Koi - Los Angeles

Took my gf here for her birthday and we were both captivated by such elegant experience that night. The Japanese style entrance with the Buddha on top of the fireplace started the vibe right since it was cold and windy. When we were led in, the first thing I notice was the nice bar with those pink neon lights. The whole restaurant was dimmed and there were candles on the table which created a nice intimate setting. It was lovely and luxuriously. Very memorable. We ordered the salmon truffle capriccio, grilled lamb chops, miso bronzed black cod, she so LA roll, & sashimi. My favorite dishes are probably the lamb chops and black cod. 5/5. Lamb chops were cooked medium rare which was very tender. Black cod was super soft and the meat melts on your tongue; not fishy. Kinda tastes like eel. I really like how there were gold flakes on the she so LA roll, but the flavor was alright. The siracha mayo was too overpowering. Sashimi was decent, but they ran out of Toro that night. Damn. The 4 cocktails got me pretty buzz, but don't worry, it was good vibes and smiles.Our server was very kind. I forgot her name, but she made sure we were taken care of well. My water is always refilled and clean plates appear out of thin air. Service was excellent and fast. Valet did good too lol. Will be back soon.

Came for the dinela experience and had a wonderful time. It's very dimly lit inside. Lots of Thai looking decorations. *DINELA EXPERIENCE*It was a LOT of food, definitely took leftovers home.- Lychee Cocktail 5/5WOW. Its strong and lychee flavor is strong. Very nice.- Salmon Carpaccio 3.7/5Very very thin slices of salmon on a bed of ponzu, it was on the saltier side. - Avocado crispy rice & Salmon crispy rice 2.2/5Thought these were just OK. - fish on little crackers 2.8/5Fun to eat, fish was fresh. A lot of sauce. - Roll with spicy tuna? (See pic for reference) 3.9/5This roll was delicious. The fish tasted fresh. - Baked crab roll 2.1/5Comes wrapped in soy paper. I personally thought it was mixed with too much sauce. - Miso Cod 4.7/5The veggies were over blanched/overcooked but the cod was tender and delicious. Slightly salty again, while the veggies had no flavor. - Steak with Mashed potatoes 1.9/5Did not like the sauce at all. It was very salty. Ribeye was cooked well, but the whole dish was just SO heavy.- Chocolate dessert & cheesecakeToo sweet, too chocolately.Valet

Pregnant and craving spicy tuna crispy rice. I ordered the vegan spicy tuna crispy rice which has the spicy tuna from fysh foods and can confirm it lived up the real deal.Even ordering delivery, the crispy rice was hot and crunchy not soggy at all. It's a must try!

The food was quite good, and the steak was definitely the highlight of our meal. The sushi was fresh, but the noise level made it challenging to enjoy the evening fully. The atmosphere leans more towards a lively lounge, with upbeat trendy music and a lot of loud conversations competing for attention. I typically seek out a more serene or romantic setting, so this place didn't quite fit the bill for a date night. However, it's fantastic for groups of friends looking to have a good time.

Food 4/5: some dish was 5 but some were 4/5 especially the rolls were not as good as the shared dish. But fish was fresh.Service 5/5Ambiance 5/5I do recommend this place for occasionally celebrations but price is fairly high.

I finally got to try Koi tonight and was blown away by the high quality food and beautiful interior. We ordered a bunch of sushi/fish as appetizers- my favorite was the salmon carpaccio which was an explosion of truffle flavor! For entree I got the short rib, which was tender and flavorful and came in a generous portion. My lychee martini was also very strong in lychee flavor and in alcohol content LOL. We also ordered the cheesecake, bread pudding, and pear crepes. The cheesecake and bread pudding were good but nothing to call home about, but I ADORED the pear crepes, which were warm and chewy with a little tartness from the pears and a nice crunch from the candied pecans. The vanilla ice cream was the perfect complement. Prices are steep but consistent with the nearby restaurants in the BH area. Would love to come back again!

The ambiance of this restaurant was romantic, dark, and beautiful! The service was more than attentive! Never left a dirty dish on the table and cleaned our table after each dish was brought out. We came in a Monday evening around 7pm with dinner reservations. Upon arrival there were very few people and empty tables. More people started to arrive after 7:30pm If I don't get Zach as my server again I'm not eating! Such impeccable service! Truly knew the menu inside and out. It's like he almost knew what our taste buds enjoyed! Now for the food:Ribeye Bites 10/10: a must order shared plate! The Shishito peppers paired with the ribeye bites that were cooked medium rare was exquisite. The peppers really complemented the juiciness of the ribeye bites along with the jalapeño cream sauceKiiro 10/10: tasted extremely fresh impaired with a cucumber taste that gave it a nice crunchKoi Crispy Rice 8.5/10: thoroughly enjoyed the yellow hotel, more than the spicy tuna. The rice was glazed in a sauce and cooked very nicely. I will say the rice was a bit sticky more than crunchy.Orenji Roll 6.5/10: I really enjoyed this roll & our server Advised that we get the sauce on the side, which was definitely a SAVE. If the sauce was on the roll, for me personally, it would have been too much. I think the salmon was very tender and fresh however the small piece of lemon inside the roll, I think threw off my boyfriend. I enjoyed the slight sourness and bitterness from the lemon and the peel, but I would not recommend putting the sauce on top of this roll. Personally, the sauce did not taste good even on the side. (lol) I think a nice Ponzo sauce would've paired nicely. I can envision the concept of sour and sweet, but the sweet sauce did not compliment the roll Pear Crepes 10/10: personally I do not like desserts, but this dessert was absolutely delectable. I thoroughly enjoyed the caramelized pears and the nuts. I really enjoyed the fluffiness of the crêpe and the lightness of the vanilla bean filling that was inside. It was not overly sweet or overpowering. It was just enough. I think the ice cream on top definitely helped with the sweetness and balanced it out nicely. I usually don't eat desserts after dinner however, this is a must order!! Overall, this restaurant PAIRED with great service & and WONDERFUL server made the dinning experience memorable. My boyfriend & I came to celebrate our one year & Zach brought out our dessert with a "Happy Anniversary" sign on it! Such a thoughtful gesture!! Great service with great food!

Have enjoyed Koi several times. This is a classic spot with great food and great unpretentious service. It is a beautiful space with charm and character. Fountains and bamboo in the entrance transport you to the big beautiful dining room. Sashimi and sushi is always excellent. Some interesting fusion dishes too. Love the wakatake saki chilled. So good!

We ordered the AKA Roll, Kiiro Roll, and Geleno Roll--all of which were good. The spicy tuna and yellowtail crispy rice were also great. The hand rolls stood out as they were neat and easy to eat without any mess. The Albacore Sashimi was fresh and flavorful. The Lychee Martini was a bit too strong, tasting mostly like vodka, but we ended on a sweet note with the Koi Sundae and lattes. I highly recommend the Sundae for dessert!Waitress was attentive I cant remember her name!

I was really excited to try this place for my friend's birthday as we heard it had remodeled. However, I was very disappointed. We got a variety of dishes, and the sushi was very lacking, which was disappointing because I had thought that would be the star of the show. The toro and scallion roll was too fishy and did. it taste like the toro I love. The lamb was tough and didn't really taste like the lamb I usually love. The miso cod was pretty good; however, 1 star because my friend got food poisoning from here.
