Definitely some of the best Ramen in LA. Came here for dineLA week so my partner and I had a chance to try a lot of the menu. Even without a reservation it didnt take long to get seated and there appears to be a decent amount of bar seating for walk ins. I got the Kaiten ramen which had a thick and hearty broth that was full of flavor. The chicken was cooked well and paired well with the broth, although I know traditionally it comes with pork. My partner had the lamb in lava which is great for any spice lovers! We also got an order of the lamb chops and shihito peppers as appetizers. The lamb chops were indescribable and I still think about them from time to time and immediately my mouth starts watering. The shishito peppers were cooked to perfect tenderness. The service is excellent and the wait staff are very knowledgeable. The ambience is casual yet intimate. Parking can be a bit challenging but my partner and I were able to find street parking just a few blocks away.

Kazan was decent, but I can think of plenty of spots in New York that serve similar flavors.I ordered the Lava Lamb, while my guest got the Chasiu Supreme--and let me tell you, I was not thrilled when I realized my bowl was double the price of theirs. For that kind of markup, I expected something special, but the flavor just didn't deliver. The broth? Honestly, it was giving Shin Ramyun vibes--not bad, but definitely not what I was hoping for at this price point.Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but for the cost and Michelin rating, I expected more

I've been meaning to try this place for a while and was excited to see that they were participating in DineLA. Don't know what happened or if it was because of DineLA, but I don't think I'll be back.We got lucky finding a meter, and then walked in about 10 minutes ahead of our reservation. We were not seated until 30 minutes after our reservation. They were vaguely apologetic, and explained that the group at what was meant to be our table was still there after paying, but mainly seemed to avoid the small entry area where we were standing waiting. When we did sit down, our waitress immediately noted that on the DineLA menu the Wagyu carpaccio is meant to be an option in category 2, not 1. Oh well I guess? Seems like something that could have been corrected online even if the menus were misprinted already. Did come across as a bit of a bait and switch. We ordered pretty shortly after sitting down. Everyone in my group of 3 did the DineLA. First course, 2 Kazan salads and the Yuzu Edamame, did not come out for another 30 minutes. Again, salads and edamame. So for a 7:45 reservation, we did not get our first food until 9:00. For the second course, and we were all disappointed by the quality. Carpaccio was overdressed and very thin, small portions. The lamb was far more substantive, but one of the two pieces was very tough. For the mains, which arrived at about 9:35, we got an Ouka ramen, a Lei ramen, and a Signature Number 1. We initially received the Ouka and two Number 1s. They corrected it quickly, but that was the order reflected on the receipt so it was input wrong. The Ouka was very good and I think the noodle consistency is my favorite of any ramen I've ever had. The Lei was salty, and the Number 1 was incredibly truffley- overpoweringly so. For the price point, even with the DineLA deal, I just don't think it was worth it. And that would be true even if the whole experience did not take over 2.5 hours.

I honestly was just walking by when I decided to come in here for dinner!!! Wow, what an experience! The quality and taste of the food is simply the best!! I haven't had ramen this good anywhere in LA...Kazan made up for that! The service was good, it could need a few more people helping, but I also walked in late at night. Anyway, the service was pretty good The waitress did make excellent suggestions! The ambiance was casual with some fantastic beats playing in the background! If you love ramen...this is must! You'll see what it's a Michelin starred restaurant!

Had the pleasure of coming here with a friend for dinner. The service was super friendly and the recommendations were great. The food was amazing, it's definitely not your traditional Ramen the flavors are bold. I had the Lei Ramen it was perfectly balanced and spicy, my friend had their #1 signature chicken broth and I had never tasted such a tasty chicken broth before. Seeing them make the noodles was a plus. I will definitely be coming back now that it's starting to get cold. Definitely worth coming here. I would highly recommend you make a reservation.

This is easily one of my favorite ramen spots in LA. Their Michelin star is well-deserved, and it's clear they're doing something special. We tried the classic Kaiten (Tokyo style) ramen, and it was fantastic--rich, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and tender chashu. It had all the authentic qualities you'd expect from a traditional Tokyo-style ramen, but with a refined touch that made it stand out. We also tried their signature #1 and their special beef dish and they were so good and innovative. What I appreciate most about this place is their ability to stay true to ramen's roots while still bringing something new to the table. The flavors are balanced and well thought out, and it's evident they take great care in their ingredients and preparation. If you're a ramen fan in LA, this spot is definitely worth checking out. They make all their noodles in house.Their service was wonderful, so helpful, friendly, and welcoming. We cannot wait to come back, especially during this winter season.

|[ o v e r a l l ]|3.7 stars rounded up for the broth flavoring, only worth trying if on sale. We were ecstatic to try this place! It was a hassle with parking since we saw online somewhere it has validation but the valet was $20 and no validation. For a place this pricey I'm not willing to spend another ramen bowls worth just to park. But after we got that outta the way, it was pretty easy/breezy though it did take a min to get our orders in (wasn't super super busy on a weekday night). Ramen also took some time but we enjoyed it.|[ b r o t h w a s d e l i s h ]|Lei ramen 4.5/5 one of the most popular ones and $18 on sale I had to try it and it was superb!! Super flavor galore in my mouth, the details of every flavor and thought put into it exploded in my mouth. It wasn't over the top spicy but had a good spice to it - reminds me a bit of tom yum (hints of southeast soup flavoring). The noodles were slightly firmer than I'd like but overall, loved the dish. Creamy fusion 4/5 also super umami flavoring broth and loved the wontons in it too! Only complaint is I wish it were less oily - for longevity of sustaining longer life to enjoy more ramen! xDSishito peppers 3/5 bit too sweet and average, I'd prob try something else if I come back. |[ n o t e s ]|Ambiance was average, gets the job done, not super extravagant but also not horrible. There's outdoor and indoor seating. While it was delicious, unless they lower the price or have more sales prob not worth the original prices I believe close to $30 per bowl? There's just too much competition in LA.

Parking: Meters or free street parking in the neighborhoods. Experience: We made a reservation a week in advance online and it costs $10 per person. This deposit was refunded after the meal. However, the restaurant was fairly empty on a Monday night, so you probably don't need to make a reservation. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The menu was on a QR code. My friend and I both got the signature soba ramen. The service was very fast and I liked that the broth was light.

Visited for lunch. We ordered two appetizers: Sake Steamed Clams ($21.00) and 2 Lamp Chops ($21.00), Signature Ramen #1 with a soft-boiled egg ($27.00 + $3.50 egg), Tsukeman ISE ($30.00), mochi ice cream ($11.50) and two green teas ($5.75 each). The Good: High quality ingredients and bold / intense flavors. This is definitely not your corner ramen joint! You will experience some new and exciting variations on traditional ramen dishes. The Not-So-Good:Nearly everything we ate was spicy and/or salty. If you can't take spicy or salty, you may be in trouble here. The Sake Steamed Clams came with a sauce / broth had as much salinity as sea water and was excessively spicy for a small appetizer of half a dozen clams. The Tsukeman ISE was very good but also proved to be quite salty and spicy. The spice burned exiting the day after as much as it burned going in during the lunch itself. Prices are high. Expect to spend $30.00 per ramen, $20.00 per appetizer, etc. Lunch cost $131.15 for 2 appetizers, 2 ramens, two green teas (hot and cold), and a dessert before tax and tip. Even an optional hardboiled egg for the Ramen Signature #1 cost $3.50 - for a single egg!Kazan automatically placed a 4.5% "kitchen appreciation" charge on the bill. At their prices, why can't they afford to take care of their kitchen staff? This is separate and apart from the tip line on the receipt. The hot green tea ($5.75) is quite weak in taste. It gets totally lost when ordering food that is full of powerful, salty flavors. Don't bother ordering it. The iced green tea ($5.75) is a bit stronger in taste.
