provided excellent recommendations that reflected both the restaurant's greatest hits and her own personal favorites. She tended to our needs, offered boxes to go, and while the wait time was slightly long for a Monday evening, she tended the surprisingly busy restaurant with speed and grace. Prices are on par for a restaurant of this caliber and location, and should average at $55-$75 per person, including drinks and tip, which is reasonable. The vibes of La Bohème are part new WeHo, part old Belle Epoque, and part artsy Bohemian. The lights are dim but many, the breeze floats through the airy tables, and the firepits crackle. The restaurant is romantic, trendy, and stylish, best for a date or intimate gathering. While not haute cuisine, this restaurant is truly haute bohème. More Belle Epoque than bohemian precariat, La Bohème is an upscale class act perfect for the WeHo visitor seeking la joie de vivre.Food: 4.5/5Service: 4.5/5Ambiance: 5/5Value: 4/5

Booked brunch here for 11:00 am (when they open) and it was actually pretty slow for a Saturday morning. We were seated right away. Both the inside and outside are beautiful places to eat and the ambiance was nice. Our server Bogdan was great - he was attentive but not intrusive at all. We got a breakfast burrito, short rib hash and shared the grilled octopus. The octopus was the best dish by far! It was perfectly cooked, so flavorful and paired with cherry tomatoes, celery and micro greens for a refreshing element. The burrito was good and came with red salsa, avocado salsa, and a small side (we got fruit). The short rib hash was also delicious my only complaint was that it was so meat heavy it needed something else (more egg, more roasted veggies, etc). Overall great spot in WeHo for brunch!

I've been here twice. The first time I loved it and wanted to return. The second time I was not a huge fan.The ambiance is fun and modern, yet also romantic and laid back. It is definitely what I would call an "LA" crowd. And the food is definitely high quality, don't get me wrong, but man, it is EXPENSIVE for what it is. Not everything on the menu is outrageous, but nearly every item that is not among the likes of a sandwich or salad is. For instance, the dijon chicken with fries is in the mid-30s, and you do not even get a vegetable with that. If you want something good and a "complete"/satisifed feeling, such as the filet, be prepared to spend up to $50+ just for one, rather small-portioned entrée. For more budget-friendly items such as a burger, they lack the flavor and presentation of the more upscale items and almost feel like an afterthought.Oh, and don't forge the $25 fee if you sit inside on a weekend (live music) plus a 3% kitchen fee which they do not tell you about until you get the check. The biggest issue though is the service. When we went the other day, it took 5-10 minutes for our server to appear and bring us water. She was also not very receptive to questions and seemed to not want to be there. We started with a charcuterie board for the table, and we never got plates. Additionally, as each round of food or drink refill came out, it was brought by someone other than our server, with the staff never knowing who ordered what and hesitantly trying to place items on the table and waiting for us to correct them if they guessed wrong. Throughout what was a relatively simple meal, we only saw our server a couple times, and we were there much longer than we should have been.Look, I totally understand that service will not always be perfect and that not every item on the menu will be a showstopper, but at the pricepoint La Bohème insists on charging, they just do not fully deliver. Perhaps a splurge here would have me feeling different, but ultimately, I'm not as inclined to return as I was the first time.

A cute date night restaurant with old Hollywood vibes! I went to La Boheme for a "galantines" dinner with some girlfriends, there was live music playing and the lights were dim and sultry inside. It was raining pretty heavily and we originally had a table outside but they were able to accommodate for us indoors. (We did have to use plastic chairs instead of the big blue cushioned chairs at every other table). The bread at La Boheme was absolutely amazing if I could give it 5 stars alone I would it's perfectly soft and buttery and the top was so crispy!! I had a lychee martini which was delicious, my friend had an espresso martini that was fairly strong (not complaining!). For dinner I had the spaghetti with wagyu meatballs, the sauce was really good but the meatballs what a strange flavor and I didn't really enjoy them. My friend had the Lamb Pappardelle, but she did say that she liked my pasta better.

I would drive 100 miles for the waygu spaghetti with truffle alfredo sauce. It's something about the contrast of marinara and alfredo that does it for me!I stopped by for the amazing happy hour and had to get the spaghetti to go! Love it here!

Beautiful restaurant, the place is beautiful. The musicians they have playing are great and the singer they had that night was amazing. We went on Valentine's Day and it was really busy but I was amazed on how great the food was. They had a special menu for valentines day and we thought that was great because it takes away the pressure from the servers and cooks and it helps the service be great. I think the only thing we didn't like was the table we were seating we were uncomfortable. We did asked if we can switch but they said all the other tables were reserved. However, I will definitely recommend this restaurant to our family and friends.

The atmosphere was superb. We sat outside and even though it was chilly, the heaters kept us warm. If you like oysters. Get the oysters! Also, their happy hour offers some great deals, as well. I had the Tuna Nicoise Salad (not part of happy hour) which didn't have much flavor aside from the pieces of fish. The dressing could've been tastier. But it's a healthy option. Also, they tell you at the beginning of your meal you have to be out in an hour and a half.

Came here with a party of 12 on a Saturday and was seated immediately. They have a very decorative spacious outdoor, however, going during wintertime was super cold since there was a lack of heater around the table. Since we had a large party, the food had to be from a pre-fixe menu which consisted of three course meal. Anyways, I tried their Caesar Salad, Soup of the Day, Hamachi Sashimi, Crostini Trio, Spaghetti Pomodoro, and Grilled Hanger Steak. The Caesar Salad did not have any dressing at all. The soup of the day was a blended mushroom soup - hot but very salty. For the appetizer, Hamachi Sashimi was fresh with a mild ponzu flavor. The Crostini Trio (Smoked Salmon, Seared Filet Mignon, and Caponata) was presentable and cute, however, the bread was way too hard. For the entree, the steak was an additional $3, and it could've been better. The steak was straight up raw and very chewy. It felt like they just covered and hid all the mistakes with a pinot noir sauce and that's about it. As for the potatoes, it did not have any salt or pepper. It was very, very bland. Lastly for the Spaghetti Pomodoro, it was horrible. It tasted like it came out of a store-bought Ragu tomato sauce. It didn't even have any meat or anything, just all carbs and tomatoes. For approximately $100 per person, the food choices were horrible, and every single dish was lacking ingredients and effort. On top of that, the service was slow. We waited approximately 40 minutes per dish. The parking was also quite tough. They have valet but recommend street parking since it's cheaper. There are only two restrooms so be prepared to wait. As for the drinks, I recommend buying it prior to sitting down. Once you're seated, the price will increase drastically, and you can no longer get it at the bar for a more affordable price. Other than that, I felt like my experience here was a rip off and could've been better. Will I be back? No.
