Went on a Tuesday night and had a great time at the burlesque show. The drinks were weak and very sweet and the steak I had for dinner was swimming in some kind of sweet teriyaki and very tough. I would def stick with the sushi next time. Despite the bad food it was still a super fun time.

I spotted a Tiki Market Place event going off and that's what led me to this gem. They hold a marketplace once a month. So after my perusing the outside vendors we headed inside to partake in some libations. We sat in the bar area and let me you the vibe was vibing! It was full on Tiki decor and I was there for it. They offer both food and drinks but I was there for a couple of Painkillers and they did not disappoint! Their drinks are yummy, potent and perfectly executed! My husband had a few appetizers and he enjoyed them. Next time I go I'm going to make sure I have an appetite. The staff deserve their own paragraph. It's a family run business and they are all just lovely. There's not just one person waiting on you. They all check in on you but they don't do it in a pushy way...like they want you to keep adding to the bill or are rushing you out. If you haven't been you must. I know I'll be going back and as I'm typing this I think my next visit will probably be this weekend.

What a fun atmosphere and enjoyable dinner. The owner/host/server noted they were down a few servers due to illness, so things took a bit longer than typical. Saw folks going into another room -- and were told it was a speakeasy with a show. May try that next time.

Cool good place. Don't let old mixed reviews fool you. I dropped in unplanned and it was Trivia night for n the main room. I like the layout of this place. Similar to where I like in Vegas. Took a booth at the bar. Bartender and server were busy but greeted me promptly and got my order. I tried the Big Plate called the Sushi Papale just to get a taste and variety. The rice was seasoned good but sticky, maybe over cooked or just a particular type of rice. Fish tasted good enough. Rice of the nigiri is fat portioned but the topping cuts were balanced too. Rolls came fat with filling and wrapped easy with rice. I had one Bananarama blended cocktail and then the Chunky Monkey. Not overly sweet which was okay. Drinks weren't one and gone strong like you might expect from a Tiki bar. Still enjoyable. I imagine they would to love to have this place get wild but have to keep things a little mellow due to being next to the hotel. Though last call and closing comes early, staff were not rushing to get me or others out. Music was mostly retro variety and not surf rock or cocktail loungey. I can see the live band night and burlesque show being wilder. Definitely a place to bring a date if you want something of this vibe. Otherwise seems like a regular watering hole for locals. Hopefully will make a good pre game spot for other nights.

I love tiki bars and I especially love tiki bars with food. This place has great drinks and a huge menu with fresh sushi and tons of Polynesian offerings. Lots of fun decor and I like the little bar room off to the side. Mackenzie is an awesome and friendly bartender and I always have fun and stay a long time when I go. I only wish they opened earlier on weekends!

Kahuna Tiki Tu is an awesome Tiki Bar. Service is great, the food is delicious, and the environment is awesome. They have events several times a week, so there's always something fun to be part of.

This Tiki Bar is very much a HIDDEN GEM in the Valley! It's easy to drive past this location without noticing it-- which is a real shame-- because it is pretty good!!!The drinks are great and so are the meals! You are welcomed with classic rock tunes, an impressive tiki hut theme, a large bar, round table booth seating, and a smaller bar off to the side. Tiki enthusiasts, this is worth checking out!We tried several items on their menu from the Big Bites to the Sushi-- and everything was very satisfying. The selection of drinks is diverse and will definitely entertain 'Tiki Drink enthusiasts'. We even tried the famed 'scorpion-bowl', which did not disappoint. Overall, the experience made for a fun little evening! The servers work hard here and are very professional and welcoming guests to their establishment. Treat them with respect and you'll get even better attentiveness.Overall, this is a great 'date-night experience' if you're craving sushi and tiki drinks with a fun tiki/hawaiian vibe. You can also bring your 'family' here too, it's not a dive bar by any means. **This is a tastefully done tiki bar/restaurant**. Better yet, if someone is celebrating something, this is a great spot for it!I will certainly be coming back to this 'Gem' in the Valley. Tell your friends or keep the secret to yourself ;) --eventually though, you'll have to invite someone ;)

Kahuna Tiki Tu occupying former Japanese restaurant, Mikadō, that was there for decades, is now retro Tiki themed serving imaginary "Polynesian" food and Japanese Sushi rolls catering to American palates. Don't expect pristine, immaculate, expertly crafted, centuries old Èdomaè Sushi, and you'll be fine. Kahuna has a good rendition of Tiki décor in homage to Trader Vic's & Don the Beachcomber which started in the 1930's to help people get away from the dreary Depression. The big push for Tiki was propelled by American G.I's who were stationed in the South Pacific in WWII. After their return and settling back into civilian life, the 1950's saw Tiki bars even in the interior. Tonga Hut, the oldest extant Tiki in L.A., is in North Hollywood established in 1958 and still retains most of its Tiki features. My favorite in well themed décor is Tiki Ko in Bakersfield. Our receptionist/waitress was pert, friendly accommodating to set a positive Aloha spirit of welcome. We sat in a black naugahyde u-shaped booth with cool topless hula dancer lamp. Yes, Polynesian ladies of yesteryear were attired thus in the tropical heat. Tiki Drink: Love passion fruit, coconut, pineapple, watermelon so my first choice was Pink Pussy Cat although the title of Missionary's Downfall sounded more intriguing. Garnished with Japanese paper parasol, chunk of pineapple completed this tropical drink. 1) Pupu's/hors d'oeuvres Not very Polynesian Calmari Fritti & Onion Ring combo. Closer to a flour based beer batter, it is crispy only for a relatively short time. Big portion which makes this almost a full meal for one. Loved the greens that were the perfect foil to the fried food. Would have preferred a Panko Japanese bread crumb coating for the onion rings for a longer lasting crunchier texture. The Calmari Friiti were fine as is. The squid was meaty, moist, pleasantly chewy with a touch of sea sweetness. 2) Big Mu'uMu'u Dynamite: Standard Sushi restaurant ubiquitous Scallop Dynamite, but the ingredients also included pieces of crab, shrimp, mushroom in mayonnaise based gratin. The left overs will be made into a seafood Tostada adding in avocado, onions, Salsa. Food here is 3+. The Tiki dècor & the tropical drinks are what really fleshes this restaurant out into 4- stars. There is a small side bar chock full of Tiki objets d'art that would be ideal for lounging with a drink in hand on a lazy afternoon.

I decided to eat here during a tiki market place sort of thing, and seeing as they had a poke bowl, I tried that...then I tried some salmon rolls, and then had some jellyfish. Which I thought was totally awesome! The waitress we had was super sweet, service was a tad bit slow, but every tiki bar I've ever been to has had slow service, so I can't really knock a star off my review, now can I? What matters at the end of the day was that she was sweet and personable and knowledgable about things on the menu and took caution with my allergies (mango, dragon fruit, guava, passion fruit, star fruit, etc.)The ambiance of the place was nice! You got the feeling you were at a tiki place without them hitting you over the head that you were at a tiki place.
