I'm so happy I stumbled onto this place. I decided to go to Chinatown one afternoon, looking fresh Chinese pasties but to my disappointment, there were no bakeries selling fresh pastries in the afternoon. So I continued walking and came across Katsu Sando, which didn't have a big grand store front, and easy to miss, but I'm glad I saw it. We got the pork katsu sandwich and to our surprise, it was fresh, hot (actually steamy) and crispy. The crunchy veggies, like slaw, that were inside went well with it. It also had a nice tangy vinegar sauce that wasn't too overpowering. We also got the fries with curry sauce and cheese. It was probably an overkill since the sandwich was so filling, but it looked interesting. It did not disappoint, but it put me over the top, food coma style. Service was friendly. The sandwich took about 10 min to make, which was fine, considering how fresh it tasted. You want something fresh out of the stove!I also got the canned orange juice with pulp. It reminded me of my childhood.

Katsu Sando was good, but it didn't blow me away. I got the pork sandwich, and the cut was thick and fried really well. It had a little mayo, but I still felt like it could've used more sauce or flavor to make it stand out. The bread was soft, and the sandwich was super crispy, so it had the right texture. The menu is pretty limited, which might be a plus if you're looking for something quick and simple. Overall, it was solid, but I've had better katsu sandwiches and probably wouldn't go out of my way for it again.

Omg, just had this place last night and got food poisoning. Currently sitting in the ER because of this place. Me and my pregnant gf decided to try this place because she was craving fried chicken. I got the pork katsu cutlet and she got the chicken. Didn't realize this until this morning, how the chef was cooking the patties. He put both the chicken and pork in the same oil and took them both out at the same time. Pork can be cooked at 135 Fahrenheit but it needs to cook longer than chicken. He did not take this precaution. Yes, it was around 7:30 before they close but both employees looked like they were in a rush to leave, I even asked before we ordered if it was still ok to order because who doesn't want to leave early. I used to work in a restaurant and would dread seeing last minute customers come in. You need to check the pork served on 01/04/2025, the ER stated it was from e. Coli. I tried calling but no one picks up so hopefully they respond here.Basically do not rush cooking or frying meat. It's very dangerous and get a restaurant really quickly with the right lawsuit and be honest about wanting to close instead serving a half cooked meal to patrons. You are so fucking lucky my pregnant partner ate the chicken because it would put our 8 month pregnancy at complete risk and that wouldn't end well for you.

Came here on a Friday for a fast and easy lunch in Chinatown. It's a small, casual, quick service spot that serves mainly katsu sandwiches and sides. There isn't anywhere to sit, but they do have a countertop along the inside of the front window where you can eat standing up if you decide to dine in. I ordered the curry cheese fries because they reminded me of chili cheese fries. The hot, crispy waffles fries were drizzled with kewpie mayo and sprinkled with seaweed. The curry came served in a cup on the side, so I tried some of the fries without it first. They're so good on their own! Then I had a few fries dipped into the curry, also great. And then I ended up going for the chili cheese fries experience and just dumped the rest of the curry onto all my remaining fries. It was delicious! And so filling. I didn't order a sandwich because I knew eating both would probably be too much for me. My friends had ordered both the pork katsu and chicken katsu sandwiches, and they said they really liked them. I'll definitely try a sandwich next time I visit.

I wanted the shrimp but the guy looked irritated and told me it would take 25 minutes. I opted for the pork katsusando. Not what I wanted but sounded great. My pork katsu cutlet was hideously pink bordering on raw in the center and the Japanese milk bread was totally stale - such an incredible disappointment. If I hadn't walked five blocks to where my car was parked I would have went back. Do better!

One of the best best chicken Katsura sandwiches I've ever had! Came here for the first time and order the chicken Katsura sandwich, what I thought was a wagyu curry "sandwich" and the fruit sandwich. Both sandwiches were really good, the chicken sandwich had the perfect crunch and seasoning and the the slaw and sauce they put on it all goes perfectly well. The wagyu curry was actually a dip LOL but it actually tasted amazing with the sandwich and I think I'd actually order the dip every time bc it was so good. Food was freshly made, so of course there is a little bit of a wait, but it was worth it! Will definitely be coming back to try the honey walnut shrimp sandwich and any other sandwich they make.

Ordered takeout for lunch. These sandwiches are pretty big and surprisingly filling. I tried both the chicken and pork and definitely prefer the chicken. The pork was thick, kind of bland and a little tough to eat. The chicken was much more flavorful and juicy.Overall, highly recommend!

This Katsu sando place was so so good! I had one of the best katsu sandos I've ever had here.Starting with the milk bread, it was good quality and was pan fried with butter which made it super yummy. The chicken cutlet was nice and crispy with juicy chicken. I also like how the meat was not too thick or thin. I also liked the layer of sweet marmalade which wasn't too overpowering. The cabbage was also nice, crisp and not an overwhelming amount of it. The fries were also nice and crispy. The curry sauce and potato salad were just okay. It was also so cheap, the katsu sandwich was only $12.95. I would definitely come back to try the other menu items. While they don't have seating at this restaurant, this is great place to pickup food for a picnic. The service here was also pretty good.

Shrimp sandwich was excellent! Chicken sandwich was just as tasty! And the size of the chicken? In every bite. The fries are crispy and crunchy. Get the sauces. It takes the fries out of the ball park. I place my order online and it's always ready and packed very well.

Stumbled into Katsu Sando looking for a bite to eat before a Dodger game. So happy we gave this place a try! It is a small location and can be easily missed. I am guilty of walking right by it the first time. Not much of an ambiance, but I promise the food makes up for that. No restrooms (you have to walk across the street to the plaza to use the public restrooms there). No seating available, only a standing counter top. Ordered the chicken katsu sando, waffle fries with gravy and a menchi sando. All were really good & made to order. If I could recommend an order, it has to be the chicken katsu sando with waffle fries and gravy. (Make sure to dip sando in gravy too, 10/10).
