I was walking around Venice looking for places to eat, and KMK Chicken caught my eye. Hainan chicken is one of my favorite comfort foods, so I went inside to try my luck to find a good Hainan chicken spot in West LA closer than Heng Heng. There is a small parking lot in front, as well as street parking along Venice and the neighboring streets. The storefront is shared with Fish and Bowl, where you can get Japanese-style rice bowls and bentos.I ordered the combination chicken rice plate ($16.99) to-go, and it was ready after about 15 minutes. It comes with the steamed and fried chicken on top of rice. It also comes with three sauces: a soybean chili lime sauce, sweet chili sauce, and ginger scallion sauce. The soybean and ginger sauces were great, and the sweet chili sauce tasted mapley, which I was not the biggest fan of. The steamed chicken was cooked well, the fried chicken was crispy, and the rice was packed with flavor! I would put this place below Heng Heng in Thai Town and Savoy Kitchen in east LA, but this place is worth a try for your Hainan chicken craving in the west side!

Wow!! It is so hard to find a Chinese comfort meal on the West Side and we're so happy we have finally discovered KMK Chicken! Their hainan chicken rice is so satisfying and the ginger scallion oil is delicious. The rice is soaked in the chicken flavors and it's the perfect consistency. While we wouldn't say it's our favorite hainan chicken compared to some East LA/SGV places, it's still so good and filling and comforting. The prices are reasonable for what you get and we will definitely be coming back.We placed an order for pickup through Yelp/grub hub and it was ready within 10/15 minutes. The store itself is on the smaller size but can fit small groups. We did takeout and the chicken was still crispy when we got home!

I have chicken restaurants on a weekly rotation on uber eats and KMK popped up as a new recommendation. I'm so glad I tried it because it's definitely in my top 3 for chicken rice in LA! I usually steer away from the fried chicken or fried chicken combo when I order to go, but the chicken managed to retain it's crunch even after 30 minutes! I love the three sauces that they provide and the complimentary chicken soup! The chicken was moist, the rice was flavorful, I just wished the skin wasn't as slimy as it was. Definitely adding to my rotation and will be a frequent take out customer.

So sad that Emily Grill closed. I still miss her.I finally stopped to try this place though. TL;DR It's a worthy replacement. The menu is super extensive so at first I got decision paralysis but I decided to go with the banner item, the chicken rice. You can get steamed or fried chicken, or a combo of both. I decided to get the combo. It took about 15 minutes to prepare so it feels like it's made "relatively" freshly.Anyway, as far as Hainan Chicken Rice goes it can hold its own against the classic Savoy Kitchen for sure! I love the trio of sauces they give, especially the spicy sauce they give. The ginger sauce is also delishhhh.I had to review this place because it only has one review on Yelp and I need this place to stay here for a while! Don't let it be a flop!I definitely recommend the fried chicken rice if you have trouble deciding!

I've ordered take out a couple times now and 5 stars for the fried chicken but 3 stars for the steam chicken (hence the 4 stars average). The steam chicken was really dry (my order was just breast & no skin unlike some of the other reviewer's photos which was quite disappointing)

Food is good but they ll charge for every little thing even you pay. They didn't include the soup on the to go order while before they did.

So glad this place opened up near my home. The steamed chicken over rice is so flavorful and yummy. They take their time, so don't expect fast food, but it's totally worth it. It's freshly made and the choices are great. The staff is super helpful and friendly.

Not too many Hainan chicken rice places on the west side, so we were excited to try KMK. We previously had ordered takeout from here (steamed and combination chicken rice) and the portions were generous and sauce tasty.A few weeks later we decided to try dining in-person, wanting to order the same items that we liked so much from takeout: one steamed chicken rice and one combination. Unfortunately, the restaurant ran out of steamed chicken over an hour before closing, so I ordered the fried option. Additionally, the menu says you can add liver and gizzards but the server explained this hasn't been available for months. We were served portions of soup before the chicken rice, but the soup bowls and spoons smelled very strongly like bleach, so we didn't eat any of it. The portion of the fried chicken rice seemed to be half breading, so I was left unsatisfied with the amount of actual chicken. The atmosphere in the restaurant could be excused were it not for the disappointing meal.Giving 3 stars because we did have one tasty meal from KMK, but we will be looking elsewhere for chicken rice after our dine-in experience.

Delicious and super crispy fried chicken with garlic rice! It's a decent portion too. I only wish there was some way to order directly from the restaurant (like a phone number or website).

Can you please list a phone number so we can order via phone? Yelp prices are usually inflated.
