This is my favorite hotpot place in the area. The wagyu toro quality is just soooooo good for the price & the fire crab is sooo flavorful and has just the right amount of kick without being too spicy. The owner is very attentive and patient with our requests even when he's really busy. The music here is always so chill and relaxing. It's my favorite place to eat dinner after work. The only note is that sometimes they close earlier than the yelp time when it's slow, so make sure to call ahead to check their last call time!

I visited this spot over the weekend with my boyfriend, and we had a fantastic experience. The food was incredibly flavorful, especially the spicy miso broth, which was perfectly concentrated. We got the lean meat, and it was absolutely delicious. The service was exceptional - the owner checked in with us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed, and as a thoughtful gesture, they gave us complimentary macarons for being first-time customers. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, with dim lighting that created a chill vibe. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience, and next time, we'll definitely request a table for a more intimate setting. I also loved the addition of spicy drops to the shabu - it added the perfect kick. I just wish the portion of ramen noodles was larger Can't wait to return.

I've been coming here every few months and I love the shabu here. Currently they are understaffed so there were some delays but the restaurant was completely full when I went in on a Friday night. This style of hot pot is a larger individual pot and the meat selection is higher quality as well as the soups and additional add-ons. My favorites are the Kokumi and I always pick the Tom Yum soup that comes with 3 shrimps. There's mainly bench/booth seating but if you're by yourself you could sit by the bar as well.

Tried their all day $12.99 special which comes with plate of beef ~10 pieces decent quality for the price, plate of mixed vegetables, rice, and their OG broth. Service was quick and kind. It's a darker lit interior, one line of tables, not too cramped. For $12.99, it was a pretty good deal! The soup was nice and sweet to drink. Beef was sliced well. Good mix of kale, cabbage, lettuce, mushroom. If you're looking for a quick meal or eating alone this can be a good option! Their menu also consists of higher quality meat cuts like wagyu which are much higher priced. Parking is free and part of a larger plaza that includes Vons, LA Fitness, and 99 ranch next door

Came here at around 8PM on Memorial Day to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. There is nobody else on the waitlist but this place has been short staffed and has been for a while according to yelp reviews. It took about 20 minutes to be seated where after I had taken a look at the menu we were informed there are no drinks to be served or appetizers. Hot pot only and tap water. This was pretty disappointing because I was looking forward to trying their other items. So far, not looking too good.I order my hot pot with the OG soup base. Any other soup would cost extra. Cannot recommend the OG, it somehow tasted blander than water. My boyfriend got the sukiyaki and at least that tasted decent. Even comes with an egg for dipping and most places serve sukiyaki but never with the yolk. The meat serving size was generous and the quality of the marbling on the beef was really good. My veggie bowl somehow didn't come with clear noodles but my boyfriend did, what a shame since those are usually my favorite. The rice, was so mushy it was porridge consistency. So disappointing considering that's literally the only thing the restaurant had to cook. Everything else is just preparations. Ambiance was nice and comfy but I don't know if the vents work properly. I had steam get blown directly into my eyes my whole meal which made it difficult to eat.Overall, I would not come again until they fix their staffing and other current issues.

A generally fantastic meal at Kokumi. I often opt for the Wagyu Toro for its simplicity, affordability and richness, and rarely disappoints as a focal point to my meal! I love the fresh veggies, udon and hot steaming rice that pairs extremely well with the meal. Seating can be limited, so recommend coming early for larger parties. Overall, a great place to get your shabu shabu fix!

Kokumi is one of my favorite shabu spots strictly because of the Fire Crab Broth. Mokkoji is too far from the 626 so I have to come here and lately they have been super short staffed with one person working during dinner hours and he seems to be really stressed out every time. Today I ordered the small regular sized portion of the half and half zobu and rosu and while the meat quality is really good, I feel like the portion is so small with how thin the meat is , and when it is cooked, it runs out quickly. Unfortunately there is not free refills on the veggies or maybe just the mushrooms? Before I used to ask for extra free of charge but I guess they charge now! The fire crab broth is amazing!! You get the spicy seafoody taste with the mix of sukiyaki and its so unique that alot of other places dont have. Also the sesame sauce is the best ive tasted. While this place is pretty pricey, its satisfying every time. I need to start coming when they have the deals to not break the bank and still satisfy my cravings.

Kokumi is always on the rotation for dinner between my friends or family. This is the hot pot place with good quality veggies and meats. Kokumi has an abundance of parking since it's located in a big plaza. I never had a problem with parking. I always order the pork bone soup with the waygu toro meat. The meat, soup, and vegetables are all good. The sauces are top-notch. I recently tried the fire crab soup and I think I might have to change up my order. It was a good balance of sweet, spicy, and sour. A very good unique soup that you can't get anywhere else. Service is okay. The price range is on the higher side for hot pot. They do upcharge for everything like the soup and meats. They used to offer free unlimited vegetables but now it's an additional charge too. I wish they brought that back. Even those, you can go to AYCE for the same price, I prefer coming here. It's that good. Overall, Kokumi is a great place to get your hot pot on.

I love this spot because of the soup, their fire crab was fire. It is sweet & spicy. Very flavorful. The toro melts in your mouth, it is on the fattier side but I like it more than lean meat. They give a good amount of vegetables. Overall the fire crab is a must try! It is the best one to pair with my meat & veggies. We came on a Sunday night when they are short staffed but we were short on the service we were getting.

This is my favorite hot pot place in the 626. The quality of the meat is really good and I always get their sukiyaki soup it's the best. The service isn't the greatest here just because every time I come they're always short staffed there's usually only one server present. But even with them being short staffed we still get our food in a timely manner.
