Came here for date night right before Luka's debut! Our server was straight business and managed our dinner seamlessly. She was attentive and courteous and made some recommendations we took her up on. The star of the show was their fried rice. I love salt and it was on the salty side! Haha! Paired with their NY strip steak made medium. We had the albacore, tempura lobster, and blue crab hand rolls with avocado. Had a couple old fashion and cocktails. Love the vibes here and really loved seeing all the Lakers fans decked out in their gear. Side note: there are no establishments at LA Live that validate parking so be prepared to pay $40 for the structure.

Great service, tasty food, and a well-decorated space. The servers were attentive, checking in regularly without hovering. We were a large private party and sat at a table tucked into a cozy corner that offered some privacy but still felt connected to the rest of the restaurant. For a dinner party, we had Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, Rock Shrimp Tempura, Spicy Albacore Sashimi, White Fish Carpaccio, Tomahawk Short Rib, Miso-marinated Cod, Market Vegetables, and a selection of rolls and nigiri. The highlights were the Crispy Rice, White Fish Carpaccio, and Miso-marinated Cod. Even the restroom was clean and nicely designed. Overall, a good experience

Had a party of 4 on a Saturday night at 5pm. We stopped for sushi before our movie at El Capitan! We had an amazing experience. Our server Felix was great! Super knowledgeable and friendly. Food was immaculate and delicious. The jalapeño yellowtail & chicken yakitori was our top favorite. We able to order a few items on the menu and shared with table no problem. Hot sake was delish - highly recommended! We celebrated a birthday given mochi to celebrate at the end. We loved the upscale ambiance. We are very happy with our first visit. Can't wait to come back. Thank you Katsuya!

OK, so I kind of gave up on this place but tonight's experience brought back the original five star fun delicious live experience of the original Katsuya I remember Misa was our server and was so incredible! If you get his section request the Misa sauce which is umami slightly spicy deliciousness I can't describe you just have to request it. I can tell the kitchen is stepping up their game as well as the sushi chefs. We always come here for the pre-game or concert dinner. It never disappoints and their service is fast, efficient and friendly - especially Misa Thank you!

I wish I had discovered Katsuya's happy hour sooner! Their happy hour runs from Monday to Friday, 5pm-7pm, featuring half off select items and specialty cocktails. Arriving on a Wednesday just after 5pm, we were the first to take our seats at the bar.Our order included the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, Lobster Tempura, Rock Shrimp Tempura, Baked Crab Handrolls, Hokkaido Scallop Sashimi, and a Katsuya Fresh Cocktail. Each dish was not only delicious and fresh but also arrived promptly. The rock shrimp tempura and spicy tuna crispy rice were definite highlights that I highly recommend. I will definitely be returning for more!

My friend and I came here after the BET Awards since we were so hungry!I can't complain about Katsuya the sushi was amazing as usual. We were seated immediately and the service was great. We chose outdoors since the vibe was more livelier than indoors. But the indoor decor is beautiful and great for date night. We ended up there close to closing time but were treated well and left happy :)

I've been to Katsuya at LA Live a couple of times now and the food never disappoints. Some in LA may think Katsuya is overrated, but I actually think it's UNDERRATED, lol! The food is actually pretty delicious from the sushi to the hot dishes. This particular location is so incredibly convenient for a tasty meal before a show at The Novo (Joyner Lucas killed last night).I've only been to Katsuya on weekdays, but never needed a reservation. I'm actually always surprised at how empty it is! It's a beautiful dining room that is on par with their other locations. You'd have no idea you were in the middle of LA Live, it's as if you've been transported to a high end & classy sushi spot.Staff is always very attentive and friendly. We never have had issues having to wait or flag someone down which is appreciated. I wish the glasses were not so tiny though. Water glasses need a lot of refills because they are so small. Now I've been a few times but a few of my favorites I can recommend are:-Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice - classic dish that never goes wrong with just a slight kick.-Chicken Katsu Bites - WOW! These are so juicy and plump. The deep frying is so perfect with great flavor encrusting these little protein balls. This comes with a spicy Kanzuri honey sauce for dipping and some pickled cucumbers to cut the flavor a bit.-Their sashimi is fresh and tasty, so you're good ordering anything sushi related.-Rock Shrimp - you know the dish, you love the dish, and it's great here.-Their specialty rolls are fantastic! The corn crunch, the salmon lemon and obvi the rock shrimp roll!Overall, Katsuya is a delicious LA staple and the LA Live location upholds their legacy!

Obviously pricey because of the location and convenience at LA Live, but at least they execute well and the food tastes good.Lobster tempura. Crispy, meatyBrussel sprouts. Crispy, savory, cravebaleFried chicken. Crispy, moist, great sauceSashimi moriwase. Fine/good. Not bad not amazingThe only whatevers part of our experience was trying to deal with the hostess while trying to get seated at a certain table (while the restaurant was quite empty inside and out), which ended up being a non issue afterall.

Five stars all around for me!!! Haven't been here in a while and it was very good! Came here before our concert at The Novo and it was not a disappointment at all. They were very generous and let us in rapidly without reservations. The food was very good! I ordered the miso soup, salmon teriyaki, salmon nigiri, Cucumber Sunomono, and tried the Rock shrimp. Literally everything was good !!! It was made fresh with so much flavor! The location is perfect, which makes the ambiance superb! Very cute decor and clean inside with spacious seating. Good for all types of occasions, date night or hang out with friends! The service was phenomenal and our waitress was so attentive with a very good attitude! Her name was ingo if I said it correctly! Overall, I recommend here before a concert or game! They have a good menu for sure! Parking is in the structure by Novo and other lots! -Marshay D.

Located in the heart of downtown, Katsuya at LA LIVE boasts a prime location that's perfect for a night out in the city. However, the parking situation downtown can be quite a hassle, which is a downside. Once inside, the restaurant's upscale ambiance immediately sets the stage for a special evening. We visited on a Monday night to celebrate our anniversary, and the quiet, relaxed atmosphere was perfect for the occasion. While I didn't have high expectations for the sushi, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. We started with the Baked Crab Handrolls and Miso Cod Bites. They were just okay and not something I would order again. For our main course, we chose the Sushi Set Combination, which included 4 Pieces of Crispy Rice, 2 Specialty Rolls, 8 Nigiri, and 12 Pieces of Sashimi. The rolls included the Katsuya and Corn Crunch. The fish for the sashimi and nigiri was incredibly fresh, and the rolls, especially the Corn Crunch, were quite tasty. As a sweet gesture for our anniversary, we were treated to mochi ice cream, which added a nice touch to our evening. While Katsuya might not be the best spot for top-tier sushi, I'd definitely return for the lovely ambiance - it's a great place for a date night with decent sushi.
